the show is actually good, Yas Forums just reflexively hates all new trek properties and then comes to love them in time
you can't deny this
even anons are saying they like enterprise now
yeah now look at her from the side
don't be rude
Why is it good?
Also too many idiots watching RLM and taking all their opinions as gospel. And while STD is bottom of the barrel for me, STP has a lot to like.
such as?
I find a lot of RLM's "noooo! not muh perfect utopia!" complaints honestly a bit sad, and telling of two men who probably need a real belief system in their lives.
It's a barely functional TV show. I'll give it that. It is a lot better than STD, but the main plot is still contrived and full of holes, Picard still regularly behaves like a jackass, and it's still a lot more boring that it has any right to be.
I can't watch TOS myself. I only really liked a handful of Next Generation episodes. Never really got on board with Voyager even with the Doctor and after 7of9. People seem to love those two characters and I just never got on board.
Deep Space 9 was the closest thing to a Star Trek show I liked, but, honestly, I liked Babylon 5 a lot more. B5 was always my go to but I like sci-fi so give most sci-fi shows a chance.
Enterprise I hated. I still hate it. Nothing has changed. I don't understand, to this day, how anyone ever found enjoyment in that needle ridden sand paper they insisted on rubbing against their audience's faces every week.
I didn't like most of the TOS or Enterprise Star Trek movies. I think the Undiscovered Country is one of the rare examples of an old-Trek movie I actually liked. No, I didn't like the Wrath of Khan or any the other ones, and I can't think of a single Next Gen movie I'd want to rewatch.
I didn't like the new Star Trek movies. Not because "BLAAHRG NOT MUH STAR TREK" but just because I really didn't enjoy anything about them. Not the pacing, not the visuals, not the characters, not the writing. There isn't a single aspect of new Trek I can think of that was even worth a first watch, let a lone a second.
I didn't like Star Trek: Discovery. I actually like its visuals better than the movies, what I saw of it, but I didn't like its concentration (season 1 anyways, can't speak to season 2) on a single character. She wasn't interesting enough to put the entire show on and they really, really leaned in on her being THE character. She just wasn't a strong enough personality or presence to pull that off. They needed more strong characters to fill out the roster and play off of one another, and they needed better writing overall.
I like a couple of the Star Trek shorts, not most of them, but a few.
I stop watching trek at enterprise. Scot bacula is awful and so is all the series after it
