Winter Soldier

What went right? Why does it feel so different form other capeshit?

a nuclear hellfire that will make the holocaust look like a picnic

more of a spy action movie than regular quippy capeshit.

The humour is much less obnoxious than other mcu movies. No shitty quips constantly being thrown around to diffuse tension.

We need to make nanking look like disney world

the russo brothers are peak capeshit.

i dressed up as the winter soldier this past halloween. it was the first time i put effort into making the outfit so i guess it can be considered a cosplay. i had also started my first cycle that year so i was fucking jacked.

lots of people took photos with me on the street and at parties and bars. the cutest was when these lil black kids dressed as superheroes wanted a picture.

it's basically a jason bourne movie

kinetic bombardment with one foot diameter 10 foot long telephone poles made of pure tungsten.

It commited mostly to being a spy movie. It was really visually dull, though

It's actually shit and the fight scenes are overrated

What did you do for the metal arm?

>Cap raises his right arm to block
>After cut he has his left arm raised to block

Losely based on reality. I suspect the directors are into conspiracy theories/politics/history.

What did the russos mean by this?

Fraudcel. Never gonna make it

>Why does it feel so different form other capeshit?
It felt different, in my opinion, because it was an "Agents of SHIELD" movie not a superhero movie. All of the movies that come before it in the MCU were more traditional superhero/capeshit movies:
>Iron Man
>Iron Man 2
>The Incredible Hulk
>Thor
>Avengers
>Iron Man 3
>Thor 2

Winter Solder was interesting because it was a spy movie. It had a different tone and feel than the previous movies. It is still capeshit, but I liked it.

>cap goes from easily beating high tech advanced aliens in avengers to struggling with normal humans in WS
Also, why doesn’t he use a gun regularly? Does he have some bullshit stance on them like Batman?

Drop your pants and wiggle your dubs in their face.

no, he would use a gun, probably just some rule.

A good villian/antagonist. So much more interesting then generic evil guy whos bad cause bad.

>why doesn’t he use a gun regularly
"I dont want to kill anyone. I just dont like bullies"

Hard to shoot when you're carrying a shield, I guess. Even handguns need both hands to aim properly.

The times that he fought other people he had no access to guns, and even when he did, he was always in the need to evade and run, taking his shield with him.

In the film he actually always try to fight Bucky and its obvious why he wouldnt bring a gun.

Cap 1 is good and always gets overshadowed by Winter Soldier

we're talking about capeshit retard

Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan are relentlessly handsome.

yeah this plus it has robert redford who was in three days of the condor which this film is a bit of a nod to
>visually dull
writing in movies has only gotten worse because of critiques like this because now they need to find some lame reason to justify all the bombastic ridiculous shit happening every 0.2 seconds because audiences love 'make big 'splosions clap clap clap'

i watched first avenger and then winter soldier back to back a few weeks ago. it was the time i saw first avenger since 2012ish and i remember not liking it at all

however, i was pleasantly surprised by how much i enjoyed the steve rogers origin story and had a strange emotional reaction to some parts of it like when he was rejected multiple times but still wanted to apply again or when he threw himself on the grenade. there's something about the underdog who gets back up again and again that resonates with me. you know like in rocky when apollo creed was stunned that rocky would get up again - stuff like that strikes me

the thing about the first avenger is it falls down after he rescues bucky and the other dudes because they just kinda mill around shooting stuff until the movie needs to climax and it feels as if the final act of the movie is bolted on. even with that considered, i enjoyed the first two thirds of the first avenger so much i would probably favour it to the winter soldier.

He’s a gosh darn amputee, user. Sheesh.

desu Civil War was a pretty good sequel to Winter Soldier

around blacks, don't relax

did you guys watch avengers? he's firing an m4 killing hydra soldiers (humans) and even throwing them off the airship. this happens right after hawkeye shoots his explosive arrow.

it's funny how marvel seems "lighter" but their characters kill people all the time. DC is "darker" but there's a fucking obsession with "NO KILLING".

also most of marvel heroes don't wear capes so can't be called capeshit.

Yes he fired an M4 and wasn't very good at it because he never had a chance to train using one.

the internal conflict Cap experiences is something we can related to, not grandiose plot armoring shit so producers can create "breathtaking" CGI sequences

>airport scene in kinoplex
>ex starts rubbing my crotch
Interrupting my Kino. Unforgivable.

you have a crush on cap and bucky

Cap was cool until he lied to Tony about his parents death and caused civil war.

>started my first cycle
Couldn't tell if this meant period, hormones or steroids. It's steroids.

I wrapped it in tinfoil. You just have to get it really tight to make it look good. Annoyingly you kind of need to buy the high grade stuff because the homebrand just tears instantly...

>Bucky and Cap are chidlhood friends
>Cap defends Bucky by any means necessery
>Bucky is a super soilder too
>Here Sam have my shield lol you're cap now

much more grounded, focused on personal relationships, action is very personal and close combat oriented rather than super powers and flashy lights flying everywhere, focus on intrigue and mystery, plot over action

the first 2 capt america movies were the least capeshit of the capeshit movies, which is why they held up better

But Bucky's SSS serum is from Russia.

>Falcon is only Cap for five seconds, Ross confiscates the shield and gives US. Agent Red Guardian's formula, also from russia

>grab his neck with your ROBOTIC SUPER STRONG ARM
>don't immediately crush his windpipe
>throw him a few feet away

steroids are hormones.

Oh, so he's a tranny?

This movie was terrible like all mcu abortions

This movie was based. Unironically made my Dad finally get his American citizenship. He didn't want to swear the oath before (some shit about loyalty to the old country), but was ready after watching this shit. Cap made an impact on him and made him truly become an American. Even today he has Cap shirts and shit.

cringe

Best post itt. Baby's first espionage film. Watch Conspiracy core and The American so you stop thinking you've found the golden oatmeals when watching another Marvel TV special

he's from a different time man

This movie would've been decent if they had an affair or something instead of awkwardly staring at each other. Maybe have something like them making out and shit but then again, marlels don't have sex so

Still think it's funny as shit how fast Disney has been willing to drop Falcon, Bucky, Wanda, and Vision outta the movies and into streaming tv shows

they teased it for the entire film and they at the end they are like just friends or something

This was the movie that made me decide that Superhero movies weren't for me. I didn't think it was bad, and would probably agree with what most people were saying when it came out in that it was one of the better Marvel movies, but despite being one of the better ones I still found it more or less the same as other Marvel movies, the action scenes were better, but it was still not anything particularly gripping or memorable. I remember when it came out people were talking about it like it was on another level, and while I can see what lead people to saying that, it still just made me feel that if this is the peak, or near the peak, of what Marvel can put out, then I'm not interested.

it grounded itself a little bit for the first two acts, kinda like the original iron man. The plot and story had no cosmic space creatures or beings of incredible world altering superpowers. They took the focused view of making a homage to 70s spy thrillers disguised in a capeshit movie while still taking returning elements of Captan America's story from previous movies and building on them. Captain America has an arc where he changes due to the events of the film where at the end his faith in authority is shaken and it leads to his conflict with Tony Stark in Civil war.

The russos are great directors when it comes to plot elements and character arcs and action, too bad they have the visual instincts of television directors and all the color correction is grey and all the cinematography is really boring and straightforward. it's the only really big weakness of the russo brothers. They are the polar opposite of michael bay.

>I wrapped it in tinfoil
HAHHAHAHA PEAK COSPLAY

How can people watch this shit? The cameraman must have epilepsy.

Yep. This whole scene looks far more impressive filmed 30ft away.

The final battle was too cgi heavy

>writing in movies has only gotten worse because of critiques like this because now they need to find some lame reason to justify all the bombastic ridiculous shit happening every 0.2 seconds because audiences love 'make big 'splosions clap clap clap'
so they are doubling down on the thing he criticizes?
I don't get it
