I like that too, the slight issue is that it would be pretty rich for the Timelords to lay down the law. It could be done right if it only happened occasionally. When something really big happens or the Doctor fucks up. It might also work better if it came from someone like Romana. A freind of the Doctor.

time lords should remain mostly out of reach, the way they were between day of the doctor and hell bent, only brought back in special circumstances, and when they are brought back you show how amoral and fucked up their society is

>muh shepherds boy
FUCK Capaldi

I think Time Lords being out of this dimension could have made them into mystical race like they once were in War Games. Doctor doesn't know how to reach them, but they can reach him by bending reality, using time cracks, etc.

how bumps in a thread?

Watching The Kings Demons, it's really really fun. Why does the fifth Doctor feel so fresh compared to the Fourth?

What's at the end of the universe? Me.

You ever take a big gulp of cold water after chewing mint gum for a few hours?

What was the point of destroying Gallifrey again?

you mean in series 1 or series 12?

Chibnall wants trending on twitter

And he totally failed.

Chibnall wanted to make his mark on the series but didn't think about why the Time War worked when RTD did it.

Alright now that I caught one of these threads early, I want to know as a nu-Who fan (who grewup on Eccleston and Tennant). Should I watch the OG series and if so, which doctors and which episodes? All recommendations allowed.

Watch everything. All of the Doctors are good.

You could try watching Seven, he was in the 80's so it's not as jarring as going back to the start.
Try to watch Remembrance of the Daleks, interesting story, decent pace, good companion and good Doctor.
Have you thought about listening to the Big Finish audio dramas with the old Doctors in? The stories are usually decent and it can get you into a Doctor/Companion vibe without having to stomach the long form older stories and poor special effects/acting. They helped me finally watch classic Who when I'd been putting it off

This one's the original guy, btw. Answer him if anyone

Don't listen to any of the long winded garbage people tell you. Start with 4 (Any 4 apart from E-Space trilogy onwards) then either stick with 5 if you like way the show is or go back and watch 3. People are gonna tell you that "there's streaks of 6 in 1" or "there's parts of 5 in 10" but they're thinking too deep. Start with Baker.

You'll want to start with a Fourth Doctor story. Probably one of the famous ones like Genesis of the Daleks or The Pirate Planet. You should end up watching all of the Doctors but it's smart to sample it some first and acclimate yourself to the older style(s). These older stories were meant to be watched week to week, so binging a four or six part story is possible, but I wouldn't recommend it because you can get burnt out very easily. If you're going to watch a classic story then you should actually WATCH it, no phone, not other windows open, no nothing. Watch them part by part (~20 minutes each) until you feel yourself starting to lose attention. Give it a break for a while until you genuinely want to pick it up again.

time lords are all nonces

Hi Briggs! Can't wait for the new Sylvia Noble: Time War boxset! Good to see you're using /who/ to plug your ear-stories!

The thing about Who is that it's just 50 years of highs and lows, so you need to remind yourself how high it can get so you'll more gladly suffer through the lows. There's a reason you've heard of the classic stories that you have heard of, and there's plenty of reasons that you haven't heard of the stories that you haven't heard of, so keep that in mind. You'll find ones that you like and dislike on your own, but always temper your expectations and don't rigidly hold it to modern standards. The shitty effects are pure charm. Expect to have fun and you will.

Quick /who/!

Big Finish need you to pitch your crap spin-off idea to them! They're at the bottom of the barrel already but they need your help!

Bonus points if you can shoehorn the Time War, River Song or Paul McGann into it.

His adventures in WWI.
You know they've considered it.

Okay so River is investigating a bit of stolen tech that she's seen in a dodgy market when it turns out that it's a timelord teleporter type thing that as soon as you touch it you get sucked into the timewar. It's designed to get deserters who ran away back into the war. So the question is, who was it originally designed for? Who deserted and war, and why? River obviously tracks down 8 and they try to search the galaxy for the deserter.

>Remembrance of the Daleks
I'm rewatching all of 10 right now, but Remembrance of the Daleks is second on my list of stories to watch after I finish up. First on the list is Pyramids of Mars.
As for The Big Finish, it'll be a long while before I ever start that, which is why I'm not currently thinking about getting into 6. But I have a fuckload of audiobooks on the backburner that I'm currently reading along with paper novels. Hopefully I'll have plenty of time to do so during this current crisis.

Tbh honest anything towards the ends of Smith's run was dull (this was when I lapsed)
Rose/Sarah Jane (wish we could've seen her with 9)
Any/all of them

Starring Alex Kingston, Paul Mcgann, Jaqueline King, Tracy Ann-Oberman, Mark Bonner and Ken Bone

Thanks for the advice. I've been watching the Clever Dick videos and have really been wanting to get into the classic series.

Nigga I was just offering my advice, I don't know or care what your issue with Big Finish is bit don't hassle me about it, it's not my problem

That isn't the OG guy
, this is me

No. Honestly please watch 4's important stories before starting on 6/7. You'll enjoy them a lot more. And don't read/listen to any EU stuff before watching the TV stories of 6/7. Again you'll enjoy it all a lot more.

>No Nicholas Briggs

Please don't use that word on this general

Big Finish?

The Three K-9's
Leela's K-9, SJS K-9 and Romana's K-9 team up. This takes on place on Gallifrey because that's where 2 of them live and the ''current'' Doctor that appears is the 8.

which word, hassle?

Nigga please.

Audios are usually only an hour or two long, they're full audiobooks so I listen to them on the way to work/ Seven and Ace are great, she's one of the most interesting companions because she actually does shit without being told

I'm not even a fan of Captain Jack but he's gonna be the highlight of the new years day special.

8 and 9 meet, both blaming the other for The Time War and working through it while solving a mystery. Whatever alien shenanigans happen, both of them have the chance to end it through bloodshed, but pull each other out of it and come up with a peaceful solution.

Leela's is dead

Haven't you heard? The new years special has been "delayed indefinitely" because Chibnall has coronavirus

Sorry, my mistake, my phone autocorrected. I meant to type 'nigger'

Not true because it's already been filmed.

>No. Honestly please watch 4's important stories before starting on 6/7.
Ok, I'll do that. Makes enough sense. What would you recommend besides Pyramids of Mars?

The Toybox. A spin-off in which the Celestial Toymaker kidnaps people from all over time and space (sometimes OCs, sometimes characters from Classic and New Who) and forces them to play games against him.

You can watch any eps from S12/13 in any order but I'll recommend Pyramids, Genesis, and Terror of the Zygons, then you can watch Morbius if you want (spoiler warning: it's not as exciting as Chibnall seems to think).
Then when you're done with that watch Deadly Assassin.
After that I'd recommend Robots of Death, then pretty much all of S17 which is with Lalla Ward as the companion (particularly City of Death though). If you get through all that and you're not bored as fuck from how slow oldwho is, you can go and watch 3.

Perfect, and then 8th takes them on a road trip with Bessie

But tbf with 4 it's so easy to dip in and out of his eras. Same with 3. It becomes a bit more difficult with 5/6/7 because the show is full of self-referential stuff at that point.

How would you write the final episode of Doctor Who?

I would strongly recommend people watch An Unearthly Child and The Daleks, just to develop an appreciation for the series origins. You don't have to watch all of Hartnell at once, but it could end up one of your favourite eras, as it did for me.

But only episode 1 of An Unearthly Child.

Episodes 2-4 are a slog to get through.

Yeah, I wouldn't strongly blame anyone for skipping the caveman stuff. They propbably should have reduced that whole story by about two parts.

Almost exactly like Doctor Falls, only Bill's crying doesn't do anything, she just dies and Master does something to make the ship fall into black hole on his way to the tardis

>Doctor Who
>End
The final episode will be an hour long, and it'll be full of outrageous shit. River will be cuckolding The Doctor with every single celebrity guest that's ever been on the show (even the dead ones), with the entire episode just being River getting fucked one by one while The Doctor just sits in the corner, crying as he jerks off and eats Jelly Babies.

The B-plot will be Clara becoming transgender, then kicking The Brigadeer in the balls nonstop. No cutaways or anything, it's literally just Caleb (FtM Clara) kicking The Brigadeer in the balls while screaming about he needs to check his cis white male privilege. Every single person in the universe will take her side, especially the celebrity guests who are fucking River.

It ends with every single incarnation of The Doctor insulting the viewers for being such fucking idiots for continuing to keep the show on the air, then they all have an Time Lord orgy right in the middle of the TARDIS before vomiting all over each other and slicing their throats. K9 is getting raped by The Master right outside the TARDIS. Then Osgood walks on screen, waves his hands, and says "That's all, folks!"

The next 40 minutes are just the writers giving up: videos of them shitting on each other, having a huge orgy while covered in shit, footage of people getting shot in the head, footage of babies being skinned alive and fucked, etc. You name it, they have it all. The final 10 minutes are just Chris Chibnall high as balls on every drug imaginable, screaming into the camera about how much he hates his life before pulling out a shotgun and blowing his fucking brains out all over the wall.

It'll end up being so viewed and talked about, that it renews Doctor Who for another 10 seasons.
