LET'S WATCH DEATH OF HOPE P1 WHILST WE WAIT !
youtube.com/watch?v=x9wV2sGlXjY

I thought some Russian dude hacked his account

he's back

no idea. he might have said somewhere

ive watched it about 20 times already haha

This one took him 9 months. Last one took him 4-5 months. He probably worked on a lot of them in tandem of course so overall each part alone probably takes like half a year or so.

The guy had his channel hacked or something so it delayed this by a bit

Lol Girlyman is such a pussy he lied to get Cypher arrested for trying to wake the Lion. Can’t take the presence of a real man.

I imagine teh spess marines will btfo whatever is in the vault. Hardly gripping stuff. Couldn't the psykers have killed at least one of the dudes

bump

How does ONE guy outdo entire studios?

soul

Astartes has flexed so hard on Death of Hope it isn't even funny. The guy promised so much and put out a horribly animated, edgy mess with terrible voice and sound design while ranting about "muh true fans."

Meanwhile the Astartes guy kinda came out of nowhere and has done a product that is 100x better.

So we get to find out what's in the vault? I hope it's a Chaos Dreadnought.

It's Vulkan

i still can't believe its one fucking guy doing these.

Because he cares about It and enjoys it

Why has Games Workshop not signed this guy up to make an official movie.

so lads how do you get into warhammer? I have played some games but I dont know where to start

watch if the emperor had a text to speech device

step 1: have lots of disposable income

i used to be of the mindset that fans could never be true creators but i'm questioning that stance since Sonic Mania came out

Angels of Death looks good for CG but Eisenhorn will be live action

when covid is over go to a warhammer store

Finally.

This. Eventually watch Luetin videos and then Major Kill for funny lore recaps.

GeeDubs moves relatively slowly, but they have gotten better at hiring people out of the fandom.

They probably don't want to rush him too much as they hired the guy who did Helsreach to do a series for them and they don't want to pull in another Youtube guy before that in case it's an absolute flop.

GW are (were?) blatantly afraid to front the cash for a movie/TV show
Astartes and Death Of Hope have potentially changed that by making them look stupid and showing them the CGI options are still on the table. Anything Avatar/Star Wars tier that combines live action with high quality CGI is still a long way off. Like i said, i dont think GW have the balls to front the cash

DOH is longer and therefore i enjoy it more. the first two episodes of Astartes were literally irrelevant.

Play Dawn of War 1 & 2 and Space Marine

No. Fuck that stupid little one joke show.

Luetin09 has great lore videos on youtube. start there. heres a great place to start
youtube.com/watch?v=KyPjE1Sn-Ts

if you enjoy the lore, you can get to grips with the novels and enjoy them too

Lionel Johnson was a repressed homosexual

Ted Cruze is the Zodiac Killer

>Space Marine
unfathomably unquestionably based
youtu.be/bmKFHfxrFNk

>Anything Avatar/Star Wars tier that combines live action with high quality CGI is still a long way off. Like i said, i dont think GW have the balls to front the cash
>Eisenhorn will be live action
shit, i forgot about Eisenhorn

DoW 1 and the exp packs were my introduction to 40k as well.
From there, I jumped into the miniatures and even more games.

>Luetin09 has great lore videos on youtube. start there. heres a great place to start

this is the only correct answer desu

Two words: Thunder Hammer...youtube.com/watch?v=AbtTFKlKLF0

>nurglites yesterday infecting everyone
>now we have Astartes kino
>The Lion might come back next

Is this the year of the 40k?

I wish people still played Space Marine on Xbox....

It's not just a cash thing, it is also a matter of creative control. Say what you will about GW, but they are very protective of the IP. When film studios shopped around GW, they often wanted to make a lot of changes they believed would help it in the movies or whatever. And it's not just basic changes either, but closer to how the Mario movies went back in the day. GW didn't agree and things fell through. Now, with the rise of Netflix, Amazon, etc and since Nerdy stuff is so "in," and some studios have recognized that you can let things stay true to the source material and still make money.

Compare this to say, video games, where generally the developers stick with the rules of the IP and GW is willing to hand out the license to just about anyone.

This is entirely based on a two hour chat I had with one of the license managers at WHW about two years ago.

>spoiler
Fuck no, still better than Russ but fuck no

Eisenhorn is a really solid test bed for this, it essentially has none of the more 'problematic' aspects of the IP.

There are "Start collecting!" boxes which are very good value and let you make an army if its something you want to venture in

Thank God, finally.

Exactly. It is also a story that, for what it's worth, can be done cheaply and with relatively easy sets.

>i forgot about Eisenhorn

Im expecting a Picard tier disaster.

I'm worried about Eisenhorn, brothers. Will they water down the zealotry and tyranny of the Imperium and make it generic "dark" scifi?

I hope it doesn't get pozzed

Do what is saying, read stuff on lexicanum, for maximum shit post on 1d4chan or books

Never got into 40K here, these videos made me pretty interested. What 40K related media would you guys reccomend?

This is now a Tau thread.

Attached: 1315504423458.jpg (399x548, 78.43K)

Like and said Eisenhorn has basically nothing objectionable in it, it's basically Abnett copy pasting a thriller he wrote into 40k

Attached: 1533236049511.jpg (960x960, 121.73K)

Dawn of War 1 feels off to me after retribution. Campain and skirmish do not feel very strategic.
Maybe it's different in multiplayer.
Read the Codex/Army book of the race you think is the coolest. Then read up on what interests you from there. They are all over on /tg/.

Attached: 1584936858744.jpg (800x615, 473.8K)

Video games are a great soft entry
Space marine
Dawn of war 1 and 2
battlefleet gothic
mechanicus
Gladius

sadly warhammer franchise in general is wasted potential when it comes to media but if the games make you interested in the setting you can then branch out into novels, tabletop, wikis etc

Why would they? Letting him do fan projects is effectively risk free for them. The guy literally just gets a bunch of money from patreon every month and that's basically fulltime pay.

BRUVVAS, what's your favourite novels?

>hardmode: no Horus Heresy

for me, it's The Space Wolf series (no spoilers pls, ive only just finished Wolfblade)

>mechanicus
No you fuck

Attached: Q7SNBHQ_d.jpg (470x465, 19.48K)

unironically this

Skaven army book, 6th edition.

Total Warhammer is great, but you're right about everything else being trash.

>The Space Wolf series

ABSOLUTE kino.
Haegr was fucking hilarious

He has an even bigger marine boner than the GW shareholders.

Eisenhorn, it isn't even a contest.

>youtube chat was spreading fortify/siege memes for like an hour
fucking hell, how autistic WH fans can be?
not gonna lie, it was funny as hell

NINTEN- I MEAN GAMES WORKSHOP HIRE THIS MAN

Thanks for that tier list. I just got into the Horus Heresy autism

Attached: HHSeriesOrder.jpg (4083x4000, 1.25M)

people keep telling me the Horus Heresy is a bad place to start but I already own it
should I just put it off until after I've read Eisenhorn?

>Haegr was fucking hilarious
LOL

...Ragnar, you doubt the strength of mighty Haegr ?
*throws hammer 50ft into darkness*
*splat*

I got the Saturnine Limited Edition yesterday but missed the First Wall. Gonna risk Nurgle tomorrow and go buy it.

Non-WH40K Nerd here, I have little knowledge of this universe, so I want to know, how big LITERALLY are the characters in 40K? The fight between the Space Marines and those guys, they are at equal heights, and I've seen the graphic showing size differences between Marines and Guardsmen.

I guess what I'm asking is, is everything in 40K battles supposed to be gargantuan in scale?

It's Brothers of the Snake or you're some kind of faggot

>limited edition dan abnett kino
nice

they are very big guys

IT ONLY TOOK NURGLE ATTACK EARTH FOR THEM TO RELEASE THE FIFTH ONE

>7 minute long video.
No wonder he took it so long to finish it. The other shorts are short, but looks like this one is long. Damn, im excited.

40k fluff is BIG so kids can argue about powerlevels online.
The actual game is small scale skirmishes.

I can't believe I used to think this was funny.

Yes, they have apocalyptic battles, fleets of billions of soldiers invading entire planets. You'd have to give every single human on earth right now a rifle in order to stop a WAGGHHH right now.

yeah

well id say the logical thing to do is: get to grips with the lore like this user said once you understand even the most basic lore, any novels are going to be a lot more enjoyable.

after understanding the lore id probably suggest a series like Space Wolf to newcomers because the main character Ragnar starts off a bit like a newcomer, he has no idea about the broader universe outside of his little island home on Fenris.... and then he is chosen to become a Space Marine.
Eisenhorn is good, Horus Heresy is a long series. I'm not sure which would be better to start with.

yes

Attached: UFFSr35[1].jpg (1324x1000, 296.63K)

>is everything in 40K battles supposed to be gargantuan in scale?
yes. At least in terms of numbers. Things are big but they aren't big just for the sake of being big. A space marine is big because he needs to be big. A guardsman is just a normal guy and can't be bigger than what you'd expect from a normal human. The real shit is the fact that there are trillions of guardsmen and they can deploy to fight wars for entire planets.

Eisenhorn without a doubt. Gaunt's Ghost's Necropolis is solid too

Night Lords omnibus for Traitor marine hijinks and adventures in the shadows.

In Soul Hunter, when Vraal goes to the Hall of Remembrance to prevent Malcharion's revival:

Of course, this new plan to awaken Malcharion had to be put down with tact.
With nuance.
With subtlety.
Vraal's claws slid from the sheaths on his gauntlets. They sparked and crackled, wreathed in killing lightning.
"Brothers!" he called joyously into the vox. "Everyone in this room is going to die!"

Why are there strippers up there?

They are statues

I am a sucker for the night lord trilogy

The Ciaphas Cain series. Such a perfect balance of awesome and hilarity, featuring the best character in the entire 40k universe.

because like wizards of the coast, lucasfilm etc..., they have been co-opted by woke influences as they have become increasingly mainstream

wont be long before we have a tranny space marine

You can have small skirmishes or battles of millions of soldiers each side.

I've had this collection and the Eisenhorn one for awhile, but never bit the bullet. Any input on where the better start would be?

Remember 2001: A Space Odyssey? The Emperor is Dave

I remember when I was still active playing, I found some gifs and used them in a german tabletop forum. These gifs were exactly the scene when the marines move through halls on their ship. That was maybe 15 or 20 years ago. The guy must have played around with the idea of making a fan movie and created assets and such for years and years.

Nobody but tau players like tau

We're almost there already.

Wait until 9th edition comes out this summer and then pick up the introductory box with a couple of armies/rules.

>how big LITERALLY are the characters in 40K?
>I guess what I'm asking is, is everything in 40K battles supposed to be gargantuan in scale?

If you've seen the graphic showing the size difference between Astartes and normal humans then you already have an understanding of that.

to answer your question, i'll give you an example: A Tyranid Hive Fleet is absurdly huge. If a major planet in the Imperium was threatened by Tyranid invasion it would be akin to Coruscant in Star Wars arming the entire planet in preparation of its defence.
not every battle in 40k is gargantuan, but ... yeah...

A well known planet called Cadia was destroyed recently when GW updated the lore. It had a population of
850,000,000. The defence mounted was HUGE and even as the planet broke apart, there was still fighting on the surface.

Attached: 40k4.jpg (1023x575, 44.68K)

BIG is what practically defines 40K. It's its biggest draw.

Attached: 1522232458746.jpg (410x410, 17.27K)

Tau will flourish as a Necron vassal.

One man cannot make a movie of this quality. You wouldn't see the end result in 30 years.
