Is this the best revival/reboot to date? It has some problems, like
>Daniel LaRusso being a cunt who never bothers to listen
>some painful acted teen drama at times (Robby and Samantha)
But overall it actually respects it's source material, and has an actual point to it's story (even if it originated from a How I Met Your Mother joke to normies).

yea
the teen drama is the worst aspect, those parts felt like Degrassi or something.
first season was great. second season injected too much poz
Agreed, I just can't believe anything that comes out of these two. Not sure if they're completely cast wrong and just can't act or it's bad direction, but there's a scene with these two I just groan.
At least pic related was fun when she actually used her size.
The prolonged Game of Thrones conversation was the nadir of the season. Still pretty good, but it dates the show brutally.
Imagine how good this could have been if it had been done by someone like hbo, amc or even showtime, as opposed to fucking youtube of all things
What the fuck? That is exactly what Daniel was like in the movies, didn't you watch them?
When is the last time HBO or AMC made anything decent?
Season two had way too much teen drama, but goddamn that fight at the end had me rolling. It was so unbelievably over-the-top and schlocky I instantly forgave all the stupid bullshit that led up to it.
Hopefully season three goes back to focusing on the two characters everyone is there for and uses the teens more sparingly.
That dude looks and sounds like an old woman in his commercials.
I rewatched them before starting the series. The series depicts him as a self-absorbed cocky bastard, thinks he knows best and everything outside his viewpoint is bad.
In the movies he's a teenage shit who learns some humility along the way. Being a moody teenager plus leaving his home forgives it a bit.
The series just resets him back to point Asshole without any redeeming factors.
which one?
>Season two had way too much teen drama
You'd be able to cut down the runtime in half if you removed all the non-plot relevant drama and bullshit conversation.
> It was so unbelievably over-the-top and schlocky I instantly forgave all the stupid bullshit that led up to it.
desu the Old Cobra Kai reunion episode gave it a second chance and proved it was worth it's shit.
I don't think anything will top it as far as episodes go.
Johnny and Daniel-San are great., but for me, it's Hawk.
I actually liked the teen drama better in S2, by that time I got used to the kids.
Overall it's great.
Yeah it has some cringe teen drama acting but otherwise it's solid and fun.
I like how you see the events of the movie from Johnny's point of view and how Daniel was actually a bit of a prick on the whole and how having the wrong role models can send you off down a bad path in life but ultimately it's on you to make things work.
Mostly I just like rooting for Johnny to make it.

>The Future is Female
kek, my sides
s2 ruined it a bit, but it's still great
This dude
s2 body bag kid ended up in a body bag. didn't the actual actor died later? great send off! russo was a jerk as a kid but i get the insecurity complex- its a good theme showing the line of feeling weak, discovering you don't have to be and being balanced enough to not go full the other way when the power is in your hands. yoda new the score mwh hu hu huh!
Robbie is good though, it’s the Mexican that’s always insufferable
>Women fighting as good as men
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Disagree, it's 50/50. Both their stories are believable but get terrible when the teen drama or romcom scenes need to happen.
Samantha is the worst because she's insufferable all the goddamn time.
Rob Garrison (Tommy) died on September 27, 2019 from organ failure, only six months after the release of the second season of Cobra Kai.
He had been admitted for over a month in a West Virginia hospital for treatment of kidney and liver issues, when his organs shut down.
The OG Cobra Kai kids were still good friends, and according to Zabka they were really glad to be able to film this last ride.
The cinematography is really amateurish. It’s astounding. It’s basically a men’s soap opera, like WWE, just a bit more coherent.
Incredibly melodramatic time the point of not being able to take it seriously, S2 totally jumped the shark with the school fights despite them having potential to be really cool. It felt like those Marvel movies where you just try to capture moments that were thinly built up beforehand. And whenever they were built up, it felt really stupid.
I like it, though. I like the overall concept, even though there is no atmosphere whatsoever and it just looks and feels like shit. You can definitely tell the audience at least.
So, in other words, the same problem as Part III.
Dark Crystal Age of Resistance is better, but Cobra Kai is second.
Basically. They refer to it when LaRusso is trying to inspire some kids as some kind of redemption arc for him.
Based, good taste user. Real passion project too.
Chernobyl you fucking casual
Reminder that Russo and his students are making Miyagi spin in his grave at 100000 rpm
>karate should only be used for defence
>but Russo constantly tries to use it to attack by provoking fights only sticking to the letter and not the spirit of the rule
>his students also use this same approach
>his daughter is a manipulative slut
>Robby is a smarmy shit and almost killed a guy
>black fat uses a weapon during his fight with white fat
>Demetri is a waste of atoms
The asian kid is the only redeemable one.
meanwhile
>Bobby tries save Johnny from himself
>Johnny tries to get bullied kids to stand up for himself while his life is going to shitters
And when LaRusso finds out his daughter's to blame for this entire goddamn new feud he just ignores it because "Cobra Kai bad"
No
>S2 totally jumped the shark with the school fights despite them having potential to be really cool
While I can agree with the rest this is bullshit. Their fights are pure kino.
>You can definitely tell the audience at least.
Really? I'm torn between "fans of the original series" and "teenagers", while the latter audience wasn't there for the OG trilogy and spinoff.
Did you? Daniel was a hero.
Season 2 sucked and a lot of the series was pozzed and Zogged.
I can't wait for season 3 and Ali to fuck everything up
The Terror
>Man gets kicked in balls once by woman
>Immediately lose fight
wow so hard to beat man in fight
>see pic of hawk
>instantly remember this motif
youtube.com
top comfy
even if season 2 was pozzed this show was surprisingly great, at the core of it the focus is on Johnny and Daniel, plus it respects its source and even Johnny being a dick makes sense in a way without Miyagi to guide him. I could see him returning back to finding balance as the show progresses. The teens are the worst part but I guess they need them for some kind of anchor to the modern youth watching it too.
Cobra Kai works because it hews close to the 80s movie logic that, like in a shonen anime, whatever is the central subject happens to be the most important thing in the world (like how a trading card game controls world affairs in Yu-Gi-Oh) but at the same time allows its characters to have natural growth without being a soulless remember-this-remember-that montage of weak fanservice.
Also, Johnny being a turbo boomer and discovering the Internet is kino.
youtu.be
Daniel's daughter is a fucking bitch who deserves terrible things to happen to her.
But yes. This is by far the best soft reboot I can think of
The series has some good fucking sound, that's for sure.
She isn't confirmed to come back, wasn't she? I saw the theory that Johnny throwing his phone into the sea, thus not seeing Ali's message is the series' way of confirming she's not coming back.
Tory is best CK girl
I just want based Terry back.
Fucker was insane.
The show was at its best when it focused on Johnny. The first few episodes of S1 of Johnny up to the point where he begins training Miguel were kino. The characterization of Johnny in those episodes felt so authentic and believable.
The rest of S1 was still good, but S2 was a noticeable dip in both quality and pacing. The dip in quality was very largely because of the focus on the teens. As for pacing, S2 felt so fucking slow and had so much unnecessary filler and drama designed to generate filler. The fight at the end of S2 felt like the producers were thinking that the show needed to end on a fight sequence the way S1 ended, and as a result felt very shoehorned and dragged out.
I heard the female childhood friend is coming back for S3 (forgot her name) but I really hope she doesn't end up being the perfect Mary Sue who brings everyone together.
Season 4
>That ass pan
They knew what they were doing. I'd certainly let her beat me up.
>dinosaurs built the pyramids
>I knew it!
Kek, I need to watch this show.
>but I really hope she doesn't end up being the perfect Mary Sue who brings everyone together.
I think Miguel ending up in the hospital is what's bringing Johnny and Daniel together. I can 100% see Ali arriving to really set it in motion though.
You're completely right about S1 and S2 being weak.
I watched Cobra Kai the same way I watch The Walking Dead. I only watch the first 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes of every episode. You miss absolutely nothing from the plot and important action but save yourself from suffering through the superficial bullshit they use to fill out the runtime.
>gets cucked by a lesbian
>gets beat up by fucking Demetri
>his best friend is hospitalised
I want off Mr. LaRusso's wild ride
Are those DSLs natural or fake
Natural, I think.
Holy shit, hadnt seen this one before.
Here she is a bit younger.
I think the setup was great, with the high school bully as the washed up protagonist. But then it just starts to devolve into the same cliches of any teen drama.
>the girls are ugly as fuck (except thicc Sammy)
>they need to get rid of that fucking spic
>more daniel vs johnny
>bring back Terry Silver
>less teenage drama bs
I liked some parts of it
>>(except thicc Sammy)
>implying Sammy's not the worst
Peyton List, master thot.
