love horror but i have reached the point where every search to try and find something new just gives me a list of movies i have seen.
so im asking you user what are your deepest cuts. i mean stuff you only find out about because a friend showed you or you took a chance on a low rated flick that for some reason scared the shit out of you.
(pic related)
i dont even care if the whole movie is good. at this point ill take a hand full of creepy or unsettling scenes in a garbage movie.
also maybe Aterrados another one is In Extremis, depending on what is spooky to you that could work, it's a sort of nightmare world
Jackson Anderson
The belgian film? was too cliche.
how many times has the concept been done
Matthew Butler
Noroi: The Curse is a sweet as Japanese found-footage flick. Not a real deep cut though, it’s on YouTube iirc
Kayden White
yeah the Belgian one, I liked it.
did you see The Green Elephant?
Aaron Evans
Pyewacket was decent
Isaac Murphy
I can recommend Russian Bide.
Shockingly good cinematography, decent to really good acting all around, and there is some decent mystery in it. Though fair warning it goes from somber mystery and threat to Evil Dead level of insanity by the finale.
Brayden Anderson
Holy shit someone else has seen that movie. That finale was downright amazing, her getting high on cocaine, jamming tools into her shotgunned off hand and going Prime Sylvester Stallone on the goons was prime fucking kino. Now THIS was a strong female horror lead! Disagree mystery was decent come the fuck on it was so obvious.
Check out The Perfection on Netflix. There's also a found footage horror movie on Amazon Prime called Butterfly Kisses. Seconding this. The first 80 minutes are like an eerie, slow burning psycho thriller, and then the last 20 minutes are an extremely bloody, high-octane slasher movie.
Juan Smith
Wolf Creek genuinely creeped me out (didn't help that I watched it alone years ago in a dark motel room). Mostly because it was relentlessly bleak and just realistic enough that you knew it could easily happen in real life.
Justin James
A Dark Song is kino
Dylan Price
I look it up and found nothing, where can I find Russain bide?
Jordan Parker
It's on Amazon Prime, if you have that. You could probably pirate it somewhere, too.
It's it spelled exactly as Russain Bide and not Bride?
Henry Reed
Ah it was a mispelling that confused me, cheers anons.
Hudson Phillips
Have you seen sauna (2008)?
If it wasn't in Finnish it would probably be on that soi horror kino list, would very much be comparable to the average a24 horror films we see recently.
do like what i intend to do and take a X year long break from it. i binged watched horror for a couple years on cytube but now i am fucking spent i guess. i guess rewatching movies make me sharpen up my quips but bah its a waste of time. take a break . i did stop watching horror movies from 95 to something like 2002 and it took me some time to catch up , just focusing on the best ones. went tru the dreck in my addict phase but that was dumb waste of time in the end... 1001 ways not to do a film ... there is only that far you can go with negative lessons like that i think.
Ryder Cook
It did happen irl
Matthew Perez
Russian Bride lmao. Also I just started this movie and Yas Forums would readily make this into a meme
Jayden Morales
Been searching for this one forever. Where do I watch it?
Nolan Diaz
Also cold prey is a really solid slasher from norway and the sequel is pretty decent and a lot more self aware and funny, 3rd film was blander than the first but was decent.
Never really see a lot of northern european horror recs besides let the right one in
Jaxon Reed
What's some good American or English horror?
Daniel Cooper
lake bodom was pretty good. streams on shudder or pirate
Tyler Martinez
kino af
don't watch any trailers, don't read any plot summaries, don't do anything like that. just watch it.
almost everything is american horror now, would be tough to list
I don't watch a lot of british horror but some recent ones I liked: kill list eden lake dog soldiers berberian sound studio severance the canal the ritual final prayer
Levi Perry
Satan's Little Helper
Brandon Mitchell
search 4plebs for “mount nabi mega” there’s a link to download it
Gavin Sanders
Leaving D.C. is basically unknown.
Juan Cooper
Possibly the scariest movie I've ever seen. I'm not even joking.
There's a zombie movie called Dead Weight that's okay. I guess it's horror.
Possum, Absentia, and Haunt are all some lesser known horror films I've seen and enjoyed.
Michael Jenkins
Altered. The 2006 one I think. It's about a group of redneck friends who were all abducted in the past and capture an alien one night. And the horror that ensues. Directed by one of the Blair Witch guys I think.
I never see this mentioned here at all. It's a very solid horror movie with some nice gore.
If Baskin slipped past your radar, I'd give it a watch. It's got incredible tone and imagery. There's a certain element of it that I didn't dig, but you might. Definitely death cult kino.
>i have reached the point where every search to try and find something new just gives me a list of movies i have seen Same here. All that's left is hidden gems. Check out the after dark horrorfest list, there are some good movies in there. The Gravedancers, Lake Mungo, The Final.
Eli Reed
The Den does the "it all takes place on a computer screen" thing like that other stupid horror movie and that great John Cho movie. This is actually done pretty well and is actually creepy at times. Plus the main chick is pretty to look at.
There's Pieces, a throwback slasher that was produced in Spain or something but with some American actors. It's worth a watch just for the tits in it and the off the wall ending.
The Colony is a low budge post apocalyptic "the world is covered in snow, also there are feral vampires out there" movie. Not bad if you like a good isolation movie and can find some enjoyment out of a movie like Screamers.
Nobody ever talks about Inside No. 9. Maybe my favorite show
Adam Wilson
I found YellowBrickRoad like 6-7 years ago and thought that it had too bad English, sound quality or weird accent so I couldn't watch it without English subtitles so I gave up.
Does it still have working English subs? Can someone make torrent with working English subs to it? Please
Similar movies that I find unbearable without subs due to british accent or bad sound quality: Hollow (2011) [Great young adult boobs tho] and that found footage Dinosaurus movie but not the horror one rather the adventure one.
Pieces was kinda shit. It looked like it was shot by college students. funny that you can watch the official trailer on youtube, with the tits and everything.
My favourite horror trope is the pictures/video show spooky stuff the people didn't see at the time. What movie is good for this?
Eli Cox
I don't really know what constitutes as a deep cut so I'm just going to throw in some kinos I love >Female Prisoner #701 Scorpion >The Pied Piper, Dir. Jiri Barta >Spotlight on a Murderer (dunno if I'd call this one a "horror" but it does have the classic Franju atmosphere) >The Skeleton of Ms. Morales >Carnival of Sinners >The Bride from Hades >A Woman After A Killer Butterfly >Luigi Cozzis The Black Cat >Awakening of The Beast >Black Cat Mansion >Little Otik >Killing Auntie Hope this helps user!
