He was pretty annoying in season 1 to be desu
>My wife and daughter don't like me
>Btw who cares what women want
>Btw I'm gonna make moves on your wife, Don

Well he lost his only account

You're thinking of Bert Cooper. Sterling pulled himself together later in the series.

>You're thinking of Bert Cooper.
Fuck you retard, Bert worked his ass off during the depression.

Couldn't stand this faggot before dropping the show. This guy pretends he has game but would have absolutely none if he wasn't rich.

Do you think he would have forced all his employees to work whilst he stayed home during the coronavirus mania?

just like my fucking bosses

And then did nothing for forty years.

I guarantee you that Roger was the only one that lived a fully satisfied life till his death after the finale.

This. In season one he was Don’s desperately lonely boss who pukes on the Nixon campaign after trying to look cool drinking and eating too many oysters

The writers are aware of it. There's quite a few instances where it crops up that women only stay around him due to his status, or Don. One moment in particular in season one is these two girls won't accompany him unless he brings Don along.

says who

user, the point of that scene was don punishing him for molesting his wife by taking him out to lunch, urging him to eat all those oysters and martinis, paying the elevator guy to say it's broken, then challenging him to a race up the stairs specifically so he would get sick in front of everyone

nah, after being insulted by Pete he went out and got them Chevy, and after Bert's passing he rose to the challenge and became a leader to the people of SCDP. Roger had become lazy and contented at some point in his life&career, but he was always a true account man
also how dare you insult the best character in the show

>became a leader to the people of SCDP
then sells it
>the best character in the show
If you honestly believe this then I feel sorry for you.

>then sells it
he contrived that to regain control and push Cutler out so that he could reinstate Don, it was ultimately done in most part for his friend

>If you honestly believe this then I feel sorry for you
how so

>slowly becomes more and more based after dropping LSD and realizing that there's more to life than having your name on a building and sleeping with young sluts
Roger is easily the most based character on the show. How there can be so many plebs in this thread that don't appreciate them is lost on me.

because there are half a dozen more interesting and complex characters that happen to be better characters, like Pete for instance.

Pete is based but so is Roger. You know who isn't? Don.

The acid episode and scene were 10/10. Having done my fair share it wasn't the unbelievable wacky bullshit like tv usually portrays it.

Yeah, Don gets boring so fast. You could cut out three entire seasons of him sleeping around and drinking and not lose any plot.

I don't know if John Hamm is a limited actor, or it's on purpose that he's Dick Whitman playing Don but isn't very good at it, but Don only seems to have one mood.

My favorite part is when his cigarette disappears in one drag

fuck both of you

Mad Men has the same syndrome as Scarface and Fight Club where most people who watch it don't get it

>dropping the show
why would you willingly expose your shit taste like this

Attached: pryor.jpg (633x356, 14.05K)

That's the whole point of his character...

True, but there are also people who over-correct in the opposite direction by throwing Don on that "list of characters that you should not respect" lists. Don is far from perfect, but given where he came from and what he was able to achieve for himself, there is still plenty to respect

Bert Cooper founded the goddamn company in 1920

He's in semi-retirement during the course of the series so that's why he doesnt do much, but he built that company from scratch

Not his ass, his balls.

It's annoying and the rest of the show sucks too. I don't get pleasure from watching assholes be snarky and have everything in life.

The chocolate bar monologue. And when he takes his kids to the whore house he grew up in.

Kino.

Why would such a ruthless industry keep someone around who was no longer useful? Why did the new merged agency keep him on?

because his name is on the door

He was probably kept on purely for the transition, and eventually replaced by the English guy that gets his foot cut off

>If you honestly believe this then I feel sorry for you.
I don't think about you at all

fuck what a missed opportunity

How pleb do you have to be to get filtered by Roger Sterling

He probably negotiated to keep himself in. Why would you agree to a merger without a guarantee you’re not going to get ousted?

>he said who cares what women want, buh buh buh buh buh based!

He owned like 20% of SCDP

I really love how he dresses and look. I like to see him on the screen. No woman and no homo.

Bitch was STACKED

Yeah and he spends the rest of the series anguishing over the fact that he cannot give the women he loves what they want
how do you not understand this

>how do you not understand this
what did you mean by this

Never thought Joan was attractive. Trudy, Betty, Megan and even Ken's wife were hotter

yeah seriously, even ken was a piece of shit starting out

We all know who the hottest chick on the show was

Attached: 5C2D941A-52E6-49DD-AA51-BB32991ADA7F.jpg (560x330, 43.39K)

that was oddly satisfying to watch.
i liked the hearing-music-when-you-open-a-bottle clip too. lsd must be fun

>lsd must be fun
also dangerous

The only part of this show I've ever seen is a clip with pic related beats some young douche. Even that part was pretty boring, can't imagine how mind-numbing the rest of the series is.

>I don't know if John Hamm is a limited actor
this is probably the most original post in this thread. i've seen people complain about his character being uninteresting but never shit on the acting

I dropped this show when I immediately predicted that pic related was gay, and a whole plot was going to revolve around him having to act straight.

Attached: file.png (800x600, 887.63K)

>Never thought Joan was attractive
you are gay.

That whole subplot ends relatively early.

Joan's personality is more attractive than her sweet body

you downloaded a pic from the show to upload to accompany the statement that you have no interest in the show? why do people do this?

i dont care. If they were that on the nose and predictable, the whole show is going to be that way

Shes the whole package, lads.

but there wasn't a plot with him trying to act straight, that's pretty much his character from the start of the show

Who said I downloaded anything? Don't you know you can paste the link to a pic in the file upload window? I just googled his name and the show's name.

What? They show that he's gay in either the 1st or 2nd scene he's in. You didn't predict anything, you watched the fucking show.

Iirc he was introduced as a normal guy in the office, who had a love interest from one of the women. You then later found out he was gay, which I knew was going to happen with the way the framed everything

What the fuck? I dont think they showed him sucking dick in the first episode but it is very clear he's closeted and trying way too hard to pretend he's straight

>which I knew was going to happen with the way the framed everything
holy shit you're like Nostradamus or something user

your point?
