Kim has invested way too much time in to this relationship to let it fall apart. While they were arguing, I think Saul won her over by explaining that the plan was in fact orchestrated by her, he just put it in to motion. Howard has bounced back from rock bottom after the guilt he had over Chuck's suicide. He went to a shrink and took a hard introspective look at himself.

Jimmy on the other hand did not deal with his grief, he sort of just pushed it to the side and delved deeper in to criminality and the Saul Goodman persona. Notably, Jimmy also tore up the number of the shrink that Kim recommended to him.

Jimmy is envious of how Howard was able to recover and maintain his status as a high profile lawyer while Jimmy has embraced Saul and taken the opposite path.

I think part of is that Chuck is no longer there to be the villain in Jimmy's self-narrative, so Jimmy is taking out his anger on Howard instead

Kim would be his first wife. His mother also died with just Chuck there and Jimmy late. No step dad mentioned or seen. Its likely he is just bullshitting or stealing a tale of what happened to someone else.
