You're all so gay and pathetic.

ITT: We predict the plot for Picard S2

I predict it will involve Picard now being in a synth body and suddenly experiencing discrimination for the first time. The whole thing will be a terribly written White Priviledge analogy.

I have to say that the ending scene of STP was surprisingly well done in both execution and concept, with the exception of the "peace love friendships and butterflies are good because they don't last forever" line of reasoning. Just say he had a good life, left a legacy, and died for a good reason.
Even then, by the logic of their show there was no reason to not just build a new body for data so it still undercuts itself.
That said, the whole concept of "your in-between life and death consciousness gets to say a proper goodbye to your dead friend because his mind was a robot's and you're becoming a robot" was good science fiction, which makes it stand out in a show which was based on thoroughly butchering fantasy tropes.
It didn't save the show for me but it made me wish the whole show was as good and gave me tantalising glimpse of well written trek again

I don't get the appeal of DS9 and TNG, there is like no action

>Wesley Crusher
O god i bet will weahon would do it without hesitation.

hehehe....it's me, Enterprise J.

nope just the two of them holding hands while playing what i believe is vulcun logic game while she is drinking. The whole scene is nonsensical.

I'm usually out doing shiz, rockin my steezo but for real I gotta social distance out this joint.

Remember when the ship designs were practical?

this like a brokebn cd palyer

There's surprisingly little context to it, if you've watched the show.

If you haven't, the basic plot is thus;

>Ancient aliens have a warning that's so terrible it drives people to kill themselves. Said warning is basically "Don't create androids, they'll kill everyone"
>Romulans based an ancient order on this warning, and hatch a plan to ban and destroy all synthetic life across the galaxy.
>Basically the whole message was meant *for* synthetic life, and not organics, which is why they kill themselves.
>The message is actually an invitation for synthetic life to join an ancient synthetic civilization that destroys organic life
>Meanwhile, Data's creator's brother is creating a shit-ton of Data androids in a remote colony
>Said colony gets the message
>Entire finale is about Picard trying to convince one synthetic girl not to activate the beacon to sommon the ancient robot aliens.
>She activates it.
>Ancient aliens are tentacle monsters
>She deactivates it, because she doesn't want to hurt Picard.
>Ancient monsters politely leave.

I'm still wondering that. Kept waiting for the Romulan slaves to make a comeback. But no. They just kept on dropping more poorly realized characters until it simply ended and who knows what until next season. Because I guess it's cool to not have a season arc anymore and assume you'll get around to it. You wanna talk Picard arrogance? That's Picard arrogance. I watched 10 episodes of this. I've had more closure and satisfaction from unaired pilots.

crew: 17 bziollion

And think...that was when star trek was still trying to be star trek.

Attached: 1583539289738.gif (480x360, 2.94M)

No

That sounds fucking retarded and not like Trek at all. What the fuck

No. The entire universe is now a bunch of 2D nonsense that exists only for Sir Patrick to bounce of off with his random ideas and masochist role-play.

this is the closest thing to a gay pairing in picard so you can bet i'm gonna cling on to this shit

>Micky Burnham not in an ultra shit tier of her own
How does your mother sleep at night knowing she spawned you?

1. Enterprise J was designed as a self-sustaining planet tier ship. It had its own factories and stuff in it. It had site to site transports and even highways in it for car type things. It was suppose to hold 1,000,000 people. It had powerful weapons and shields too. It was 2000m long.
>b-b-b-b-ut that's huge!
Firstly, it's only large for FEDERATION ships and even then that is small numbers in sci-fi anyway. The designers even said it was meant to elicit such reactions. Compare it to alien race, such as the Voth, who have larger ships. Or ships in other settings (pic related)

2. They've never been practical, the exposed nacelles are large targets and are not particularly well protected (you have to extend shields further to protect them)

There is a ship design flying around, I guess from a non-canon source, which shows four nacelles close to the actual hull with the bridge in the centre of a layered hull. Now, you could argue 'a nacelle problem would be closer to the ship and blow it up' but it's harder to hit, shields don't need to exert so much to cover it and so on.

tl;dr Federation ships have been been practical and the design was suppose to get you to react like that (it was a future vision/alt dimension ship anyway).

No, there was a million people on the ship. Compare to Varro Generational Ship, Voth City Ship, Romulan Mining Barge, Planetary Assault Ship (Dominion), The Doomsday Machine, Assimilation Cube... it's also only 500m larger than the Fed Dreadnought class.

>Synths get banned for bombing Mars
>Synths get unbanned for trying to destroy all life in the galaxy
>Synths could still kill everyone at the push of a button at any time if they want
Fuck, the Romulans were right all along. The Feds are shit now.

>dress up episode

They also called it a beacon, suggesting it alerted the reapers to come into this timeline/universe, not that they were dependent on it.

A plothole from not decisively saying it was a portal not a beacon is that if the reapers wanted to make all timelines and dimensions safe for synths, why would they not just go into every universe and kill off all organic life preemptively? Aside from the obvious fact that synthetic life needs organic life to create it, otherwise it's just any old lifeform which becomes worthless to these reapers.
Not to mention the fact that they were obviously capable of inserting message beacons into other universes, to the point that the only reason organics wanted to prevent synthetics coming into existence was because quasi omnipotent synthetics inserted a message into our universe (200,000 years ago in the middle of nowhere in Romulan space?), telling them that synthetics would and should kill off organics! Were they trolling the picard universe?

Really it seems like changing reapers from pro-organic park rangers into pro-synth omniverse defence force was just done to avoid fully plagiarising mass effect, but it had the side effect of making the plot completely nonsensical.

I liked Picard
