Why do people like this movie and this character? I think its terrible. No its not because the dude is a nigger. Its because he is a polar opposite of Rocky. Rocky was a dumbass but he was also kind, funny , polite and most importantly self aware how mediocre he really is. He was not some anxty, overly serious entitled nigger who was punching people just so things can go his way.
>i want my own legacy except i want my legacy because its actually the legacy of my father
>hey our character is a nigger how do we make people care for him?
>lets make him cause a cancer to rocky
the scene where he lost his temper and assault that guy is literally the polar opposite how Rocky or even Apolo would react in that situation. ANd this garbage got a sequel .
Fuck this movie, fuck everyone who like it and fuck its nigger director.
Why do people like this movie and this character? I think its terrible. No its not because the dude is a nigger...

I like rocky 5 the most. I AINT NOBODIES BOY I AINT NOBODIES ROBOT
whitey u dumb
The character is not perfect. Congratulations user, you got the point. It’s called a character arc.
Psh, I'll show you a character arc.
*Unzips dick*
>Rich stockbroker who beats up poor Mexicans to make himself feel better
Rocky was great because he was an underdog who had a shit life, shit job and shit apartment. Creed fucked up because they couldn't bring themselves to show a nigger as a failure, living in niggeropolis. Clubber Lang is more sympathetic, a man from the streets who built himself up from nothing, just like Rocky.
What exactly was his "arc"? He began a rich nigger and he ended a rich nigger.
Based
The modern consumers' (particularly american) mind is so deranged it literally cannot fault a negro. There isn't anything a black could do that is condemnable to these people.
I'm not joking.
His arc was coming to terms with being the son the his father and the expectations put on him because of that, becoming his own person while also accepting his lineage
zipper + dick ouch i can imagine because it happened to me once
Literally a first world problem. No-one gives a shit about a millionaire's "struggle" to be his own person. Ironically, if he were more like Apollo, he'd have been a much more interesting character.
>Got the silver spoon treatment in his teens
>Good education, home and job
>Go to fucking latino dumps or whatever to do hobo fighting
>Angry all the fucking time
>YOU OWE ME ROCKYYY YOU OWE ME
>Get together with some drug slut that did trance dance or whatever in a club with drugged up youngsters
>Beat the shit out of people
>Not humble in anyway
>Not showing gratitude to his aunt
Anyone that just hated the movie cause the MC was such a fucking asshole through and through?
I liked it.
So there is a character arc it's just not one anybody wanted to see.
Okay so you couldn’t relate to it, that makes it objectively bad? The whole reason he is not like Apollo is because it would literally just be retreading what has already been done just like every other Hollywood remake but also a sequel
creed is unlikeable and has no personality
its like he's a female protagonist, and his journey is boring as fuck also
mall cop man being an mma fighter is more enjoyable
Everyone with brain cells likes the movie for the Stallone scenes. If the movie were just about Creed, it wouldn't have been any more successful than Southpaw.
Bas Rutten?
What is this?
So characters should be annoying fucking assholes so the movie can be considered original and totally not misguided begging for nostalgiafags money?
Here Comes the Boom
It also has Rogan and Goldy commentating like it's a real UFC fight. Some real UFC fighters have minor roles too.
I was rooting for the vilain. That guy had a legit reason to fight and he was a badass. Reminded my of Tyson Fury a bit.
Here comes the Boom, actually quite comfy. Salma Hayek and her two friends feature as well.
Obviously not but purposely overblowing the characters actions isn’t making your case clearer, what actions make him so unlikeable?
>nobody wanted to see it
>grossed millions and got a sequel
>I get upset because a sequel isn't a black version of rocky
If he were you'd just say Hollywood was blackwashing Rocky and completely unoriginal
I read that the original Rocky was really an exploration of the lower classes in Philly and I think Creed stays true to that as an exploration of the lower classes in philly today. Also the boxing at the heart of it is much more grounded in reality
It's not even that. It was poorly executed and Creed just comes off as a spoiled asshole
sorry for your condition
Creed II should have been Drago I.
of course he's not like Rocky, what would be the point of a movie like that?
coming soon: a soft reboot of Rocky, starring Apollo Creed's son as young black Rocky!
he's his own character, you dimwit
How?
>CREED
more like SNEED
to
nobody said that he should be like Rocky but he shouldn't really be an entitled fucking asshole either.
One is much more representative of boxing, and they wanted a character more representative of modern day boxing
>1st and 3rd are moot points
>being rich doesn’t instantly make the character unlikeable or unrelatable
>conveniently leaving out the part where he gets into a street fight is at the films emotional low point
>reason for emotional behaviour is well shown and justified, his entire character arc revolves around overcoming that
You can’t complain about Hollywood originality if you are looking for another fucking underdog story
you are so full of shit. the Series was never about the boxing in the first place
How is making him an unlikeable faggot more like modern day boxing. Were they basing the MC off of Wilder or something?
>He doesn't act like exactly like Rocky
Shit man almost like he's a completely different character.
>nobody said he should be like rocky
I'm not complaining about originality here. The issue is that the movie sucks and Creed is an asshole. The movie would bomb and be seen in a much lesser light had it not been a continuation of Rocky
The movie sucked
>Salma Hayek and her two friends
Her feet?
So it’s not allowed to explore boxing now then? Even under a different director and storyline?
I dont like him.. on the fact that hes black
Bro. polar opposites in terms that one is a real human bean and other is a fucking scumbag who you are supposed to root for because he is black and supposedly sun of a bellowed hero even tho he doesn't have a single heroic trait.
It's the exact problem I imagined they would have when they announced the Creed movie.
The character was meant to be a brash, loudmouth, obnoxious asshole who Rocky beat and the audience cheers that he got beat. Then they base an entire movie around the asshole going around being an asshole. Who want's to see that shit other than assholes?
>the movie sucks and Creed is an asshole
Are you gonna like, justify argument? Point and evidence, that’s how this song and dance works. And of course it wouldn’t be as popular without the Rocky branding, that’s modern film audiences
>being rich doesn’t instantly make the character unlikeable or unrelatable
Actually, it does. The fact that he's a millionaire means there's nothing for him to lose. His whole motivation is pure vanity. Rocky fought to climb out of the slums; to make a better life for himself and Adrian. Adonis was fighting for nothing but a name, and even if he should fail, his life would be no worse off for it.
You're a big guy
I've given you reasons why he's an asshole and you still keep this shit up. Quit being a retard and go suck some nigger dick instead of trying to justify a poor excuse of a film.
It’s not about having heroic traits. That doesn’t make a character interesting. It’s about having interesting and relatable goals. The character has an intense inferiority complex due to being compared to his father his hole life. The fact that he is not like Rocky or Apollo is kinda the entire point
Okay then compile your shit and I’ll argue the points then. Something a bit more in-depth than ‘he’s an asshole’ or ‘he’s unlikeable this time’ please. I’m not even defending the film, I’m just trying to get you to argue and justify you points with something other than he is a nigger
>my father was awesome so I must and should be awesome too
wow such a dept. I can clearly understand now why he is being acting like a scumbag. Thanks for clearing it up.
Being compared by your parent's successes is mostly prevalent with the wealthy so I guess that's what it was going for? It definitely wasn't a Rocky film for sure.
Well he is a nigger.
He beats up poor people because he's angry. Is that not a trait you would find in an asshole? He is ungrateful to everyone around him despite his privileged upbringing. He is an unlikable person aka an asshole
That guy knows that ur right yet he will continue to reply until he gets the last reply even if he knows hes fucking retarded. Just ignore the autist
Quote from the film:
>”Prove what?”
>”That I’m not a mistake”
Turns out it’s a little more in-depth than you thought. You should probably watch the film and then come back to the thread
>>”That I’m not a mistake”
Yeah, I'm sure his mother raised him to believe he's a mistake.
I hate niggers
That scene in the film is after his only father in figure in life tells him they are not family. Obviously emotional is the wrong reaction to have.
I am open to be proved wrong but I’m convinced half of you people didn’t even watch the film. There is plenty of criticism for his character but being ‘an asshole’ doesn’t make him a immediately a bad character or unlikeable character. There are plenty of other characters like this
The film would've been more cathartic if he collapsed in his own vanity.
What exactly is your point here? The character wasn’t taught to think about himself that way by his mother? And?
Why would he consider himself a mistake at all? Whatever planted that idea in his mind?
I liked Conlan more despite being a retard and as the antagonist of the film. On another note, Southpaw is marginally better though.
youtube.com
>literally the polar opposite
No shit,Sherlock.
If you want to watch a Rocky movie, then watch a Rocky movie.
These are Rocky movies.
He’s the illegitimate son of Apollo, born because Apollo had an affair with another woman. He’s skills are also compared to Apollo’s and Adonis is not a good boxer at the start of the film, despite quitting his job and dedicating himself to that career.
