Gilpin was the best part of this movie by a country mile. It could've been a lot better had they finessed the script here and there and taken out so much of the annoying on-the-nose politicking. "Dur it was supposed to be stupid on purpose".

ok so first of all I loved Gilpin in this and I enjoyed the movie overall but:
what's up with the ending? she's been stabbed 2 or 3 times in the chest and hit countless times, Athena has similar wounds and croaks. Crystal sees the rabbit and suddenly she can get up, eat, cauterize the wound, when she walks towards the plane she walks normally, not even tired.
was it just a massive difference in endurance and toughness between her and Athena? or was it symbolic in some way?

I felt the same way but it's not like any of the rest of the film was realistic.

honestly the only flaw in The Hunt is they will never make a sequel where Crystal kills more people.

I feel that it was due to Crystal being more “experienced”, for lack of better words. The final boss only started to “prepare” for the hunt for less than a year, while Crystal has lived an entire life of implied hardship.

It's amazing to me that through her performance you can derive subtle details like her mother possibly being abusive (via that story and the way she tells athena her mom's still alive) and doesn't even mention PTSD by name or get into any details, AND comes across as a legitimate bad motherfucker....and yet every other character is a cardboard cutout. I'm chocking this one up to "main characters who deserve so much better than the movie they exist in".
