FEET
Awful. Soulless. The original has beautiful vistas and fun performances. This one looked like a Netflix show and had the dryest performances (with an unbearable sprinkle of melodrama throughout). A disgrace, really. That hailee bitch got hot as hell tho shout out to her
How dare you
I thought a lot about why the girl is Chinese looking. It complete broke my immersion in the film. She was miscast
its great
It was alright, nothing to write home about. The most memorable part to me was how they really nailed the Protestant disposition of the girl, she reminded me of my relatives. Her actor was definitely the best part of the movie. Unfortunately on the other end, Jeff Bridges just can't live up to John Wayne.
You have a good eye, she's 1/8 goblina
1/4; she was still a top cun though
It's good.
I enjoyed it. Didn't see it until recently. My friends back in the day had this film in their library, but I never bothered to watch. I was browsing hulu, and noticed it was availible, and gave it a go. I'd give it another watch on hulu, but I'm not going to go out of my way to buy it on blue-ray.
The dialog is a pleasure to listen to.
It's a fantastic western. I'm planning to watch the original version soon
kek I did notice that in my last rewatch
same
Original is better.
hailee was so fucking hot in that
Wayne sucks dick, fuck the original
based and checked
>Wayne sucks dick
how come
i'll kill you, blanket head
I enjoyed it a lot, and Hailee Steinfeld would get it. She was cute as hell in Bumblebee as well.

more feeling, better cinematography, better delivery, beautiful background, better acting, better music.
Here maybe you might stop being gay.
I never saw the original until after this, and I couldn't believe how flat it felt in comparison.
"You're no bigger'n a corn nubbin."

Wayne could be great in the right role (e.g., Stagecoach, Fort Apache, Red River, The Searchers, True Grit)
>Hailee Steinfeld would get it
what did he mean by this
>the Protestant disposition of the girl
this is so accurate, she's so curt.
My penis, user. She'd get my penis. Maybe my lexicon is a bit too old for this place nowadays.
I think he's saying Hailee would get that he enjoyed it a lot, why he thinks this idk
nah, Glen Campbell was shit and Kim Darby was mostly alright but shit in those scenes in the climactic section of the movie
i though tit was a well thought out movie in that it had a beginning, a middle, and an end. no glaring plot holes, good actors, goo dialogue. that being said, it was pretty forgetful. i wont use the word "boring" but it was definitely hovering above it. its the kind of movie you think back upon and say "yeah i saw it. so what?
Girl seems worse in this version just going from what you have here.
>family stops letting me pick movies to watch cause they're "boring" and everyone falls asleep
This movie, Sunshine, and Rush.
what would she get about it? I think she already understands basic biology
Enjoyed Bridges performance but ultimately its just a very dated script, it works in a John Wayne context but not in the current era
>The original has... fun performances
I couldn't fucking stand the little girl in the 1969 version.
True Grit is one of Wayne's worst performances. Jeff Bridges suits the character of Rooster Cogburn way more.
malum in se or malum prohibitum?
She is the best kind of bitchy character.
>True Grit is one of Wayne's worst performances
nah
if you want to talk overrated Wayne performances, look at The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence. he comes so close to ruining that masterpiece, especially early on
reminds me of a former acquaintance of mine who said no country for old men was boring and she couldn't watch it; plebs will be plebs, user
Man, I saw this shit in theaters back when it came out and didn't appreciate it nearly as much as I do at this moment.
Goddamn.
Faster, witty dialog you have to hear at speed, like Buffy or Gilmore Girls. There's a line in that clip that explains it.
she was ugly then and shes ugly now
>she was miscast
This. Don’t get me wrong, she was decent especially for a child actor and did a fine job, in fact I’d say she had one of the better performances in the movie. But she looked so out of place, as it turns out she’s a super mutt(she’s like 3 or 4 different races) in a time and place where those more or less didn’t exist, and if they did you wouldn’t find them as the legitimate daughter of a landowner. If she was a more obvious mutt like half black it would have been silly but at least you would instantly recognize it and either turn off the movie or watch it knowing what was wrong. But because she can almost sort of pass as white she’s in this uncanny valley thing where you can’t quite put your finger on what is wrong but something is. Doesn’t ruin the movie but it would have been better without that annoyance
this is why I watched this movie so many times, their is so much fun dialogue and interactions that you can't pick up first tim
That chick is a butter face. She has a banging body but her face is mutt/10
>my goggle.
>coat's dragoon.
fucking kek
Aesthetic toes.
>all the snakes are asleep this time of year
heh
I didn't like the ending
why not?
At least compared to the first one, I think she shouldve had a happy ending instead of the whole "revenge will only bring your own downfall". Its just cliche and sad for the sake of being sad
This. The movie lacks any sort of "grand" feeling but the dialog is fucking kino. The end fucking gets me every time.
thats the book, its how the book ends
she's not suppose to be good looking, the ranger literally says
>you are sickly, and ugly to boot
I mean I don't doubt you, but I still don't like it
I love every single scene in this film
ok so the coen brothers one was based on the book not the wayne movie, which is why I suspect those who saw waynes one first don't like it
