Both are equally fine. I'd say that 2 slightly devalues the idea of the Aliens being an apex-parasitic predator with the scene of them zerg-rushing automated turrets. If we hadn't had that scene we'd take the command-centre attack more seriously. When the Marines go into the nest the first time it's utter kino, the Aliens behave just like we believe they would. And then a few scenes later they're bum-rushing automated turrets. To then go back to "a swarm of them break through the ceiling and attack the marines" is jarring.

But blade runner directors cut is the worst one

Maybe, but the Alien worked perfectly in the environment it was in. I doubt its natural habitat was confined ship corridors, but it worked perfectly. There's something to be said for its design innately being pseudo-industrial and intentional, but in the world of the films we've no reason to suspect otherwise.

They're honestly both shit and boring. Alien 1 just drags on and on and on (but muh characterisation and tension building) and Aliens is just a Terminator repeat in space but with boring Sigourney Weaver in the lead.

Alien 3 was better than both of them and is unfairly hated. Hell even Alien Resurrection was better. All in all the Alien franchise is pretty poopy though.

I'm watching Aline right now, and even after what feels like 100 viewings it's still amazing. I love Aliens too, but not in the same way. Alien is so specific in its execution, I fucking adore it.
