A large part of what elevated Conan above its copycats was Arnold, Milius and Basil. If you don't have that level of talent, you're going to end up with another Kung Fury.

It was in effect a latter-day crowdsourced Scary Movie, and one of the direct-to-video ones at that, fit only for consumption by the bingbingwahoo soiiboii audience that loves Funkopops and graphic tees of the Weyland-Yutani logo or Hogwarts U or some other gay shit like that.

Sorry to say but that won't work either. The "Low-Budget Flick" is itself dead. As access to movies has become easier and easier, going from home video, to DVD, to Streaming/Torrenting, the audience is no longer willing to accept crappy production values. The reason they were before was the fact that back in the day you took what you could get. But now you never have to settle for anything less than the best since streaming, or even how easy and cheap it was to make DVD's, means that "limited access" whether by supply or cash, really exists.
Even more importantly the problem is the death spiral of Capitalism. In their search for infinitely increasing profits the Big Corporations that make movies will only make bigger and bigger tent-pole movies or Zero budget dramas. The greed for ever expanding profit margins prohibits studios from making any movie that is not one of these two things. If you say "IF they make zero budget dramas why not zero budget sword and sorcery?" then remember the first point. Audiences will no longer tolerate a fantasy movie that isn't as expensive to make as a blockbuster.
