Pretty sure this movie did come out.
yeah and it was garbage, dont know what op is on
kinda wish it was better tho
>dont know what op is on
the trailers seemed to be promoting a movie that was much better than what was sent to theaters. I was expecting much better based on all trailers, but then again i'm a sucker for music.
>Claire De Lune
>Over the Rainbow
>Nessun Dorma
I genuinely thought we were getting kino.
That's not nearly as bad as Godzilla 2014. That movie had some of the best trailers I have ever seen, unbelievably hyped.
Then I saw the movie and it was dogshit. I've never had a more disappointing theater experience in my life.
why are you still getting excited about trailers?
they have been completely misrepresenting the movies for more than 10 years
>my god-
>zillaaaah
>Then I saw the movie and it was dogshit. I've never had a more disappointing theater experience in my life.
For me, the ending of that one where he breathed fire down that other monster's throat until his head came off saved the entire movie.
As cool as that one scene was it doesn't excuse the rest of the film being such a trainwreck, at least for me.
There are not any specific universally acknowledged things to hate about this movie or any other from the Legendary series so the opinions vary but it really doesn't have anything to really piss people off. I like them, they're only ok, but people forgot how to make blockbusters so what are we expecting. The next one better be delayed again or it's gonna get massacred with Bond and Black Widow released closely to it.
>it doesn't excuse the rest of the film being such a trainwreck
all the action in the last 20 minutes was worth sitting through the terrible other parts for me. But you're right, the rest of the movie was pretty bad aside from the finale. the way it's structured makes me not ever wanna rewatch it
king of the monsters was worst than 2014.
Your both deranged. There is nothing not a single god damn thing about 2014 or Kotm that puts then within a million miles of being garbage or dogshit.
There wasn't a single thing in 2014 that qualifies as terrible. ATJ was the weakest part of it bit he was merely flat, he wasn't cringy or annoying.
don't you have delayed movies to worry about, WB shill?
The intense hate for King of the Monsters (2019) is genuinely mind blowing to me. I see people acting like it's Fantastic 4 (2015) level trash when in reality it's good and at the very worst it's just 2007 Transformers level "dumb" non stop action. (the 07 film specifically not the sequels which are much worse)
> Complaints about the quips/jokes are hyper exaggerated, there isn't half as many as the average Mcu film, I don't recall any of note during the final battle or the more major suspense scenes. The Gonorrhea line was the worst and nothing else came close.
> Vera's character isn't flawlessly consistent but still a fine conflicted villain and a good performance. And it's perfectly reasonable for a woman who lost a child to put a cause she believes in on hold to save her second child. Saw the same thing with Dina Araz in 24 season 4, she tried to save her son from her filicidal husband despite still fully believing in her husband's terrorist cause.
> Yes the fights are still murky but it's still VASTLY lighter/clearer then 2014 especially that fucker's bullshit blu ray.
> People bitch about soldiers and military in the G films, now we have a pair of scientist and your still screaming, what human characters do you fucking want??? And do not respond with "no humans whatsoever".
> The reversal of the nuke/oxygen destroyer message and Serizawa's death, how is this offensive? Seriously. Comics do these flip the script points in alternate universes all the fucking time.
About the only complaints I will agree with are...
> Charles Dance is notably underused.
> Sally Hawkins being killed off in a way that you couldn't even tell who it was was bullshit.
> Too many characters, should have cut Whitford and the skinny white guy and given Watanabe & Hawkins more to do and more interaction with Super8 Dad and maybe flashbacks working with Vera.
I actually just rewatched it a few weeks ago, for the first time since I saw it in theaters and it honestly was worse than I remembered. It's just incredibly boring, and no kaiju movie should ever be boring.
I might be biased because of how hyped I was for it, and then how bitterly disappointing it turned out to be, but 2014 was just a really lame excuse for a Godzilla movie to me.
I enjoyed KOTM a lot more, probably because I went in with zero expectations after its predecessor and ended up being pleasantly surprised. It was fun and I enjoyed it for the Showa-style shlock it was.
I'm not shilling them I am just sick to death of the hype exaggerated demonization. The vitriol people have hit them with and also the Snyder Dceu films is profoundly absurd, you wanna say the film's are weak all good I agree in part but people are acting like they are Movie43 level atrocities.
The film exemplified the worst things about modern hollywood blockbusters. The dialogue was just atrocious filled with cliche after cliche, and the action and visuals were mediocre at best. There are no redeeming factors as a film whatsoever. At least 2014 had a more consistent tone, and even if the characters were dull, they weren't as offensively bad as the ones in kotm.
This.
>As cool as that one scene was it doesn't excuse the rest of the film being such a trainwreck
Should have seen it on imax.
> trainwreck
Liked by critics, grossed half a bil. Gave an excuse for a sequel. And the rest is history.
> It was fun and I enjoyed it for the Showa-style shlock it was.
Just because it was a big monster bash doesn't make it fucking silly or shlock. It still largely took things seriously thank god.
>Snyder Dceu films
good
>king of the monsters
not
Shit fan art is shit. At least post good ones.
>why are you still getting excited about trailers?
> they have been completely misrepresenting the movies for more than 10 years
> I might be biased because of how hyped I was for it, and then how bitterly disappointing it turned out to be, but 2014 was just a really lame excuse for a Godzilla movie to me.
You guys are going to have to create a better excuse for KoTM other than, it’s a Showa film! The trailers promised us something kino. I feel let down. Fuck the third one.
Mos is strongly great. 2014 & Kotm are good. The Ultimate Cut of Bvs is decent. The theatrical cut of Bvs is poor.
Agreed. It's not the best movie ever, and not even the best Godzilla movie ever, but it was by no means bad. I'd probably rank it somewhere in the middle for Godzilla movies.
It's mostly just one or two guys who post in every thread with a really bizarre and overblown hatred of it.
There's nothing wrong with shlock user, and it's what I enjoyed about it. It didn't feel like it was ashamed of being a Godzilla movie, which is probably my biggest issue with its predecessor.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who's noticed the similarity with the Snyder DC movies. Both Batman vs. Superman and King of the Monsters were savaged by critics but I've never actually met a single person in real life who didn't like them.
Regarding Batman v. Superman how is this even possible excluding total isolation?

The incel king of the monsters
The Chad skull island
The Thad king Kong (2005)
The Brad shin gojira
The wizard godzilla (2014)
The Becky godzilla (1998)
The unconfirmed virgin godzilla vs kong
Don't really know, but all my friends, family and coworkers who saw it all said they liked it.
>>I like being cucked out of giant monster fights in a movie about giant monsters fighting
>kys
Don’t act like this didn’t happen to Godzilla 2 Electric Boogaloo too.
Because every anti-KotM thread turns into a pro-KotM thread and then Godzilla thread sooner or later let's look at some of that Magic the Gathering artwork.
Which I don't fully understand. I know MtG is like some card-game with fantasy monsters. Like Warhammer Forgotten Realms. So now a bunch of licensed Japanese monsters will be added to the bestiary?
When will they fix the shitty music and give us something Akira Ifukube tier? The heisei films stomp Monsterverse
Kong simps after a woman and dies. How is kong supposed to beat godzilla?
>simps
Will you faggots stop using this zoomer term?
What more do you want?
youtube.com
Why do jets fly so close to the giant creatures when they have heat seeking missles?
it's a black term. zoomers adopted it
I'm going to be so mad if my nigga Anguirus isn't in GvK.
THE PEOPLE WANT ANGUIRUS
GIVE THE PEOPLE ANGUIRUS
I hope it's the right one. My Rodan folder is full of great artwork. Out of all the monsters he must be the one with the best art quality ratio.
He's semi-canonically dead.
explain
>DAS RITE
>just realized that i put ugh at the end of the link instead of after it
>link still works
wtf
His skeleton appears very briefly in the scene where Godzilla's temple gets nuked
I can't unsee that picture as a set of tits in a see through top
Certainly not bad. Definitely a good Godzilla theme, but it's ultimately just one song. Godzilla VS Biolante had that theme too, and it had the worst soundtrack of all Japanese godzilla movies minus the Fukuda movies. Nearly all the original music these movies pushed was shit. They should bring back more Ikufube themes in that vein, rather than the generic shit that permeates the rest of the movie. Or, write stuff that's as good.

His resting place was close to Godzilla's home. I'm not sure if any official source acknowledged it besides Dougherty on twitter. I read something more about it but in the end I'm not sure it was an official account (something about speculating if he was close to Godzilla). But it's very likely that Legendary never paid for Anguirus. They also used Gigan as stand in in the artwork book probably without paying Toho so perhaps they can do things like this if the appearance is vague enough.
Anyone else believe there are Godzilla like creatures inside of the earth right now?
Yeah well there was a Godzilla skeleton in 2014 too, that doesn't necessarily mean Anguirus is dead, just a different one.
Never count that lil nigga out.
Of coure Ifukube reused some of his themes or rather expanded on them like all composers but he sometimes had just a couple days to compose everything and record it. I read the interviews it's no mistake he had only a few days. He recorded it with orchestra to the movie playing in the background so it sounds more ferocious.
