Because almost everyone likes dogs. Its not a hard concept to grasp.

I guess it's because they're a formula that is cheap and easy to make that sells. Kid sees this cover at the store, wants it and mom and dad buys it. I guess kids like dogs. Dogs are cute.

I like how you can guess exactly every beat of the movie just by looking at the cover.

A not insignificant chunk of my "Shitposters" folder is just bargain bin dog films.

Why does every dog film seem to have some dogshit cover? Couldn’t they make one that doesn’t make me want to gouge my eyes out with a blunt key?
April 2, 2020 - 17:39
Out of the question.

At least this kind of movie can exist without a knowing wink to the audience and expectation subversion

>that scene where firehouse dog doesn't even attempt to rescue the black family trapped in a burning building and just let's them burn to death while he watches and smiles

Three stooges/home alone/generic dog movie. Looks kino.

A truly divisive masterpiece. I still get flashbacks and I'm pretty sure I have ptsd from it, but it was worth it The lesser-known, seldom appreciated spiritual sequel. Arguably even more controversial but i notice most film critics refused to even watch it
