Was it good or is it just nostalgia?
Was it good or is it just nostalgia?
The show is lame but Serenity is a pretty good film.
It was mediocre
It came out around the time that network television was starting to spam cheap reality tv over actual TV shows. In that era, compared to everything else it was pretty damn good yes.
I used to love Firefly and now I can't tell if it's actually bad or if I just hate Joss Whedon
Everyone kinda hates Joss Whedon but he has the chops for television. I kinda feel bad for the guy, he pushed his feminism angle well before it was cool, then got thrown out by that crowd after cheating on his wife, but he was at least sleeping with people without raping them unlike the every other producer and director in hollywood.
theres one episode i can think of that was kind of fun but beyond that it was extremely medeocre hipster babies first sci fi with prostitutes who are glorified and tough women of colour!!!
Both.
It's pretty okay. Also Hendricks tiddies.
I wish i could come up with something decent to write about this show that could spur this thread to thrive but all i can say is that i like the show and think it ended way too prematurely
one of my favorite tv shows of all time
this, but i have good memories of watching it while being comfy
Where Christina's milkers appear is always good
Funny thing is, her "milkers" weren't that big in Firefly....but she did have that MPDG thing going on.
>her "milkers" weren't that big in Firefly....
BRUH you need a rewatch. Saffron is very jiggly.
Oh I know she's got dem tittes....but she didn't sell hard like she did in Mad Men.
She knows how to milk them
She was pretty young there, no? Also hers just keep growing with age.
It's a Cowboy Bebop ripoff.
>that underboob
>that nipple
Goddamn.
It was awesome. Rebuilt the cowboy schtick in America from the ground up. Pretty much for pussies in most people's minds before this. Or dumbass white rap niggers.
Also brought back rebel outlaws as a good thing again. Protagonists were either truly miserable people or goody two shoes for a while before Joss found the balance and mastered it with this series.
Just pure fun. The movie was even better.
I don't think Firefly really lived up to its promise but at least it *had* promise.
correct answers.
for such a short lived TV show it sure has more than its fair share of filler episodes
>oh we are drifting in space again
Serenity is an incredibly good movie though, it's extremely underrated
Not enough episodes to start being great or bad, so we will never know.
It was unironically some of the best spaceship kino. Too good for its time, and the only good thing Whedon has ever done.
>best character: Jayne
>best episode: Jaynestown
It was very good and the movie was fantastic. Also I miss the Summer Glau threads on Yas Forums
We've been here too long.
astutely observed
It was entertaing but I never liked it because the world and character made no sense.
World kind of made sense because they colonized the system Soviet Union style, if you spam enough ships with colonists hopefully some will survive. Of course they will basically revert to nigger mode in the process because you didn't give them any serious technology, but once they build some infrastructure and become self sustainable you can start sending soldiers to create some sort of order, maybe start some trade or something
It's kino, won't convince me otherwise
It was fucking SHITE.
Legitimately good, also the board games are absolutely based.
>19th century United States but IN SPACE
I liked it, girls were cute too
it had a lot of potential sci fi shows usually take a while to find their feet. And this was pretty fine right off the bat.
It was good.
Cancellation may have been a blessing, it was cancelled before it could become bad.
Its terrrible
I really tried, its shit
heard the movie was better
i will say the lore and world building was pretty decent
Do you think i
Direfly
No idea Satan, although I imagine he was pretty sad when she hit the wall
Honestly it's just cast that bothers me. It would make sense if they were legit space truckers for a big company stuck together, but as self-employed criminals it's not believable they would work together.
I think it was genuinely good. Not perfect, but it was a charming space adventure with decent production values. Compared to a lot of other shit around then it was a breath of fresh air. Really damn good production values for the time/budget.
They're all outlaws who hate the government, I don't see how this is difficult to understand
it was a bunch of cool things poorly strung together and would not have lasted
>Love firefly
>Watch it again
>Realize how pozzed it is
Aside from the cringe inducing "prostitution is a respectable profession" garbage I don't see how it's all that pozzed by modern standards
where is she now?
busy being my wife :3
married and raising babies like a woman should
It was good, and so was Serenity. The reason it's beloved so much is because it got cancelled too early so much of its appeal is "what could've been"
That and because Whedon's name recognition was peaking and Buffy was hugely influential
feminism
everything is pozzed according to these faggots
It's scifi for people who hate scifi.
Yes Whedon's work is feminist, but fortunately it's surface level feminism written by a guy who is actually into femdom and being stepped on and the "feminism" shit is just a convenient cover
That doesn't even make sense
>strongman of the ship is a black woman
The ship's muscle is Jayne tho
I bet half the fans of firefly haven't even seen another scifi tv show at all.
I'm a Firefly fan and I've watched shit tons of sci fi. I think you just don't like the show and want to discredit people who do
most of the episodes are underwritten and too slow and vaguely have cucked undertones except the one with the prostitute house stealing some guys baby which is just fucking over the top feminist. some episodes are actually good and the characters are good minus the typical joss whedoning aspect
Which ones do you think Joss casting couched?
>Aside from the cringe inducing "prostitution is a respectable profession"
It was more of a hint on various high class whores of the past, be it geishas or ancient Greek hetairas. They often existed in past and often even accumulated political powers and become respected. It's nothing really new, just illiterate faggot marking everything he doesn't understand as pozzed.
>"We’re on a year now, I ain’t had nothing ‘twixt my nethers weren’t run on batteries."
Based Kaylee.
>Farscape
Absolutely patrician.
Wasn't it a well known rumor that Summer Glau is basically this?
