What went so damn right?
Black Sails

Fuck this board lol, I remember when Yas Forums used to be enthousiastic about things.
how close were they to calling it Dark Sails?
The pirates have the vocabulary of Oxbridge dons. So irresistible.
>t. el muenstro
The soundtrack was beyond kino
The second to last episode of Season 2 is one of the best episodes of television ever made
>Nick Cave starts playing Leonard Cohen
the casting
are you kidding me?
only season 1 was good
there's no noticable drop in quality through the length of this show
>you will never sail against engl*nd and live on a libertarian tropical island
Feels fucking bad man.
season 3 and 4 are outright bad, fuck you
Quality literally only goes up throughout the series.
It had a set ending point to reach and didn’t drag on unnecessarily. Surprising amount of practical effects with actual ships being built for production.
This too. I never skipped the intro
Season 3 punished Flint with death visions in the doldrums was absolutely kino
you have no taste whatsoever
I bet you think the Maroons were forced diversity.
Excellent show, one of my all times favorites, i'm even willing to overlook the buttpirate part
Okay I'll bite, what's worse about seasons 3 and 4?
I would love a fan edit that cuts away the French girl shit completely. What a waste of screen time that was.
Butt pirates was based and made sense for the character
>stop liking what i dont like
literally you
the plot
the added characters
the change in the setting (from coastal US cities to jungle shit)
I rushed season 4, should rewatch it tbqh. I remember i quite liked the first 3 seasons...even when the based captain turned a faggot (undermining his based status) it did not felt forced like 99% of tv nowadays but part of the story.
Maybe some roastie felt a bit forced into the show for "gurl powa" pink quotas but whatever. Again, I probably should rewatch it.
They go to Charleston ONCE in the first two seasons and then go to Boston ONCE in series 4. What are you on about?
im not telling you to stop liking it, im just stating that you have a shit taste
>the plot
Why the fuck are you on a discussion board for tv when that is your response. Jesus christ you'd get more out of conversing with a flower pot.
based & btfo
Toby Stephens is based.
>the change in setting
this just further proofs that flints idea to take the navy on in the jungle was a brilliant idea, it uneases the wrongthinkers
>Damn, how are they going to rescue him from this situation?
>Okay, there's the pirates they're coming out to help him
>He's gonna give an inspirational speech and they'r-oh
lol I have to try this sometime
Flint carries the show. I've never seen rage so well embodied in a character. He almost never loses control. He's just so damn mad that he doesn't stop.
>yfw you found out Vane's actor was an american
looking forward to you getting stabbed
>What are you on about?
bait
>Treasure Island prequel kino
What other works would make for kinography?
i may be off here but i always thought that billy let him die just so that flint would have one less ally but it was never brought to light other than to start some silent revolution ( what the fuck are drunken farmers gonna do against the navy anyway? )
>ynr that time he played a younger Clint Eastwood
>Toby "Either poo in loo or I skewer you" Stephens
>tfw no Flint bf
It was, especially this track. You are a patrician user.
I like watching Luke Arnold on easy allies streams
Black Sails is complete shit.
It’s a show women made for women.
You sound so gay it hurts my eyes. Goddamn what a flaming faggot.
t. closet homo
What is this from? Look like one of those Sean Bean Sharpe movies
The show is suppose to set up the Treasure Island book, which it does.
Man, I kinda wish we got 4 seasons of Treasure Island as a sequel series
Yeah Sharpe's Challenge I think it is, one of the later not that great ones.
Luke Arnold needs to age a bit first
>you actually like cilantro?
>wow, I already knew you were a faggot, but you're also a nigger?
Nah, it is like The Hobbit compared to LOTR. The Hobbit is a kid's story and so is Treasure Island. Both are good stories but not gritty adult stories. Check out Treasure Island (1950), it is made by Disney so it is family friendly, but Robert Newton who played Long John Silver created the template for modem depictions of pirates in his fever dream interpretation of the character.
>show women made for women
if they made a show for real men who would even watch it? their women wouldn't let them, these "men" are not even allowed to fast forward the relationship "love triangles" (read: cuckery) in all media these days. sad.
the only issue i had with the show is that the characters seemed to change sides a bit too much, which i guess it's apropriate since they're thieves and all but sometimes it just seemed sudden, at least that's what i felt at the time, i def need to rewatch it
What went right
>Male cast is interesting
>Great action
>Cool story bits
What went wrong
>Everything else
>That fucking ending
We just don't want to educate you about how a compelling story with honest to god motives turned out to be driven by pure homolust and feminist propaganda
also
>MUH MADDY
What went right? The show turned into absolute trash towards the end
And the faggotry was painfully forced
Says the faggot
>being this unobservant
Allow me to summarize this show.
Good parts: The cast are on a boat.
Bad parts: The cast aren't on a boat.
It was funny how I was annoyed by Charles Vane in season 1 about the way he acts like a cartoon villain, everything about him is over the top, even the way he speaks, but he turns out to be my favorite throughout the seasons along with ma boi jack.
Blackbeard was wasted though
I agree especially about Blackbeard being completely wasted
Black Sails is one of those rare series where you kind of miss it when its over because the setting of boats and pirates was quite nice.
came to post this
I didn't mind the homo plot because we got so many boobs as well, great fucking show
I fucking love BOATS
This.
and personally it lacked that 'Epic' feel to it, the opening of On Stranger Tides with the pirates being hanged singing the pirate song had a more epic feel than the whole series.
i binged it until they were locked up by the ex slaves and i burned out. is it worth coming back to it?
>Boats
Always makes me laugh.
