this

Superior alien movie coming through
At least the first hour

Only movie I’ve ever walked out of Straight garbage.

Came here to say this as well

Who the hell's John Wayne?

I remember being hyped for this gigantic fucking turd way back when, and then I finally saw it and wanted to gouge my dick off. God damn every one of those characters were unbearable and I was wishing for their deaths within a few minutes.

fpbp

This movie was strangely very comfy to me.

Yes

The marketing ARG was kino. The movie was okay, I guess.

Monster design (Kaiju and parasites) are some of the best in the film industry. The breathing organs undulating on the sides of its head are cool as hell, and the gangly limbs are unsettling. You can’t really pin down what the creature is either because it’s obviously a vertebrate but has weird hexapodal limbs and some invertebrate features. Glad they went the direction they did instead of the whale thing from the concept art. Movie is trash tho I just like monsters

Literally one of my favorite movies of all time.

One of the best trailers made for a mostly shit movie

>Kaiju and parasites)
Was this movie the first to invent the concept of humans fighting the parasites of a giant?

Get ready for this hot take:

Cloverfield is the only entertaining western "kaiju" film to come out since Zilla '98. And I've watched them all.

idk if cloverfield started it but this design seems to be copied throughout other films like A Quiet Place.
even Orga from Godzilla 2000 has a similar vibe

HOLY SHIT
HOLY SHIT
HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT
SHIT HOLY SHIT
HOLY SHIT

The movie was decent, but never lived up to the hype / ARG stuff that preceded it. Also, both pseudo-sequels were superior.

Movies like this are so fucking stupid. In real life the monster would be dead in half an hour. Every air asset in range would be scrambled and there is no way this thing survives a JDAM to the face.

I said FUCK THAT SHIT
And went back to the Belushi

This. I walked out within the first 20 minutes.

Maybe one. Probably not two though.

That is quite the hot take considering King of the Monsters and Pacific Rim are the best kaiju films ever made, and they came out of Hollywood.

Its an alien so I can accept it. Godzilla being able to survive everything is retarded tho.

The first Pacific Rim was good. I liked it anyway. Fight me faggots

Both of those were shit, my friend. Especially KotM.

Cloverfield is great. Deal with it, fags.

robert actually warned me about motion sickness at the 34th street amc lol the internet hype foamed idiots for months about an average movie

When will we actually get kino about a fucking colossal monster attacking the world? Godzilla and King Kong are garbage, whether because it's so dark you cant see shit or the monsters are retarded and the plot has no real tension.

Do we have to wait for James Cameron to have a Kaiju in his Avatar movies or is the technology just not there yet?

The first Pacific Rim is my favorite movie. Theres just too much cool shit in there from a big Hollywoord movie
What's your standard for kaiju? KotM probably has some of the best monster fights in the genre, as much as I love the charm of the classic Godzilla films, holy fuck KotM has some good shit.

I assume you like Asian cartoons, am I correct?

>both sequels
Cloverfield paradox is trash and you know it. 10 Cloverfield Ln is fantastic up until the end where it becomes a dumb action movie. Cloverfield is my favorite though because I was apart of the IMDB forum back in the day, and I enjoyed it quite a bit, 10 is probably the better movie though.

What were make you think that? If anything the fact I didn't enjoy Pacific Rim or KotM should clue you in that I don't automatically enjoy flashy colorful actionfests with little substance.

I wouldn't call it trash although the ending was pretty stupid. Moreso Paradox than Lane.

Based

>Cloverfield is my favorite though because I was apart of the IMDB forum back in the day

Dude...I have the EXACT same opinion and reasioning. I was pretty young back then though so I'm glad all my cringy posts of the past got deleted in the big purge.

>what were make you think that
Maybe your shit grasp of the language?

Still the richest ARG material to date

I don't know about great, but it isn't bad

no

It does though. Shut up Chris

Yeah, you really got me user.

In real life it would be dead with its first step because square cube law is a bitch

Same, do you remember President Juggernaut? I remember he was one of the well known members of the board at the time lol.

>King of the Monsters and Pacific Rim are the best kaiju films ever made,
KEK

>, and they came out of Hollywood.
Hollywood died in 2012. Anything after that is all chinese, capeshit, or pretenshit.

It was a pretty awesome experience in the theater, but I haven't seen it since. I doubt it would be all that great watching at home.

The name sounds vaguely familiar, but that shit was so long ago. I'm trying to remember the name of one of the resident trolls that was infamous on there. I remember genuinely hated him because I was kid who easily got butthurt by the internet. Good times.

I loved Cloverfield, the concept and all the other shit surrounding it. I haven't seen it since but I imagine it's still fun. Has there ever been another found footage disaster movie like this? I know there's a bunch of found footage horror.

this movie sucked ass lmao

That trailer was all the rage amongst us millennials. The movie sucked ass.

/thread

The first scenes with the characters at the house party made me wish for them all to die
Hateful characters in a shit movie
The marketing was only slightly more enjoyable

IT'S A LION

I remember someone there made a video of all the frequent members of the board a week before the the movie came out, kind of an end of an era type thing. I tried finding it a while back ago to no avail. That place was great. I still remember everyone looking in the clouds for the monster seeing the capricorn like demon, and debates on whether or not he was saying "alive" or "lion" when people thought it was a voltron movie for some reason.

what a shit taste

It's great.

Way to out yourself as a total fuckin retard.
