Goyer’s multiple flashbacks. While Snyder gives the alien’s feats a quality of wonder, Cavil conveys surprise, urgency and torment. Snyder is good at the physics of stress (The Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole is a masterpiece, I promise you) which separates Man of Steel from The Dark Knight trilogy.

BvS would’ve been regarded higher by everyone if not for the overly long cgi troll fight at the end. It was an okay movie up until there and now my memory of it is always a bit tainted by how it chose to end. It was the last impression for many I would wager. Superman sucks in those movies in general but Batman and Wonder Woman was looking like a good duo going forward.
