birdman was pretty good

>”he gets into the suit because it’s the only way for him to feel emotions any more”
>blink 182 “in the end” starts playing
>at one point in the film Jeremy renner literally says “IT’S TIME TO PUT THESE TERRORISTS INTO THE HURT LOCKER!”

Yeah, it was super awesome

As a vet, this was a completely average movie. This is not how things go.

Thank you for your (((service))).

Don’t care and don’t want thanks.

I am not even american but thank you for your service anyway.

Yuck. Stop. You just made me uncomfortable dude lol

>As a vet
>Don’t care and don’t want thanks.
>Yuck. Stop.

I really hope this is some bait. Man, american """"""""""""""soldiers"""""""""" (i.e. israeli golems) are some of the most entitled, smug cunts in the world, I swear to god.

Nope, not bait and don’t want any thanks. This film is a complete fallacy of how things were in the Middle East. That’s what I’m talking about. I mean, it’s an alright film, but it’s not even in slightest truthful

The nigger who says movies suck and germ renner with the huge nose.
Fuck no.

so no soldiers go insane? Kandahar never happened?

think you're missing the point of the movie

>phoneposter frogposter
nothing you say matters to anyone

Green Book was better.

Viggo > Gay Jeremy Renner who fears Brie.

Shape of Water is also great. And Birdman has BEST EMMA.

Oh boy. Plenty of military personnel went nuts. Still do. This film glorified absurd scenarios. That’s not how things work. We don’t have “rogue” dudes walking toward a bomb. Obviously, we have EODs, but this movie was blown up so much, no pun intended.

one of the worst movies to ever win best picture

It really is a bad film, in many aspects

There were some good elements. Such as fighting in your shit tent. Happened all the time over there. Other things like leaving your base with your side arm and running through the street at night....no.

You judge the quality of a movie based entirely on whether it follows literal protocol in real world situations? You must have a pretty small pool of movies you genuinely enjoy, then.

>tfw Jeremy Renner steps into the shower in full combat gear to rinse his buddy’s guts off of himself

Attached: 5198F57B-EB93-4018-8748-5ADB28B45BAC.jpg (512x394, 27.66K)

No, I judge the movie based off what I know is real and what is fake. Also based on my experience.

the only good thing to come out of these movie is the thousands of obese american soldiers ripping it to shreds on youtube

They also champion Jarhead as the best war movie ever.
>bruh my wife cheated on me
>bruh my wife cheated on me too
Just inflating their kek fetishes.

Hey, I’m not obese. But it sucks.

That's not The Shape of Water.

So again, basing a fictional story on non-fictional standards. You must hate pretty much every military, historical warfare, and police movie. Superhero and fantasy movies are right out. You haven't shared anything wrong with the actual writing and characters, just that you don't like that "we didn't do it like that!" When it's clearly not trying to be a true story.

I agree almost 100% except gay nigger movie is obviously not that bad

Crash was beyond terrible. To me a person who lives outside of LA, this is the one of the stupidest films I've ever seen.

Oh ya and shape of water needs to be bumped down significantly

It was pretty funny when Sandra Bullock’s racism was cured by falling on her ass.

parasite was the first i agreed with in a long time

so there's nothing wrong

Should have started reading from the bottom to disregard you faster.

Almost everything is wrong with that film. Like I said, EODs aren’t superhuman and they don’t get to walk into a zone “just because”. Also, an EOD does not tell me what to do. If I said something, my Marines stopped. That’s how it goes for any branch. It’s rank. And even if I had someone above me that was being a retard, I let it be known to my unit. I would not lose men because of one person being an idiot. Renner’s character put people at risk throughout the entire film.

>Renner’s character put people at risk throughout the entire film.
That was the point. He was reckless, an adrenaline junkie, and borderline suicidal. But then, /k/ and LARP hate anything that isn’t a documentary, so whatever.

>Renner’s character put people at risk throughout the entire film.
but that was the point?

You're ignoring my entire point that you're assessing it based on personal real-world experience. That would be acceptable if this was a true story, true events, but this is not. Inspired, perhaps, but it's a story first. One about a reckless man who feels more at home at war working with bombs than at home in bed with his wife. Basically as said.

Yes, he was reckless. But I don’t live in that world. Never did. I mean, I’ve been out for awhile now, but I had some people above me that were kind of like him, and I told my guys, don’t. And they listened to me. Thankfully. This film promotes the idiocy of the military in every sense.

No offense, but your world seems kinda dull. Nost of Yas Forums are NEETs and fuckups, but a veteran should have better things to do than shitpost here with the rest of us losers.

I cannot but help to take things as literal when it comes to war movies about the Middle East. I lived it for years, so I don’t like when a film such as this tries to portray something different.

Im not shitposting. I hardly ever bring up my service, but I feel like certain posts, like this, I can give good insight. I don’t want more people seeing this and thinking “lol ok I’ll join”. I actually encourage most people not to join unless it’s something you KNOW you can do.

An understandable and respectable stance to take, however I'm not judging the movie by those standards, only that which is told in the fictional story itself regardless of setting. For example, Pearl Harbor is based directly on the historical events and real world people involved, and portrayed them terribly and dishonestly. Saving Private Ryan does take place in a real war and has a real battle, but the characters and individual story it tells is set apart and largely original, hence why it's acceptable when it breaks away from the real history.

Checked. And I know what you’re trying to get at. I just think this war is such highly publicized and multiple movies have been made about it. And it’s usually all wrong. Like I said, I’ve been out for quite awhile, but I still feel a certain duty to try and set things straight and also discourage more people from glamorizing any part of this “war”, and also discourage other from blindly joining.

it matters to me faggot redditer.
hurt locker is shit

>the year 2000 was not in the 2000s
so you're one of those faggots.

Hahaha

>Gladiator
>A Beautiful Mind
>ROTK
>The Departed
>NCFOM
>The Kings Speech
>Birdman
>Green Book

These are the only films above an 8/10 on that list. Also there is a very visible trend away from well made, entertaining films towards progressive woke shlock this century so far.

Dude, Green Book was horrible.

Every single plot point in this movie was pants on head retarded.

true, you need balls to enjoy this movie

Literally me the main character

>1.0/10
- "Moonlight"
>2.0/10

Last decade has an average of 4.9,sums it up perfectly.

k?

but your insight is worthless, its fiction

embarrassing samefag

It might be fiction to you, because you never lived it. It’s it fictitious to me though.

Enjoy your US passport, Juan.

think he was calling you a retard. he's right you know

It isn’t*

I think you’re right, but he’s not correct.

nice cope. what is to you is irrelevant. your insight is worthless to a fictional film on a backwater shitposting hub. get a grip

yea you are quite clearly retarded son

He can’t even spell Blackwater correctly.
Yes, let’s discount everything else.

What you lived in your head has nothing to do with this made up story. check that autism.

My dog keeps dragging his ass on the ground, how do I stop this?

Do you know what backwater means retard?

It’s checked, and I actively try to get others from joining unless they know what they’re getting into. So am I really that bad? No.

I know what Blackwater is, and I promise that’s more important.

- "Parasite
>8.0/10
you have lousy taste. I bet you watch The Big Bang Theory.

No. I'm telling you to check that autism of yours. Why would I say "checked"? Are you retarded?

I only remember this film because the producers sued everyone who torrented it.

I called this a backwater board dumbass. Nobody is talking about "Blackwater" but you schizo. Get a fucking grip
