So this... is why people hate Wesley episodes.

And to you, mein azure fuhrer.

One of the reasons.

I bet it tastes like kiwi

Wesley is the reason people hate Wesley episodes, not cute girls. I have no hate for cute girls.

Now that's a Star Trek!

So let me get this straight, if there was a developing civilization of innocent and even peaceful people being overrun by edgy warmongers of their same species... the federal would let those lives be brutally killed off and have the planet become a space faring war race once they reached warp drive tech?
Like, I wouldn't even be suprised if just about every race the federal had a problem with, like the Klingons and Cardassians had this same altercation with their own kin from long ago, and, the bad won and now they have these war races that caused so much terror. In fact; we even see this with the Vulcons and Romulans, only, the species as a whole was too far in for one side to be destroyed so they had the chance to agree to disagree and split.

The federation believes they are the good people but this couldn't be any farther from the truth. They essentially just stall until enough blood has been spilt and even then they try to appease. It's so not realistic and not how anyone irl even acts.

You ever Starred so hard you had to Trek?

Not just that. If a societal collapse happens on a planet of humans, a colony from earth. They still won't do anything. Rape gangs can rule a planet for decades and the Federation won't lift a finger to help.

R.A.P.E. gangs, smuggled spirits, bombs implanted into people's chests, and routine murder.

and just how bloody conditioned and pampered must you be to think forced/unwanted sex is the worst thing ever?
god I hate women

You may think that the other Trek shows are better than us, and - maybe you're right, maybe you're right, I see your point - but did you know that Sun Tzu was a Chinese general, military strategist, writer and philosopher who lived in the Eastern Zhou period of ancient China? Indeed he is traditionally credited as the author of The Art of War, an influential work of military strategy that has affected both Western and East Asian philosophy and military thinking. His works focus much more on alternatives to battle, such as stratagem, delay, the use of spies and alternatives to war itself, the making and keeping of alliances, the uses of deceit and a willingness to submit, at least temporarily, to more powerful foes.

BELIEVE IT OR NOT, BUT HE IS REVERED IN THE CHINESE CULTURE AS A LEGENDARY HISTORICAL AND MILITARY FIGURE. His birth name was Sun Wu and he was known outside of his family by his courtesy name Changqing.
The name Sun Tzu by which he is best known in the Western World is ACTUALLY an honorific which means "Master Sun".

100% of Wesley hate comes from the 1st season when Roddenberry forced him into every episode as a Gary Stu/surrogate son

best captain

Just finished In The Hands of the Prophets. Season 1 of DS9 is definitely my favorite first season of any Trek show, including the original. It's just so specific but also episodic enough to be likable. Supremely comfy and perfect for any time of day.

Stanley Adams, who played Cyrano Jones. was a sentient carrot on Lost in Space.

Also the logic of it doesn't really make sense, because they are basically acting as though they are not part of the natural process of evolution for these people. Why not? Is a meteor not a natural process just because it comes from space? Why can't an alien species be a part of a species development? They think they are avoiding playing god, but in reality it's the opposite.

The worst example is in ENT, when Phlox decides it wouldn't be right to cure a disease ravaging a developing species because it wouldn't be natural. Even if you don't believe in any spiritual forces, the fact is that they ended up there and had the ability to intervene. Their appearance and aid would be no more invasive than the appearance of the virus itself.

I have to commend OP for making maybe the worst /trek/ thread in years

I would've blamed Doogie Howser (we need a smart kid as well!), but Wesley was a little twat before Doogie even first appeared on television.

I've been re-watching Enterprise, and I noticed just how few characters die. I don't think there has been a single redshirt death yet, by the 2/3 point of season 1
Is there a complete list of deaths in the show anywhere? I wanna figure out if I missed something, or if they genuinely commuted to not killing off redshirts in this show.

Attached: Daniels2.jpg (360x450, 24.92K)

Correction, Phlox decides NOT to cure a disease. What a jerk.

For me, it's Voyager season one. The pilot two-parter is the best Star Trek pilot episode. Eye of the Needle, Prime Factors, Faces and Learning Curve are all legitimately good episodes.

That's sick

There have been far worse threads than this.
Consider fat shit and duvet posting. This thread could be, and prolly will be, much worse.
P.S. VF is still a horse's ass.

>TNG
>Requires TWO Officers to disengage safety protocols

>VOY
>Requires (I assume one) Officer to disengage safety protocols

Weird.

You're talking about self destruct? Because I've just finished TNG and I'm left with the impression that safety protocols can be disengaged very easily through all sorts of means. Felt like several times a season something went horribly wrong after disengaging safety protocols, or that the ship was taken over through the simplest holodeck hacks.

No, I'm talking about Holodeck Safety Protocols.

How is Chakotay stronger than Torres who is half-Klingon.

Is it me, or do I watch DS9 just for the romance?

As I've said, it seems like every random schmuck can disengage or bridge the holodeck safety protocols.

Chakotay probably has the GOAT animal guide, while Torres killed hers.

Writers always forget that Klingons are strong. Vulcans too which is even more egregious given that they're supposed to be a hell of a lot stronger than humans.

In TNG, it specifically requires TWO officers to do it. In VOY, Bel'ana can disengage it herself.

Yeah I mentioned that before. Tuvok gets in a fight with some telepaths and gets rekt. It's annoying.

I'm not saying it doesn't require two officers, I'm saying it seems to be rather easy to trick or hack, because there have been a ton of times when someone got trapped on the holodeck with deadly weapons.

Anton Yelchin and John Cho and Q's son and Wesley Crusher are relentlessly handsome.

His is probably some kind of a lion or a tiger, and hers is a rat to match her rat face

Have you heard the rumors?

Attached: Ghidorah the Explorer.png (573x726, 1.14M)

>they are not part of the natural process of evolution for these people. Why not? Why can't an alien species be a part of a species development?
Because the Federation recognizes that all civilizations go through a general pattern of phases, both cultural and technological, before reaching the level of space colonization. While alien contact certainly can be part of a species' development, as it happened to humans via the Vulcans, the Federation chooses to abstain from contact until certain milestones are achieved in order to interact with them as equals, rather than hijacking their cultural development. This means that the eventual culture they interact with is unique and untainted by Federation influence. They'll develop their own unique technologies, law and culture. Ultimately, it creates more diversity. For example, I doubt Romulans would have developed singularity reactors if they had just been handed dilithium warp drives.

>The worst example is in ENT, when Phlox decides it wouldn't be right to cure a disease
It wasn't a disease. It was a natural trait of the species' chromosomes which caused proteins to degrade between generations. It would be like trying to "cure" the Panda of being a carnivore so that they can properly digest bamboo instead.

No, I haven't. What do the rumors say?

Godzilla and Ghidorah the Explorer will be in Picard season 2.

So many times in ENT T'pol should be really strong but ends up getting her ass kicked
