Redpilled? Bluepilled as fuck. I really liked this movie, some roastie told me to watch it because she likes that Timmy Chalet poof so I went in with no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. But the ending was honestly weak. He kills the guy that stood by him and is completely whipped by the french YAAAAS QUEEN SLAAY type bitch. Cringe.

You missed the point. The guy his kills was right, and the "yass queen" is now his war bride.

Wasn't a fan of the film.
Henry V has virtually no character arc in the film. At the movie's start, he is already a great warrior. He abstains from battle due to moral objections to his father's policies. He's already virtually perfect: power, restrained, moral. The story is supposed to be about him learning to become a great King, but he already is one.
And there's no sacrifice. In the Henriad, our protagonist has to give up Falstaff. It's the price he pays for maturity. He has to abandon his childhood things.
In the film, Henry V is born great, goes on an adventure with Falstaff, and returns home great.
The dialogue is full of anachronisms. There are little ones like "regime change." There are greater ones, such as the French Princess described all Kings as illegitimate usurpers. I've heard these anachronisms are intentional. This is no way justifies them. They ruin your immersion and offer nothing in return. I suppose they cover up the film's lack of depth. They imply the film is probing or cynical, when in fact, it has essentially nothing to say.
The film is well made and shoddily written. If they wanted to adapt the Henriad, they should've adapted the Henriad. And if they wanted to write an original story, they should've written one.

How did I miss the point? He kills the old nigga who stood by him (and admittedly lied to him but gave him glory) because that roastie talked him into feeling bad about his victory. The entire glory of the battle was erased by a few sentences uttered by the stupid French roastie

I agreed the main character was bluepilled af, but the ending/moral of the story was actually redpilled.

>muh redpill
>nah dude, bluepill
you are both insufferable faggots

what was the moral of the story then according to you? war bad? monarchy bad?
pinkpilled

I tried to watch it and stopped at the beginning when he’s introduced because he had this really stupid look on his face like he just ate a sour gum ball but didn’t want to look like it was effecting him

Conflict is eternal, so it is better to be the winner.
Also beware of shady merchants.

David Michod keeps getting worse following Animal Kingdom
he's a good director but fuck me mate stop writing the scripts

youtu.be/9Ka30SRU49o
Animal Kingdom was such kino

No it’s better to be the loser because the winner just becomes complacent and ends up being emasculated by his wife or domesticity. While the loser becomes an ephemeral ghost that haunts him from outside time while being stuck in perpetual youth. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it’s predetermined beforehand

Timothee Chalamet and Dean Charles Chapman and Dean's cousin and Armie Hammer are relentlessly handsome.

This

oink oink oink redpilled
this parroted language is really annoying

It was surprisingly good, but I don’t think people are going to get the type of movie they’re expecting

I’d recommend going in with a relaxed comfy vibe

It was bullshit. It completely removed all french responsibility while putting it squarely on the English in the form of an americanized deep state conspiracy. It wasn't red or bluepilled, it was just a modernized crapshoot.

thats nice dear

thanks mom

In awe of the size of that guy absolute unit

scale of the battle was horrifically off, but the fighting itself was well done.

why was it off? medieval armies weren't very big

in that battle they certainly were, was supposed to be 6000 english and 25,000 french, and the battle didn't play out the way it did historically either, although this movie was made in the image of shakespears henry the 5th, not the historical account.

you could probably house an entire family with the fabric that went into that jacket

Basedpilled.
Die a drunk, or live as a cuck.

The problem with this film is that the actual story of Henry V is better

What was his problem?

Just watch Henry V (1989) instead, vastly superior.

>What was his problem?
He's playing a French character written by Anglos.
Unironically.

This movie was terrible and the ending was literally the opposite of redpilled

I can't take Chalamet on masculine characters seriously. He it's a twink faggot.

your gf would leave you for him

it was really average, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they have nothing else to watch, which i guess is the point of netflix.

doesn't change the facts

havent seen that webm in a while, good times

The ending wasn't redpilled, it was the complete opposite. He won a battle against all odds, he comes home as a triumphant hero. His new wife points out that he was played like a fool and then drives home some point about "men and their wars", he couldn't do shit about it to her, she dominated him verbally. They decided to end the movie by promoting pacifism and emasculating a great hero from their own history. It's bluepilled as bluepilled gets and serves as more of an insult to England than anything.

I disliked the ending while finding the movie decent. HRH Henry V invaded France because France was his by right. Treaty of Troyes shall be enforced. God Save The Queen!

Stop being this new.

>this is what anglos actually believe

how does stabbing someone in the head with a dagger "promote" pacifism?

I don't think they did enough to explain why Hal was such a skilled or lucky combatant. Hasn't he been drinking and whoring all his life? How can he beat a battle-tested warrior like Hotspur?

that was just the clean up, a negative consequence of the battle, something that would have never happened if he hadn't gone to war. it tried to depict war as unnecessary which is the viewpoint of a pacifist.

Any other kinos about english kings? I have a fascination with them...

written by an ethnic frank actually

I'm of the opinion that The Rover is pure underrated kino with two incredible lead performances. People say it doesn't live up to it's opening but I think that's more of a testament to how good the opening is rather than the rest of the film being bad.

"twink faggot" is oxymoronic

>le reddit character arc
