i tried to watch his most recent netflix special because, at the time, i was really into the podcast. i laughed at stuff joe has said and i thought we had a similar sense of humour

the thing about the special was that it was so, so mediocre. i can't remember there being anything witty about it and he does some weird physical humour as well like pretending to be a cat or something. i would describe it as very pedestrian. it was shocking because i remember countless times where joe stated on the podcast that he would work on bits over and over and he would spend so much time going over material and writing. it was so fucking weird because it made me realise he is kind of stupid

I couldn’t get through 5 minutes of it. He was literally yelling the whole time which was odd and throwing his body around the stage as if that’s supposed to be funny. I’ve decided Joe is too jacked and good at martial arts to be funny. You can’t be good at throwing kicks *and* be funny. It’s not relatable. Part of why Bill Burr and Louis CK are funny is because they look like schmucks and society treats them like it.
