Technicolor has given way to Technidrab. Life is colorful, people assume it wasn't always like that but look at Ancient Rome, they painted just about everything brightly, trouble is people forget because time has bleached everything.
Technically thats the sequels, The first film was retroactively green-tinted after they were released.

This is especially stupid since we now know royal armors were often painted or colored in bright blues, pink and yellow.
It is difficult to make kino costumes with real colors without looking out of a theater, and now that cinema tries to be "realist" the fade the colors to hide this.
It can be done though. The old historic masterpieces like spartacus benhur... or more recently gladiator do it flawlessy, but they were produced by competent people

Definitely no to BR2049. It only has like one purple scene.
Nah, the filmmakers know it was colorful.
It's just that nobody wants to see a mess of bright basic shirts on screen. It's just not cinematic and hard to control the viewers eye. And while back then getting such bright basic colors was legit and high-end, today it's subconsciously equated with cheap costumes and childrens clothing.
