This thread is dedicated to remakes that are actually better than the original, they are few and far between but they do exist.
This thread is dedicated to remakes that are actually better than the original...
Pic unrelated.
Ok, post one example
Is there an issue with the files because of the april fools thing? Any case the film i'm talking about is Spike Lee's rendition of the korean classic OLD BOY, he took the chance to elevate and use the themes in a more mature manner that the silly original.
0/10 Try to be less obvious.
Real examples would be the Thing and True Grit.
The girl with the dragon tattoo
Shame about the follow up. Sony exec's are so fucking stupid.
The Fly
12 Monkeys
bat
>ooga booga unga bunga
I actually enjoyed this movie somewhat. I thought brolin gave a good performance. But this is nowhere near as good as the original. Not even close.
I would normally assume that any American film is better than Korean garbage, but then again Spike Lee directed it so I'm not sure
brolin> korea man
korean man > district 9 man
dog shit > jackson
olsen = korean woman
new ending > old ending (could have been done much better though)
hallway fight scene=useless gimmick
first 25 minutes of remake > the rest of the movie and the korean version
This is an actual good remake, taking from the original, and literally just making it more dark and edgy actually worked.
The departed. Everyone who thinks infernal is better is an obnoxious contrarian
fight me
Cape Fear
The Birdcage
>"Hello Amy, this is Rooney. Please respond!"
Who plays the incest chad in the american version?
Chappie
I see, thanks annononon
12 Monkeys is fucking garbage. What even happens in that movie? I have no fucking idea.
>hmm this movie did well financially and critically so less procrastinate on the sequel for as long as possible until nobody but rooney is interested anymore and then reboot production with a new cast and crew
I will never see the sequel based on what I've heard about it.
To be fair Fincher doesn't seem to be one to want a franchise of movies and James Bond would most likely not return without him.
Brainlet.
True Grit 2010
King Kong 2005
3:10 to Yuma 2007
The Departed 2006
The Thing 1982
The Fly 1986
Scarface 1983
nosferatu the vampyre from 1979 with klaus kinski
This song is dedicated to every kid who ever got picked last in gym class
Nah, the original is far better
Fistful of Dollars is better than Yojimbo.
>True Grit 2010
>3:10 to Yuma 2007
>3:10 to Yuma
Those aren't remakes, actually.
They are second attempts at making film adaptions and differ from the previous ones, they count as remakes. Don't be pedantic.
unironically agree and it isn't even spike's cut
Wizard of Oz (1939)
Dracula (1931)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1932)
Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (1938)
I was calling your taste shit, user. I totally agree that the more recent 3:10 to Yuma was a remake of the classic of the same name.
Nope.
Fpbp. Fuck Spike Lee. That retarded fucking nigger has never made a worth a shit movie. Goddamned Tyler Perry is a better filmmaker and he doesn't even bother trying.
Shit, that's right, True Grit wasn't a remake either.
The classic is fine but the performances don't stack up. Take off your nostalgia goggles, son. The old True Grit is just plain shit, John Wayne is half asleep through the thing and the girl is obnoxiously bad, not a very good looking movie aesthetically either. Coen kino absolutely destroys it.
What a weak and womanly way to argue.
op didn't explicitly state that it must only be a remake of a film that started only as a film so they count, a do-over is a do-over
>adapting to film something that's already been adapted to film
>not a remake
No one actually thinks like this, right?
shut up
>What a weak and womanly way to argue
You'd know, queer.
Oldboy and Inside man
You go first, OP.
Well of course I'd know, you keep displaying your embarrassing femme-brained ways to the thread.
>N-N-NOOO SHUT UP SHUT UP
>WRONG!!!
Lol. Acting like a little girl. Pathetic.
the director claims it's just 'inspired by' but it's pretty much a (superior) remake of le femme nikita
>get BTFO
>can't argue back so just panic and say shut up
cope of the century
guy is right lol you really do argue like a woman
Night of the Living Dead (Savini's 1990 version)
The Fly
The Thing
The Hills Have Eyes
Ocean's Eleven
Invasion of the Body Snatchers
>shrieks
>is hysterical
>gets dealt on and has literally no sensible comeback
>is in denial about being wrong
yep, smells like cunt in here
>Invasion of the Body Snatchers
this but the abel ferrara version
>>shrieks
When?
>>is hysterical
When?
>>gets dealt on and has literally no sensible come back
Lol? Projection much there, little guy?
>>is in denial about being wrong
And another one, you really are on a roll today. Must be those hormones. Or, y'know, time of the month.
You still never gave a counter besides "no", by the way. Kind of embarrassing. Kind of cringe. Kind of womanly. Lol.
Nah. '78 version is superior.
Prime examples of garbage movies that Spike Lee directed.
this but considering the next 2 books suck it was for the best in the end
I'm not though. I just watched Infernal first and was surprised how much was wholesale taken for the departed. I'll never not think The Departed was a lazy as fuck film.
>superior
doubt it
There have been 5 "Little Women" films, are the last 4 a remake of the first one or all of them independant adaptations of the book?
