Yes, but for the chemicals to have an effect, there has to be a brain left to act on. Most rugers have a magazine disconnect that disables the gun of you drop the magazine. It’s an old feature requested by police departments so you can’t eject the magazine if someone’s trying to take your gun and they can’t use the round in the chamber against you. It’s an easy feature to reverse though (I did it in my SR9 in about 5 min and I’m no gunsmith). Some newer rugers might not have it since they were shopping for that sweet DOD service pistol contract and the army doesn’t want mag disconnects in our guns since a service pistol needs to be idiot proof.
