Yeah it was a little drawn out, but it was at least tonally consistent with how nobody is supposed to be safe on an island full of prehistoric monsters.
Having it be the first female death in the series and having it be so brutal should be an honor given they spent the past 3 movies killing off men in different but similarly gruesome ways.
