Everytime the show came on I would be scared shitless over this scene. For a while I would tell my mom to let me know when the opening credits were over (I really liked the show and didn't want the dog part to prevent me from watching the show).
On a related note, I hated the ending shot of Michael Jackson's Thriller, when he turns back to the camera and he has those cat-eyes. No problem with the werewolf transformation near the start, the undead rising up, or the zombification, just that last shot coupled with Vincent Price's laughter.

>(It Came From Beneath the Sink)
Is that the girl from Ginger Snaps

>ginger snaps maymay
much like covid-19, i cannot wait for it to run its course and be gone.

when i was little it would freak me out too, its mostly the camera angle and the type of dog, being so long looking.

*blocks your path*
also has our boy hayden

My favorite book was The Shocker on Shock Street, purely based on the cover. The praying mantis looked badass.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? was far more kino
youtube.com/watch?v=5kW0kTLBfG0

It actually is Katherine Isabelle in one of her earliest roles though.

You and I went through the exact same shit. Even the Thriller part.

Why is there randomly a 1970s anime protagonist on the third row?

I fucking love cats too, but seeing cat-eyes on a non-cat gives me the creeps somehow.

Attached: tom.png (327x254, 105.6K)

For me it's Lucy

It's because it's unnatural so it makes it unnerving. Like you're being tricked into accepting something you shouldn't be accepting. It's like when you see a man pretending to be a woman.

lmao I literally closed my eyes on the dog part, it freaked the FUCK out of me

Jodie

>Play with dog when I was a kid
>Have to go to bed because I have school
>I wish I were a dog so I didn't have to go to school, I could just be comfy all day
>Watch My Hairiest Adventure
>No longer wish I were a dog

Now you're getting it. Those trips confirm it.

Which episode did you feel was a letdown after reading the book, or butchered said book? They can't all be winners.

Was jack Black supposed to be a Gay R E Stien, he created a teen age girl and did not have sex with her

I choose Kareen

Andy from Monster Blood. I want to hug her, bros

youtube.com/watch?v=jxZjzBUBdmc

I can't remember too well but the Attack of the jack o lanterns adaptation obviously wasn't going to include the fake burglars at the sleep over for various reasons.

I seem to recall the Night in Terror Tower one not having the budget to capture the medieval setting of the book so it felt pretty weak

>fake burglars at the sleep over for various reason
What are these various reasons?

Attached: 53456437.jpg (241x228, 9.95K)

Episodes are usually too short to include more than two thirds of a book, even though they're short books. Even the accurate episodes cut out a lot of scenes.

>mom buys me the ghost next door cause she thinks i'll enjoy it
>it's like 30 minutes long and ends on a cliffhanger

Never watched another Goosebumps or read any of the books. Fuck them.

My bad family I thought you meant something happened in the books was that not appropriate for TV.

They use that same cheesy special effect in Angel Heart. It ruins an otherwise great ending.

This is biologically imprinted in us. If you have any belief in, or even interest in the paranormal, be that through historical legends, or modern reports of cryptids, aliens, fae, ghosts or demons, animal eyes in a human face, or glowing eyes are very, very common. Seriously, go look up reports, and you'll see it come up again, and again, and again. Red, green and yellow, being the most common colours, in that order.

Eyes are the window to the soul, is the old saying, right? Something with unnatural eyes is letting you know it doesn't have a soul like yours.

How come they don't make horror stuff for kids anymore? Goosebumps and AYAOTD were kino. Are zoomers just too sheltered?

they do

What like though?

>tfw it's not October yet
Nothing but nostalgia and good feels. Only 7 more months to go.

>tfw Goosebumps the show wasn't scary

Attached: HankHill.gif (350x340, 221.45K)

I'm inclined to agree, but I also really loved A Night in Terror Tower as a kid.

What was your preferred book?

There's this Netflix children's horror anthology called Creeped Out.
youtube.com/watch?v=giTNDpvp_Bg
From what little I watched, it's not very good and relatively tame in the spook factor in comparison to Goosebumps and AYAOTD. There is the 2010 Haunting Hour series and one ep I watched from it was surprisingly scary. I heard some good things about the other episodes and it's pretty long (76 episodes) so check it out if you can.

Coraline is relatively recent and still terrifies me as a 30 yo manbaby

Based I'll check that out. I'll just watch the first season or something and see how it is.
What I really miss, although it's not really aimed at kids, is Beyond Belief. Now that was top quality.

I always meant to see that and never got around to it. Thanks for reminding me.

The books weren't either. I was more scared of the covers than the content.

fucking thriller. one of my earliest memories is running down the hallway so i didnt have to watch the end of that video

>relatively recent
But it's from 2009.

>Sue
>Lucy
>Karen
>Shari
Jodie
>Jessica
>Nadine
>Gretchen
>Amy
>Fergie

Strong taste

I'm pretty sure he also played Dr. Vink (with a vuh-vuh-vuh) on AYAOTD.

Libby and Lily. Also pic related.

for me, it's Jodie

Bruh I was scared of the dog too, now I watch it and wonder why the fuck that scared me

WOOF WOOF WOOF WOOFWOOF

For me its Nadine

Monster Blood, iirc
