This would suck because I guarantee they would censor the Nappa fight, which would ruin the shock value and importance that fight had in the story, because that fight relies entirely on being a slaughter, showing how hopeless everything is by having all the heroes murdered without much a chance.

Because CGI is cheap enough now that people are more willing to try it. Animation is inherently expensive as a medium, but it lets you do big spectacle scenes a lot cheaper than blockbusters.

DBZ fighting is too over the top for live action, it would just look silly. Plus, no one is going to take a roided chink as goku seriously screaming kamehameha.
