But Jimmy and Howard have more in common: they both partake of that distinct brand of lawyerly shmooziness (think: who are clearly the two sharpest dressers on the show?). What I think Jimmy has utter contempt for is the fact that Howard is deluded in this regard. Jimmy embraces the sleaze and the showmanship, but Howard denies his own nature with Buddhist affectations and condescending “meritocratic” job offer. This is what drives Jimmy crazy.
