What went right?
What went right?
Nothing.
Everything
Something.
Benis
Made by straight white males who love the characters and the genre. Now we get abominations like Safespace and Snowflake.
This was the only western show that was so good it almost felt like watching animu
Right place, right time, right mindset, right people. Though their redesigns in the fourth season sucked. No idea why they went that route.
Drawn on black paper to make everything darker.
Dark tone for a kids show.
Real guns.
Mobster characters, not always using super villains to sell toys.
Excellent voice acting.
hamill
Good VA
There's nothing "right" about a good show lasting only two seasons, user.
2 seasons but like 80 episodes.
Also Batman The New Adventures, IIRC thats a total of 109 episodes.
The creators loved the source material while also having a vision for the show that was original while also respecting what was established before. The creators were competent and understood what was good about Batman and didn't try to change it. Their vision was built around making it timeless.
>This perfect storm will never EVER come together for Spider-Man
is there anywhere to watch these?
It was animated by a Japanese animation studio funnily enough. I think the 90's X-Men show was as well.
underpants over pants. KINO
Got cancelled too soon, which might count against it, but The Spectacular Spiderman by Greg Weisman was pretty damn good.
How the fuck did they make 40 episode hand drawn cartoon seasons back then? How? Now we are lucky if our cartoons get 12 episodes a season
but Superman TAS was better
Why do American superheroes wear their underwear outside their pants?
great writing, great art, great voice acting and etc
Batman and Superman. Who else?
People have been shilling this show to me for years, so i finally check out a few clips, and its just "okay".
I dont think its very funny. I dont think the plots are that deep or complex. Its just, an okay action series for kids
I prefer reading the comics honestly, because i think reading the jokers words in my head is actually more enjoyable that hearing it
>Why do American superheroes wear their underwear outside their pants?
Those shapes were part of the common sketching process for human figures, so it's easier to design the character's outfit to include the same lines.
the tighter the clothes are on your body, the less wind resistance. if the underwear was on the outside, the pants would sag at the groin area; causing resistance
>but Superman TAS was better
You misspelled "almost as good."
alot of it is nostalgia factor
i didn't grow up with comics i grew up with dcau
so stuff like justice league is better to me then the comics
*AHEM*
Comfy animation
Great voice acting
Pre SJW faggot era
They are derivative of Superman who was designed to resemble circus strongmen.
it's kino alright. i sleep my nights bit better when i take dose of batman before bedtime.
Batman get ipad
Qt waifus
no jews
>He doesn't know Batman's mom is Jewish
oh no no no no no no
There are some incredibly weak and weird episodes shuffled into Batman TAS, like Catwoman being turned into a literal cat woman, an android clone of Batman, the martial arts student looking for the "killer pressure point", and a few others.
His mom's brother married a Jew.
those episodes are SOUL
it's fun when you go from Batman to Superman to Justice League to Justice League Unlimited to see how it all progresses. B:TAS is great except for On Leather Wings, the first episode, which might turn you off from it
To be honest, most of the mobster episodes sucked. It helps that nearly all of the Batman villains are really just crazy costumed mobsters to begin with.
That stuff is crazy to me too. Season 2 of Gargoyles is like 56 episodes.
Only self-contained episodes. No arcs. No overarching plots.
The change to the cheaper, more simplistic art style sucks though.
Penguin is a Jew.
DC Universe
Narrator: it wasn't
What was the worst episode and why was it The Underdwellers?
It's one of those Rupert Thorne episodes that I can't remember for the life of me, and neither can anyone else.
greatest casting director ever
That one was bad but the episode where Bruce goes undercover and ends up in deep south(?) work camp with amnesia.
almost literally everything including mask of the phantasm with the sole exception being batmans in my basement
Best episodes:
Mad Love
Perchance to Dream
Heart of Ice
Almost Got Him
Over the Edge
>The change to the cheaper, more simplistic art style sucks though.
agreed, but based Dwayne McDuffie's Unlimited work is great
Here's the thing, I watched it in dub as a kid and I find the original inferior, if anything.
Yup, I had a hard time picking one or the other as the absolute worst. I DESPISED those episodes as a kid because it seemed like every time I tuned in to watch some Batkino they were playing either The Underdwellers or The Forgotten. GODDAMN I hate those episodes.
you're wrong, zoomer. also hamill is the best joker
>batmans in my basement
I will never understand the hate for that episode when dogshit like The Underdwellers and The Forgotten exist.
One thing that has always bugged me about the show is how boxy and wide they made Bruce. He looks like a fat bastard in a suit.
The length of its run is the killer there. Real shame.
>It's a "I watched an out of context clip instead of watching the actual work: Here's my horribly informed awful take on it, it's valid, I swear!" episode on Yas Forums
I fucking hate reruns
