I love when you talk about this movie with women, because they all say he deserved it, like being forced into a sexual act after being a mediocre boyfriend is justification for burning someone alive. That's what makes the ending so kino, it's what the discussion after the end of the film reveals about how disconnected women are from death and what actually justifies killing somebody.
