P.I guy and Sukeban girl instantly clash given how they're on opposite sides of the law. But the more they get to know each other the more they realise how much they have in common.
8 and the PI learn a lot from each other (they're both "not-quite" policemen) and become good bros, 8 helps the PI escape cynisism with his trademark charm and optimism.
They both become surrogate fathers and teach the sukeban girl with their different worldviews. 8 is good cop, PI is bad cop.
At the end of their era, the PI and the girl leave and work together as partners, solving cases all around the world. Yes, after their experiences together, the now optmistic PI becomes like the Doctor and gets his own companion. it's pottery

I can't recommend them to you enough, user. Lalla and main cast are basically always great and Juliet does have an interesting, alien take on Romana, even if she's not there that much
