Just finished fellowship. How did they manage to produce stuff like this lmoast 20 years ago but struggle to produce anything close these days?
Also what's with all the brainlets sayings it's just a simple good vs evil story? The theme for this movie isn't about that stuff. It's about taking responsibility and doing the task at hand even if you don't want to or it's extremely painful to do.
They had an insane amount of prep leading up to that movie. Genuine passion and dedication. A lot of work went into all of those movies.
Robert Jenkins
Because they actually took their time with it and it has years of actual preproduction work. Yeah, the first one came out in 2001, but they had been working on it since as early as 1998.
Most things these days don’t have a production like that. They just quickly work shit out whatever it takes them to do in 11 months.
After you know the lotr lore, this scene suddenly has a lot more feels
Matthew Sanders
no niggers
Camden Robinson
Catholics create art, all fedoracuckery makes is soulless cash grabs like MCU and Ace Ventura
Nolan Reed
Only fellowship is that great. The rest is too split up/has too many overdone action scenes.
Ryan Jones
I saw these movies as a kid. But when you rewatch them as an adult they're like entirely different films.
For example I was confused why boromir was petty and turned evil. But the real reason is because he was very determined to a point of desperation to save Gondor. And that in turn let evil seduce him and lose his mind.
Leo Perry
Frodo's commitment to his burden helped me find direction in my own life
Nathan Phillips
Now I get why people are pissed at GRRM's comments on Tolkein.
Lotr may seem simple on the surface but upon closer inspection it's more meaningful than one would think.
In contrast GRRM tries to go all realistic and you think it's deep. But when you try digging further you realize you already bit the bottom and there's nothing left to see.
Tyler Brooks
Love, pure and simple.
Lucas Sanchez
Lotr has fully fleshed out languages, culture, history and mythos. GRRM thinks "depth" comes from offhand references to taxation
Hudson Thompson
>Jackson and Walsh were going to make two movies, because that's all they expected the studio would be willing to finance >Weinstein says "wait, this is a trilogy, why arent we making three movies?"
Based jew rapist saving fantasy kino
Luke Butler

Jordan Nelson
t. my experience with gurrm comes from the 4 quotes I see on Yas Forums all the time
Anthony Brooks
Because now they prioritize agenda pushing over quality content.
Caleb Allen
All of that shit is meaningless when your story and characers are saturday morning caroon levels of one dimensional.
Adam Perry
im the second user you quoted, I don't partake in anything to do with GRRM i just think the lotr trilogy was made out of love you schizo
William Sanchez
Disgusting take
Nolan Harris
no one will remember you
Isaac Parker
Everything about the Shire scenes is perfect. It's almost an hour before anything actually happens but I don't even care because every single thing is just so god damn overflowing with charm and atmosphere. It also introduces the primary Leitmotif of the film.
Jonathan Gomez
This, the trilogy peaks in Moria, after that gets progressively worse and worse.
Jason Wilson
say what you want about GRRM and ASOIAF but that’s isn’t a real quote you know?
Jason White
Lothlorien and Amon Hen are kino, wtf do you mean. Fellowship is also the best book so its understandable.
Camden Brown
Amon hen is the first over the top action scene with legolas and aragorn acting like superheros, compare that to Moria were they are struggling to kill the troll and running for their lives... And every action scene after that is worse and worse culminating with legolas surfing the elephant which at the time in my theatre, provoked laughs.
Jordan Cooper
>It's almost an hour before anything actually happens Literally could not be made today. The audiences would shriek and whine about that. Glad they made it when they did. Best fantasy movies we will ever get.
Logan Perry
They're meant to kill that many. Aragorn is essentially superhuman given his heritage. Legolas is an immortal elf. What doy uo expect? Also, Aragorn got bloodied by Lurtz and needed to be saved by legolas fighting one rando uruk.
Wyatt Collins
JEWS
in 2008 when the economy crashed they used the money the fed printed for their corps to buy literally everything and now they have no competitors
they have a monopoly on everything so they can just make utter shit for propaganda purposes because there is nothing else to watch
its gonna get WAY worse during this crash
Camden Fisher
I really hate you fuckers. There is nothing wrong with Amon Hen or Fellowship in general.
Asher Myers
The fuck you talking about? Did you not see the orcs and goblins?
Lincoln Richardson
what comments?
David Hernandez
it's not the audiences its the producers, who are jewish and the media, which is owned by jews, telling retarded niggers and spics and leftists what to complain about
Isaiah Campbell
man Concerning Hobbits and The Breaking of the Fellowship always bring a tear to my eye
it's a SOUL OVERLOAD
Christian Young
For me, its Many Meetings.
Wyatt Edwards
the movies really did a disservice to Faramir - he's a personal favorite
Hudson Bell
TT extended cut is more palatable.
Noah Cruz
you just don't have a life and instead of finding one suckle at rumors
you're extremely mentally ill
Isaiah Ross
fuck you faggot
Samuel Hall
ask yourself why why did they change story so completely
why did they also insert Frodo banishing Sam?
do you have an answer that really makes sense? >just to make it more dramatic doesn't make any fucking sense
Kevin Gray
you're extremely mentally ill get a life, get some purpose, you're a coward stop ignoring the truth in your desperate, failing attempts to fit in
Parker Hall
>you're extremely mentally ill Ease up fag.
Isaiah Kelly
I expect to see the heroes struggle and suffer so their victory means something...
Levi Wilson
The Frodo, Sam and Gollum is more forgivable imo because its resolved fairly quickly and offers an excuse for Shelob to sting Frodo without anyone else being able to help him.
Jack Clark
stop projecting your shit existence on to other people. Imagine taking time out of your day to muck up a LOTR thread on Yas Forums. Why are you even here?
John Moore
Boromir dies after they fail to come to his aid due to having to fight their own battles. Struggling and suffering.
Ryan Rogers
Stop baiting, you look very foolish
Easton Ross
forced diversity and lack of risk taking. thats it. thats literally fucking it.
Julian Morris
but fucking WHY and why aren't you questioning and immediately 'forgiving'?
Adrian White
It's easier to make great movies when you don't have to appeal to the woke crowd every 5 minutes in a movie. You can actually focus on the quality of a film.
Brody Johnson
>you're extremely mentally ill >get a life, get some purpose, you're a coward >stop ignoring the truth in your desperate, failing attempts to fit in and yet you're on Yas Forums on a Sunday afternoon, talking shit to absolute strangers on a thread about LOTR stop projecting
Joshua Bennett
Eat a bag of dicks. The second and third are bad and have aged like milk to me.
Liam Williams
I'm more forgiving because no other crew could have pulled off live action LOTR like Jackson's did, so I've come to terms with its some of its shortcomings
listen you mentally ill retard you are the one CRYING and make up excuses for why this is healthy
you're projecting your life onto this story and grieving for your own failure of a life and refusing to actually look at yourself, saying you're crying because of the story not because of your life
you are fucking INSANE from making up excuses constantly, I bet you're a leftist/centrist
Lucas Thompson
>bad They aren't bad, Fellowship is just superior in part because it has the strongest source material imo.
Dominic Martin
#freeharv
Alexander Torres
>i can never be wrong because my enemies are always 'projecting' this is part of your mental illness
>and yet you're on Yas Forums on a Sunday afternoon so using Yas Forums is mentally ill?
>talking shit to absolute strangers like you're doing right now? disagreeing with people and telling them why they're wrong is "mentally ill", but only when people you don't like do it?
seriously you are a schizophrenic retard
Julian Martin
There's no helping you user, you're seething way too hard
Ryder Reyes
>dude if you don't show Frodo's perverted sexual behaviors in graphic detail, he's one dimensional
Alexander Turner
are you a zombie? WHY DID THEY CHANGE THE STORY WHY? what possible motivation do they have?
what the fuck is wrong with you, why are you ignoring the question
Jaxson Campbell
And that's it, the second one opens with gandalf doing insane things while flying and ends with legolas surfing down some stairs over a shield while shooting arrows to heavy armoured orcs.
Nathaniel Perez
The movies put all their effort for that family into Boromir and let Faramir and especially Denethor be totaled.
Angel Ross
oh okay keep crying at fictional stories because your mind is completely shattered and you have nothing in your actual life to inspire emotion
Owen Cox
this is why the stuff they make today is all the same. its all fast tracked through the same people.
Isaac Miller
what the fuck kind of coping is this? what effort? they could just copy the fucking book, how does that take any 'effort'?
why are you defending the producers raping the book?
John Thompson
They changed the story because they thought it would add more dramatic tension. Film and book aren't the same medium, you can't always do a 1 for 1 book to script conversion. That being said, the changes to Faramir's character and the Frodo and Sam abandonment is the weakest part of the trilogy and I'm not here to make excuses for it. Overall the trilogy is very good, in particular Fellowship of the Ring and I'm content with both its strength and weaknesses.
>they thought it would add more dramatic tension how do you know?
how do those things add dramatic tension? why would there be a lack of dramatic tension in the story as it was?
its like talking to a cultist
Jonathan Lewis
WRITING AND STORYGROUP TEAMS
They cannot get past themselves to do like a real artist does, and pull stuff that's beyond them out of themselves.
They're like the pop stars that can only sing about what they can relate to so every song is ex-boyfriends, partying, and how everyone's so special (except the ex-boyfriends who can go to hell).
okay, and why aren't they out-competed by other teams? are you implying there is no competition in hollywood because some one has a monopoly on it?
antisemite
Jordan Thompson
How do I know? Because I've seen the behind the scenes interviews where Jackson explains why he deviated from the book. I'm by no means a cultist. I realize that the adaptations aren't perfect and I've compartmentalized that. Even with flaws there are still so many aspects they nailed so well (cinematography, casting, score, props, etc.) that I'm not going to tell you I can't appreciate Jackson's trilogy believe it or not.
>okay, and why aren't they out-competed by other teams?
Because the Kathleen Kennedys of Hollywood WANT them there, and would rather fuck up a franchise than get over themselves and do right by it.
Xavier Perry
>struggle to produce anything close these days? It's called capeshit now instead of fantasy shit.
Jaxon Bell
Reminder the the extended editions are worse than the theatrical cuts, if for the sole reason that Legolas pretends to not know what beer is
Wyatt Sanchez
if anyone does anything you don't like towards you you will make up any excuse to say "i know you are but what am I" but you won't explain or a give a reason because all it is is deflection, you have no reason for anything and you're completely self righteous from being a compulsive habitual masturbator
you have no incentive to be realistic, at the end of the day you'll just go jack off and get the greatest pleasure you've ever experienced unconditionally
you are extremely mentally ill and extremely stupid you worship this movie cultishly because you have no real friends and imagine the characters as your friends
Connor Torres
No, the "Frodo banishing Sam" change is a fundamental change to a very important scene. In the book, the scene shows that Gollum can be compassionate and Sam can be ill-willed. The movie version reduces them to 2D good and evil.
