The editing saved the movie though, David Ayer wrote something so disjointed it needed.to partially emulate the trailer at the beginning.
Yes, I agree I thought he was a good joker. The character design with the tattoos were a bit over the top, he needed only half the tattoos he had, it was bordering on silly. I did like his laughing mouth tattoo on his hand, that would be something the joker would do. Heck I wish they had a drowning face on his other hand, like a Greek tragedy allusion.
Harley was his queen in which he respected her Independence, he really hated that gangster since the implication from said gangster was that Joker owned Harley, his "bitch"; as we saw in the flashbacks, she was desire, his muse per we. And she earned it through her transformation.

Just a reminder to everyone that the movie we saw was NOT the original vision intended.
after the (unwarranted) reaction to BvS, WB got way too spooked and decided to change SS and give it a more Hot Topic vibe along with cutting most of Joker's scenes.
All of the deleted scenes actually add stuff to the film and according to Leto, there was enough footage for an entire Joker movie but WB cut all of that out.
