you are a retarded subhuman animal that deludes yourself into thinking the characters on the screen are you friends
perfect
Yeah you're gonna love it, extended or theatrical?

Extended Fellowship is very comfy user. You'll really enjoy it, I think.

When the cold of winter comes
Starless night will cover day
In the veiling of the sun
We will walk in bitter rain
But in dreams
I can hear your name
And in dreams
We will meet again
When the seas and mountains fall
And we come, to end of days
In the dark I hear a call
Calling me there,
I will go there
And back again
why didn't the eagles take the ring?
we're not doing this
their talons were not opposable and were too large as well
they don't have fingers retard
they could have just fed it to one and had it sacrifice itself
NYPA
Eagles are wild cards who mostly don't give a shit.
Also, a crazy evil eagle lord would be terrifying.
I just marathoned all 3 extended editions last week, shit was maximum comf.
the eagles can not be corrupted
Saurons airships would have shot them down
look at you retarded mentally ill pieces of shit
you circulate the same stale memes again and again because they remind of when you were less depressed
you can't just watch a movie, you have to beg for random people online to support you in watching it
you don't even give a fuck about the movie, the story, anything, it's just an object for you to latch onto while you beg for attention
you keep chasing the past like a crackhead chases his next fix
instead of growing up and seeking purpose you cower and dig deeper into you delusions and become more and more hostile to anything that contradicts them
you invest in mainstream lies, hoping desperately that if you keep submitting and virtue signalling you'll finally be accepted
you will never be accepted, you are disgusting.
clean up and learn how the world works before it's too late, but for many of you it already is
fpbp bump
why did you type your internal thoughts that you had while you were looking into the mirror?
i think ur mentaly ill
But why didn't Frodo just ride an eagle to Mordor?
Nice
based there he goes again, my hero
Okay Dr. Phil. lmao.
'e took a litt'l tumble down the thread
LOTR is the biggest fucking Yas Forums meme.
Fuck this fruity ass flick with goblins and ghouls and knights and other lame ass fantasy bullshit.
I watch all three extended version every year around Christmas with my dad. Fellowship is a straight upgrade, two towers is mostly an improvement and return of the king has some bloat that messes with the pacing and tone but it's still fine.
i still haven't started lol i got into some Yas Forums stuff
gonna pour up a few shots in my big cup and finally get this going
i just watched all 3 extended for the first time and it was peak comfy. fellowship is still the best.
can someone explain to me why there are always same topic threads popping up a few hours after one goes away? for exmaple, someone was talking about the chinese guy in dark knight 2008 earlier, and now there's a "I GO TO HONG KONG" thread up. Likewise, there was a huge LoTR thread earlier, and now this. Is it autism? Is it some bizzare pattern conformity where some user sees another thread blowing up then starts his own for the (You)s and clout? Are they even aware of it occuring? I never been able to place it.
why didn't sauronman just play along and tell gandalf that he would keep the ring safe and away from sauron in isengard
woah there soldier slow it down with that kind of talk, the man will notice you

Here's a guy playing the Lord of the Rings pinball and getting to Valinor, the game's Wizard Mode (aka the end of the game). For those who don't know, getting to Valinor is extremely difficult. There are really good pinball players who have tried for a long time and never gotten there.
lmao damn they straight up cut the >No scene out of this edition!
why do bookfags keep making these threads? how many time are you going to watch this capeshit movie
Attention posters of Yas Forums, you must respond to this post with an image of an Orc and yell GROND!
@131782980
>comparing the most soulful films ever made to capeshit
OP reporting
are the Hobbit films as bad as the memes say or are they at least worth a one time viewing?
@2 posts above
the story is equivalent to reading one piece. it's for teenagers and children
@1 post above
>watching films for the plot
If even Gandalf could be corrupted why would the eagles be different?
Watch the fan edit called the Maple Films Edits
The first one is alright. Second one is only worth watching for Smaug's scenes. Third one is just bad. I'd just watch them all once and then never bother with them again.
Its later in the film
wow that first scene with gandolf and sarumon is just amazing
damn so the whole thing is a metaphor to never give into the pleasures of the whores, isn't it?
How does one marathon a single movie? It's not like your watching a long running show.
>Download raw iamges of the JP versions that is an extra 15Mbps "trublu" ray or some shit, disk is like 15GB larger than a standard bluray
>rip and seperate the video and audio tracks of them
>Hand color correct the entire first movie, spend hours perfectly color toning it to 2 and 3 and get rid of the ugly green filter and Produce it temporary as a near lossless prores
>Hook computer up to color precises HDR Monitor, spend hours getting windows 10 to play nice in HDR, and pull the movies into a REC2020 color space in Resolve
>carefully read the curves and slightly pull the highlights and shadows into HDR, careful not to remove any information, and dither the colors from 8 to 10 bit
>Use Resolve 16 to SuperScale the 800p Video to 3200p (8K) and then downsample that to 1600p (4K) at very slow speed with the finest detail
>Find English translation for literally all non english spoken in the movies, since only about half of the non english gets subs in the official release
>Get a custom LOTR font, Make Elvish white, Dwarvish Yellow, Mordor Purple, etc. and Spend hours timing the subs to be frame perfect
>Produce all 3 Movies at near lossless prores again, with HDR REC2020 1000nit color with hard non english custom subs- Nearly a 140 hour render
>time and mux the English DTS audio
>MASTER IS FINALLY COMPLETE
>IT'S 1.4 TB FOR ALL 3 MOVIES
>encode a simple H265 HDR version at 60Mbps
>looks so organically sharp and pretty on a 4K HDR display that my heart actually started racing
>daylight scenes are so bright at nearly 800 measured nits that you actually have to squint your eyes a bit, but no detail is lost in a side by side comparison
>shadows are darker than a blackhole on an OLED TV but the detail still ends where it does on the regular bluray
>MISSION FINISHED
>about a week later, a german website leaks info that Warner Bros. is rescanning LOTR at 4K and is doing a legit 4K HDR master from the original negatives
Fucking end my existence
I forgot to include all the time spent generating custom lighting metadata for the HDR. It fucking SUCKS doing it with busted pirated software and it took me days just to figure out a workable workflow with it.
NIGGER
better go ahead and keep your work it'll probly be better than the official release
I definitely am, and all the assets and project files that go with it. I've got a dedicated 4TB Raid 1 for it. If the 4K release is botched (like if it still has the green color cast) I can fix it by using my project as a base reference and make something even better from both of them. I the official 4K release ends up being spectacular well graded true HDR based from a real 4K scan of the negative and rerendered CGI, my enhanced subtitles will still probably be better than the official version and I can adapt them to the official release pretty easily. I've been mulling over releasing like a 100Mbps H265 version of what I made to various sites, but I really can't find the time right now to prepare it and upload it. I'll probably wait til the official 4K comes out and release whatever that version needs depending on how good of a remaster it ends up being.
it's' a convincing tale of tribulation so i reckon you'd get plenty of downloads if you laid it all out like that, and well if you're one of the recognized uploaders you'll get high praise
AAAAAAAAAA
The third one is astoundingly bad. Not just as an adaptation of the Hobbit but as a movie.
Man, this is amazing.
Can you share a screencap or whatever?
Get a tripcode or whatever and keep info coming, hundreds like me will love it
Needless to say, we would die for a rip
(That is not 1.2TB)
>about a week later, a german website leaks info that Warner Bros. is rescanning LOTR at 4K and is doing a legit 4K HDR master from the original negatives
What does this entail exactly? Almost surely Fellowship will still have its filter, but will the CGI be upscaled? I'm not sure how this works, forgive me.
it's unreal how good the troll fight in Moria looks, even by today's standard. unbelievable they did this back in 2001. looks better than a modern marvel movie
If you compare it to Harry Potter's cg its even more impressive. DESU despite its flaws Phantom Menace's cgi is incredible, you'd never think it was a 90's film even though its now starting to show its age.
So the movie was shot on 35mm film which is capable of capturing a ton of detail as it is data captured on actual film stock and not just pixels. Back when the movie was made, they shot everything on 35mm, then scanned the film into a computer at '2K' digital resolution, which is effectively 1080p for what it's worth. CGI was then rendered at 2K and blended with the 2K digital version and probably transfered back to 35mm. (I'm a little shakey on exactly the workflow from 35 to scans to cg to film again, etc) but that's basically what they did in one form or another. Now, if they are going to release a 4K version, they can do it 2 different ways:
If they do it the easy way, they will simply take the 2K digital CGI'd version or 35mm CGI'd version with the finished CG that they already have and 'upscale' it to 4K with sharpening, effectively creating detail where there really is none. This is the cheap and fake way, very similar to what that user did with his copy.
The hard way, is to dig out the original camera negatives of the movies and rescan them from scratch into a computer at a much higher resolution than 2K, probably 4K or even higher. They would then completely rerender all the CG, re color grade, everything from scratch, but this time it would actually be a 'true' 4K scan because you are capturing the super high quality negative film in 4K or higher digital resolution.
I'm leaving out some details and this isn't really exactly how it works, but it's the basic idea of what's going with real and fake 4K
There is a website you can go to that will tell you which movies have been done which way in their 4K releases. Your options are basically:
Real Digital 4K- The movie was shot digitally at 4K
Fake Digital 4K- The movie was shot at 2K digital and then upscaled to 4K
Real Film 4K- The movie was shot on film and scanned at 4K
Fake Film 4K- The movie was shot on film and scanned at 2K and then upscaled to 4K
Last time I watched lotr it was like 4am and I had the volume maxed and my flatmate who normally stays up late told me to turn that shit down. It was a good rip but the sound mixing is so quiet in parts I couldn't help it.
Thank you for this! So in your estimation, how likely is it we see complete re-renders. Having just seen the extended cuts of the trilogy last Christmas, it seemed to me that the first two still hold up well (especially fellowship), but that RotK definitely would benefit from some touch up work on its cg.
