The best and comfiest science fiction show, from the golden age of sci-fi.
Best characters, best relationships, best costumes and best character development. Great and actual portrayal of strong independent women.
Could not be made today.
Extreamly rewatchable.
See it if you haven't.
Farscape Thread
It couldn't be made today because none of those practical effects houses exist outside of del Taco's people.
Another thread so soon? Based.
How similar in tone to Stargate SG1?
Great show, but Babylon 5 is slightly better.
fite me
More generally serious, but the goofy shit is about par with the trippiest episode of SG1. Way less episodic in comparison, especially after season 1.
I want to marry Chiana.
I've tried rewatching it recently and barely made it to the begging of season 2. I'd rewatched Lexx before that and honestly seasons 1-3 still hold up nicely.
How many of them are already deceased?
of the ones in the pic, 6 i think
garibaldi, g'kar, vir, sinclair, dr franklin, zack and based zathras. lots of other minor one/two episode actors you don't care about.
Don't be retarded user. It was made by jim henson studios who just released the dark crystal last year.
Can't wait for soulless Netflix remake with a black lead.
Ooh boy.
Crackers don't matter
Atleast it'll be puppet kino so who cares about the actual live actors.
Farscape is superior.
Cop porn
Crackers don’t matter still holds up.
Harvey’s first appearance is just as golden
Farscape
Babylon 5
Stargate SG-1
all kino
not going to lie, I'm a sucker for "aliens go to Earth and don't understand how things work" episodes
also Claudia Black was so fucking hot
Yeah sure why not
I didn't know Steven Furst died! RIP Vir.
>My name is John Crichton
>A black man
I Love you.
>black man
>inventing wormhole travel
Its a good flipping of the script since Crichton is perpetually the fish out of water.
Based, too bad it’s pretty much impossible to have a Babylon 5 thread.
The new plot is him figuring a way to dodge child support and court summons.
Moya can actually get back to earth at any time, but his mission is to repeatedly sabotage her so she goes the wrong way

women gravitate to the bbc as usual.
I like them both, almost equally... aaaalthough I think B5 wins just slightly. They also have a common problem: the last season is kinda of a mess without any momentum but they had their understandable production reasons.
B5 final season is a bit up and down yeah, but the finale itself is GOAT.
Oh yes, Sleeping Is Light is one of the best finales ever and the actual fall of Centauri isn't bad, especially when Jurasik and Katsulas are in the same room.
Gimme dat wormhole technology f am.
>scenes that would never be made today because CGI is cheap
>tfw we got Wayne as Tarkin in episode 3, but he never got any lines
>CGI is cheap
retard
reminds me of the episode of farscape where Claudia Black was wearing Chiana's corset.
Very based Babylon 5 has just the right mix of sci fi ingredients. Battlestar Galactica is a close second
It's cheaper than practical effects, that's why it's done more today.
The production quality on B5 has always been a problem for me. It reminds me o of those FMV video games from the 90's.
in a lot of cases it is cheaper to outsource some cgi firm to fill in backgrounds over the man hours it costs to have people build full sets or go film on location.
based
thanks going to rewatch now
WEAK SPECIES!
SUPERIOR
nice, im on the last season right now. harvey in weird clothes is always good for a chuckle
>best villain is also the best comic relief
It’s absolutely amazing how they pulled it off
official farscape waifu rating:
Aeryn > Zhaan > Sikozu > Chiana > the female hynerion > the three-eyed witch whose name I forgot > Jool
Maldis mogs them all.
In the case of that shot, they busted a giant water tank through a wall with pyrotechnics shooting off and hoped that Scorpius didn't slip on the stairs, because there wouldn't be a second take. Today that shot is done with green screens and CGI, they would never do it with real effects.
>sickly looking grandpa prancing around in a gimp suit
>still manages to be menacing when needed
a true testament to the quality of the show
Zhaan was good.
they nailed scorpious dead on in casting, writing, and appearance. he is a top tier antagonist.
yeah at most they'd have a small tank on the floor for him to stand in so he's interacting with water, the stairs and back would all be filled in.
So which one died? The clone or the real John?
I liked Battlestar Galactica because it was about politics, psychology, humankind and it treated those subjects seriously with grittiness. But due to the writers strike the show is really messy at moments and the ending is fucking stupid. Farscape is about other things but still really makes you think and all in all it's a more well rounded show with a satisfactory conclusion.
I thought this was going to be a gimmick, but it was handled really well. Glad it went on as long as it did and it made Aeryn's position really interesting.
Holy trinity of Farscape.
>it made Aeryn's position really interesting.
getting dp'd?
one early 2000s sci fi show that isnt mentioned much is andromeda. i really enjoy this show as well- up until season 3 or 4 when the tv studio theyre under goes up for sale and they switch to a different network or whatever. those last 2 seasons are utter dogshit.
plus lexa doug, i had a huge crush on her
Weren't they going to make a second movie?
They sort of announced it and nothing came out of it.
>plus lexa doug, i had a huge crush on her
that bladerunner episode where they give her a new haircut and she's wearing leather was great. Overall the show was good except the later seasons, like you said, and 2bh I think the Nietzscheans are the best antagonist race of war-culture aliens in any scifi series ever.
