Are there any fan edits of movies worth watching?
Fan edited movies
Other urls found in this thread:
no, none. sorry
The fan edits for the Star Wars prequels are okay.
no, they're not. i already answered the question, no need to post in my thread
that despecialized star wars OT is ok and the tolkien cut of the hobbit which condenses the movies in 4 hours. Also there is some prometheus I + II mashup that some people found worthwile but I couldn't be bothered.
no i think the other user was right, there are none. he did say 'sorry', too - hope that softens the blow haha!
The descpecialized Star Wars trilogy isn't really a fan "edit" , imo. It's more of a fan restoration in spirit.
samefagging this hard
The matrix has some. Kung fu vs robots is pretty great.
Spicediver's dune is good too.
look here pal, the question was answered. don't. post. how hard can it be?
Even so. Phantom Edit and Attack of the phantom are both decent. Honestly they were the things that really taught me how important the editor is in the process.
The commentary tracks that come with both edits is pretty informative as well if you're interested in the craft itself.
sorry bud, i know you're trying to help but the question was actually already answered here so you look kinda stupid having posted something different. i'll let you off this time
fan edits are rough because mostly all you can do is subtract finished shots from the movie. That kind of editing is an incredibly late stage in the filmmaking process, and you don't have access to the same resources the filmmakers do (i.e. the literal work, not just money), so there's very little you can do to polish a turd
The Alien 3 fan cut is better than the theatrical cut, but that's not saying much.
True, combining two or more shitty movies into one on the other hand may yield good results. The tolkien cut is pretty good compared to the original movies.
guys. getting real sick of your shit. the question was ANSWERED and, honestly, you look real dumb replying when the question was already ANSWERED in a previous post. the answer is the same as the amount of brains you have: "NO"
Pulp Fiction: The Chronological Cut is pretty fun, a fresh way to watch a movie you've seen a million times over. It gives a neat perspective on the pacing of the story.
You actually have autism.
I have found these to be good:
>Hal9000 edits of Star Wars prequel trilogy
>Maple Films edit of The Hobbit movies (cant remember if this is the same as the already mentioned Tolkien Cut)
Heard good about these, not watched yet:
>Star Wars: The Blackened Mantle
>Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me Q2 Extended Edit
I've seen a fan edit of Pet Sematary. When i downloaded it i thought it was an official alternate version. I actually prefer over the original.
Don't give the retard (You)s.
There's a Fire Walk With Me fanedit that restores most of the deleted scenes and it's miles better than the original. The parts with David Bowie actually make sense.
Every reply you post becomes more and more uncomfortable to read. You don't even realize how embarrassing you are.
Just watch the missing pieces, edited by lynch to be a supplemental film.
The Maple Films Hobbit edit that condenses it to 4 hours is the only way to watch that trilogy
considering not bothering to post next time if you assholes are just going to ignore my answer like this. really disrespectful, and makes you look like idiots to the others! once again - NO, the answer is NO and any other answer is INCORRECT.

I hope you get raped by a pack of niggers user
Fanedits that know what they can and can't do can work. Trim bad bits, maybe reinsert some good deleted stuff, keep it focused on improving, not remaking which you can't do with limited footage.
Hello newfriend, I don't know if its your first time on Yas Forums, but nobody cares who you are, or what you think. We post as 'anonymous' which means that any one poster isnt more important than another. If you want a false sense of self importance, maybe even a user name, try reddit! Just trying to be helpful and direct you to a site that might be more suited to your conversation style. Happy posting!
yeah, i don't give two hoots about the insults. lord knows it can hard accepting that there are no good fan edits (THE ANSWER IS NO), but at least you guys aren't making absolute CLOWNS out of yourself by suggesting otherwise. so bring it on, brothers. i can take your slings and arrows just DON'T FUCKING suggest for a SINGLE SECOND that there are good fan edits because that question has ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED
There are exceptions to this though. The Hobbit trilogy is a fucking mess. The Maple Films edit takes that trilogy and narrows its presentation to focus as close to the narrative that Tolkien actually wrote in The Hobbit as is possible given the source material. It isn't jarring because all the editor did was take out the excessive fluff and filler that was in the films across three movies and focus the narrative exclusively on Bilbo and his journey.
NO. NO DISCUSSION, NO FUCKING TALKING, NO FUCKING ANYTHING YOU CUNT
question was answered already. it was answered and you missed it you FUCK. get over it and quit making a fool of yourself DICK
You didnt mention whether or not you liked the Chronological Cut of Pulp Fiction. Although that's less of a fan edit and more of a tribute project because it's only enjoyable if you already love the original. But anyways, in conclusion you're a faggot
Pulp fiction in chronological order

Rise of the Rebellion by DigModiFicaTion (Rogue One)
Star Wars OT Harmy's Despecialized Editions
The War of the Stars A New Hope Grindhoused by The Man Behind The Mask
The War of the Stars II The Future In Motion by The Man Behind The Mask

Cyborg (Six Million Dollar Man and Bionic Woman)
Dragon Ball Recut (It's a fan "Kai" of the first half of Dragon Ball with both sub and dub)
Not sure about fan edits but watch Backstroke of the West if you want a fan dub that makes the film infinitely more entertaining.
I love that a bunch of chinese bootleggers decided that they needed English subtitles for the movie already in English, but instead of using the script (which they must have had in order to make their shitty subtitles) they poorly re-translated their bad subtitles back into English. It's truly an experience.
The Giftbearer Prometheus cut was like an expanded, better version of Prometheus.
I love the Twin peaks fan edit except for the random scenes with the shows ensemble that really belong nowhere in the movie.
The ones I come back to are the Twin Peaks FWWM and the Back to the Future Bootstrap edition.
Also does anyone have the Excorcist 3 exit? The link on fanedit is dead.
Heima (2007) On yt there's version without the retarded interviews
TLJ and Avengers edit where the guy cut out women and minorities.
>Dooku enters the room with Palpatine, Anakin, and Obi wan
>Palpatine: you two careful, he is a big
>Obi wan: Mr speaker, we are for the big
Truly a fucking classic and I'm going to watch it again now.
NOOOOOO it's been answered already
Hows the Jaws one go?
Hard to think how that film could be recut.
Autism-kun ;_;
this user has sex
The most kino edit is Pulp Empire.
FUCK YOU I WON'T DO WHAT YOU TELL ME

The Hal9000 Phantom Menace turns it into a legitimately good film, still has the classic Star Wars feel because it's not reliant on CGI setpieces and uses quite a bit of practical effects. Episode II is an improvement but is still pretty choppy.
I'm looking forward to fan edits that can radically change ideas with AI learning for deepfakes and voice recreation, or advanced CGI.
>Goh Haumm Gaym-Mahrgurl
Wtf was this guy saying?
The Hobbit: The Original Two-Film Structure (Gathering of the Clouds and There and Back Again) is much better than the actual Hobbit Trilogy, really cuts down on the Elf and Lake-Town subplots that they added to pad the running time, and it feels seemless, you really can't tell that it's an amateur edit.
LMAO there was that russian edit of Avengers Endgame where the "muh women" scene was removed. Along with quips too I think.
God I hate slavs.
I've been looking for a link to Watchmen: Midnight. Not sure if it'd be any good because it looks like it was edited to be completely accurate to the comics, backstory features and all, but at the very least the color correcting looks really good. I wonder if someone will make a Squid Cut of the Watchmen movie now that the HBO show gave us footage of it.
I can appreciate a fanedit if it serves as a "director's cut" for a film that was radically altered from its original vision by the studio, and never got a proper go. As long as its done well that is.
Like there's a edit of Batman Forever that restores (and completes since they left in parts of it) key subplots that were darker than the campier parts, toned down said campy parts. Not removing but just the most weird bits, and restored a bunch more deleted stuff. The resulting film was still Batman Forever, but it felt a lot more like a sequel to Batman and Batman Returns. A lot of the darker tone was left over from when Burton was expected to helm the third film, somewhere along the way they made it much lighter and sillier after the mixed reaction to Returns.
Nothing you can do with Batman & Robin, it was always camp craziness from the start, it's fundamentally wacky.
I wonder if someone could do an edit of Batman Returns that replaces Max Schreck with Harvey Dent since Catwoman burning him at the end of the film was supposed to be Two-Face's origin.
