Seriously with this shit?
He's a fuckin' robot now!?
>data is alive or something but we need to kill him for no reason
>but we can easily save picard by turning his brain into a robot brain and transferring his mind
what a load of bullshit
We prefer "toaster".
>>data is alive or something but we need to kill him for no reason
He was alive like Moriarty was freed from the Holodeck.
>what a load of bullshit
they only had one golem. it was built for soong himself. he sacrificed his golem for picard.
The more I think about this the more it pisses me off. Picard is literally dead. What in the fuck.
>golem
oh we know who's behind this shitty plot twist, huh?
>he'll probably die in a couple years anyway because he's over 90
why did they bother, now they have to be sad twice
What should have happened if they want a happy ending is Picard chooses to revive Data and Data then figures out a way to cure Picard. Then they have gay sex in front of everyone.
Picard now being an android is bonkers.
I figured/wished Picard brain "abnormality" had something to do with Q.....
That there would be a plot-twist of Picard transcending into the Q continuum when he sheds his mortal coil.
if he is a robot now how are they going to explain him not being able to do action shit?
patrick stewart is still a 90 year old man that can barely walk
Is this implication that Soong can't make another one? What would stop him? His sacrifice was "I gotta be human for a few more weeks?"
>"Don't you cry..."
Literally they state outright, in plain language, "We've given you no superpowers and you're going to die about when you would've died if you were human."
How'd we make it through the whole series without nayone actually saying "Irumodic Syndrome?"
They made the robot exactly like a 90 year old human for some reason
>Picard now being an android is bonkers.
not android though
they're biological synthetics.
IKR
Apparently it's a pain in the ass to make one golem, and they use it so an old man can keep being an old man, planning to die when old men do? They deliberately tuned the robot body to mimic an old man.
WTF?
will golem picard have sex with his corpse?
>you're going to die about when you would've died if you were human.
Except he would have died when he was human but they stopped it?
Now they have a sense of duty to let him die again later because its no longer convenient for them
Maybe they should've re-casted Tom Hardy to play the revitalized youthful and immortal Picard android?
yeah, they definitely could have used that storyline to revive picard as a new younger actor... but i guess keeping patrick stewart was more reasonable to them
the sperging would've been off the charts if they replaced him
now it's just an option for in the future
Picard becomes the American version of Doctor Who.
That basically "cured" his Irumodic Syndrome by letting it kill him, then cloning him without it.
If you ever get cured of a disease that would've killed you if left untreated, would you regard all your days after that cure was administered as illegitimate?
Life expectancy in the future is much higher if I recall correctly, it's not weird to get to 120.
If you replace him when he's alive it would spark an outrage. Now when he dies they can replace him and people will cheer they're keeping a cherished character alive.
Dr. McCoy lived to 137 years during the first episode of TNG....it's possible.
Soong made 3 Data types, he could have made infinite more.
When Picard was trying to tell Riker what his new crew was like he didn't say "they ain't starfleet thats for sure" or even mention the time he and Riker were on that Bounty Hunter relic team with the pain modules.
This show went out of its way not to mention specific stuff that should have been mentioned.
>yfw the jews running Star Trek literally turned Picard into a golem
Kek, then he starts dropping cryptic posts on StarNet about trusting the plan and how all the evil Romulans and Klingons in govt are about to be rounded up and jailed.
WWWS1 (warp speed) WWSA
this is not shopped
his callsign would be WSDRRMN
Warp speed don't rainbow read me nigga!
Nobody wants picard as a younger actor. Do you want T2 remade with an arnie replacement too?
It worked for Kirk because original series was totall campy cringe and needed an upgrade.
she's a good actress
I liked that scene, it was funny. This is like what an incel would hallucinate on a bad trip if an incel would actually leave the dungeon to try drugs right?
This. He dies or cant play anymore,
Just write an episode were his body dies than rescue his robot brain and put it in a yonger actor.
i want to fuck her real roughly, and afterwards cuddle with her.
That was dumb....and Pill annoys me.
She had that cute semi-MPDG thing going in a few roles, like Scott Pilgrim and Newsroom, then she just hit the wall.
Fuck, it's even said her "nudes" is what ended the Newsroom in the first place.
That scene pisses me off.
Even her perverting the "Picard Manuever" with that "do anything" tool in her hand. Pisses me off. Seriously, she pisses me off.
I was happy she got knifed in the throat playing a pregnant propagandist teacher in Snowpiecer....that' gets a pass.
Do trekkies really?
Why was drug use so prevalent?
That shouldn't piss you off. What should piss you off is they handed them a deus ex machina remote that can do anything. Fix your ship that is impossibly broken? Sure. Facing a fleet of 200 ships by yourself and need to magically create that many holograms of your ship? No problem.
Seriously, what the fuck.
Most shows like this use a macguffin of some type or another. Even a well written well thought out macguffin is still the same shit. You want star trek to be like Primer or something?
It wasn't really a do anything tool anyway in that context, it just projected a bunch of holograms that bought some time.
Ryker turning up with a gigantic fleet at the perfect time was way cringier.
it put together the golem from wood and hinges
not a very convenient helpmate for a genius with a vulnerable skinnnnnnnnnnn
she has a go to "wide eyed, awkward smile" thats it. The character is shit seems like they rewrote her mid episode.
>It worked for Kirk because original series was totall campy cringe and needed an upgrade.
It "worked" for Kirk and co. because the reboot movies didn't even try to appeal to Star Trek fans and instead was marketed to the lowest common denominator who had heard of the characters but had never actually watched the show. People shit on STD and Picard but the truth is that trek was killed by those movies, nuTrek is just raping its corpse. And of course surprise, surprise a few years later no one remembers or cares about those films and all the idiots who liked them moved onto whatever new flavor of the month franchise came out, they garnered no new fans of their own just leeched off of the fandom.
They always film his scenes sitting down or sleeping on a bed.
hes 80 man, normal people in this age couldnt even be in movies or tvshows anymore.
beady eyed eggman.
>You want star trek to be like Primer or something?
I want 'Star Trek' to be 'Star Trek'.
Has the bar been dragged that far down, that even asking to go back to par is such a treacherous climb you think people are demanding primo-kino all the time?
picard was star trek though
just cut the melodrama and make it episodic again, thats all i want please.
yes true but you missed the points made in every thread ever lurk moar.
>Trek was made by Jews
>Millennial Jews don't get it
How
Why
picard was the anit star trek.
Picard is a stealth adaptation of the Butlerian Jihad from Dune.
It is so far off base from what trek is that it makes DS9 seem like normal star trek.
DS9 is peak Trek
t. /trek/
This. It's like nothing fucking mattered in the entire series.
It also completely undercuts Data's nice monologue about the meaning of life lying in its finality.
How does Alex Kurtzman still get jobs?
I'm a TOS guy but I respect your opinion.
Picard isn't trek though.
The only good things about "Picard" was the "where are they now" moments with Riker, Troi, Seven, and basically the prime ST universe past the JJ-verse breakoff.
But Discovery's failings has bled on to Picard, hoping the new show would 'fix' all the bullshit Discovery caused, and toned down the virtue signalling shit. But it wasn't always that, it's just shitty writing that constantly betrays what old Trek was all about.
And horrible editing and basic storytelling too. Things happen slowly in the show, and not the slow-drip soak-it-all-in slow just a bunch of unnecessary scenes, then in some other scenes it moves too quickly....like BAM!, Soong had a son out of nowhere to continue the work....how? what? why? .....where was this extended family in all of TNG? that's some shitty 11th hour soap-opera bullshit, imo.
I mean, compare to Worf's storyline in TNG. A fleshed out storyline, well paced, making you invested in the conflict......who gives a shit about the secret Soong offspring? Or Raffi's loving connection to Picard? Or why the Latino captian is moody with PTSD?.....
To me it's the Hobbit problem all over again. Picard's first season plays out like a two-parter episodic event, stretched out over 10 episodes, missing so much potential for detail, so we can give a shit about the characters. But they failed at it, and we stopped giving a shit.
>Roddenberry was Jewish
? Though Berman and Piller were both Jewish I'll grant you that, but many of the writers weren't. I know that Moore wasn't Jewish at least.
I'm not a trek fan, but I think this lad just made an insurrection joke
