Then she gets surgery and loses 20 pounds a month for the next 10. That's 200+80 pounds. She should theoretically be 300 pounds or lower by the end of the year.

Most diabetics in America are type 2 (the kind you get from shitty diet/being fat). If you're type 1 (the genetic kind) you learn at an early age you have to keep your diet under control.
