Pretty much every character from season 3 is either dead or left the show. Only Daryl, Carol, and Judith survive.
After the prison was overrun by zombies, the gang went through several different groups until eventually landing in Alexandria. They then went into war with Negan’s gang. After beating Negan’s gang, they’re now fighting the whisperers

I have no clue how they've handled post production for previous seasons. Do you know if they've changed it for this season? Maybe they always do post production this close to airings? It does seem dumb to wait so long.
