anything after they became sjw's

The episode where they all get aids, but they get cured with money

You're getting old. It should have been the series finale

imagination land

PC principal.

when garrison became trump

Season 1 episode 1

Imagination Land

it's still going strong

in 10 years you will look back to it

This episode has yet to air.
The Simpson, on the other hand...

Which was the first 3-part episode? Whenever that was, that's when.

would had been kino

the 2016 election arc. It was just entirely bad

Make Love Not Warcraft

It’s still a great episode by all means but it definitely felt like a half hour long advertisement and marks a shift in tone for the series (second mention goes to Chef’s death episode also in Season 10).

After the chef leave

why did they do it bros?

Season 11 was where it started to get bad, especially with the second half which they put all their ideas into the Imagination Land episodes which honestly weren't great. Where I completely lost interest in the show was the post 08 election episode. It was just really shitty and underwhelming and I just gave up on it.

Whenever they started using dramatic music cues several times in every episode, as if to beat you over the head with "THIS IS THE CONFLICT, LAUGH NOW!"

Stanley's Cup should have been the finale

this, I'm pretty sure

This plus beating some unfunny joke throughout the entire episode to death.

The last episode I watched live was the iPad/Human Centipede crossover. It was just way too forced.

it's hard to pinpoint but i would say it was around time they killed off chef.

like the simpsons, there is just a general shift away from the themes that were initially charming and then characters gradually became caricatures of themselves. it became less about storylines that exist in the realms of the show's setting but more so about references to pop culture, vehicles for the writers beliefs and generally absurd stories that happen to feature the kids as the characters. it's like you can recognise the shapes of the characters in the show but they aren't the same

i would kill to have another season of south park that felt like season 3/4 or again

The show changed after they introduced Timmy the retard. That was back around season 4 or so. It was still watchable after that, for a while, but it wasn't the same.

it was solid until they started stretching single episodes across entire seasons.

Around Season 12/13. When they started going full blown political and referencing something that happened in the world that week. Every now and again they come through with a good episode or two.

Seasons 3 - 8 was kino. The next 10 seasons was a mixed bag. Everything after 17 has been a trainwreck.

this

Pretty much this, I hate how so many episodes now involve saving the country or planet or some shit instead of just being a goofy self contained thing with the kids.
I do remember the current season having a decent episode or two though after they finally got rid of that Tegridy Weed shit for a little while that had more like a pre-Season 11 vibe (I think it might have been the Randy Savage one). Sadly they went right back into the Tegridy Weed shit at the end and they’re having it continue into next season, I think I’m just going to finally drop it.

parker unironically said he wanted to erase everything before s4, what the fuck is wrong with that retard

Probably the Coon storyline? That was really weak and the format began to change into season long plot lines that were hit or miss. But I'll take new SP over any of this pozzed shit out otherwise.

He just seems to hate everything old he did. On the commentary for the movie, which was recorded ten years later, he keeps saying how embarrassed he is by it since the show improved so much. But at one point I think Matt Stone says something like
>yeah it looks crappy that's why it's sweet this is in a major studio movie

This.

the tegridy shit was an abomination and,in general they have vastly overestimated randy's charm. he's a lowest common denominator type character best used in small doses. having him anchor the better part of a season gave it an overall really lowbrow feel even they're doing it 'post ironically'

Season 13 was the last good one after that they gave up on the jokes and just made toilet humor for shock value alone

They used to say how they avoided making Randy a typical dumb dad like Homer or Peter Griffin in the older seasons only to do exactly that later on

the one were they made fun of my thing, step too far

>south park still good

No idea, but i recently watched the spoofed focused episode on Pip and im surprised how faithful South Park did to it.

pip episode is peak pleb filter

Yeah I watched the movie with the commentary recently and was pretty disappointed. They kind of shat on it when in all honesty it's probably the best thing they've done.

do you remember what exactly their criticisms were? Imagine being them and shitting on the movie while producing these unwatchable later seasons, based retards

this, the medley is unironically the most kino thing they've ever done and it's a shame they didn't win the best original soundtrack for it

when the kids stopped acting like kids and Randy became main character

I’m still binge watching all seasons, but S5 began the slow fall of quality of the show. Around S7 they just began shoving every celebrity, movie, or topic Trey Parker hated. Yes, we get it Trey Parker, you hate Ben Affleck, George Lucas, and almost everyone else

Maybe Season 20. S19's formula of having a season-long story arc was a neat deviation from the formula, but should never have become the standard.

2008 Election episode is when it officially became nu South Park. South Park should have ended with the bush administration. Every episode that made South Park what it is (Fun with Weapons, Make love not Warcraft, Go God Go, Casa Bonita, Little Crime Stoppers, Tree Fiddy, Man Bear Pig) all of these came out before Obama was president

did i say that?

Whenever they made a joke about Trump. That was the definite moment the show died.

>reeeee dont talk shit about my r/donald

They just shit on it, you can find it on youtube. Trey says he understands George Lucas and Spielberg changing their old movies because he wishes he could when watching it

about when Randy became the village idiot

he's right, it doesn't have enough pc principal

weirdly i thought 17 was really strong though. better than 15 and 16 for sure

Creators never know what made their show good in the first place. They just never do.
James Rolfe never realized what made avgn good was that it first felt like a genuine pathetic guy living in a small apartment shitting on games for fun. No, it has to be an overproduced game show with collector fag background.

lol it's not really the comedy, it's more the crappy animation that seems to trigger them. Which is insane since that's the show's whole thing

Season 1 Episode 2

Obama wins, season 16 I believe. After they started linking episodes together ruined the whole mythology of south park

Thats funny considering how asspained they were when Phil Collins won the emmy. I guess they got over it.

They still like the music, since they did that with Marc Shaiman

S12E10 - The pandemic.
Most of the material before this episode is still quite good, but this episode marks a noticeable shift in story writing and none of the episodes after this ever return to the wit and morals of the previous episodes. It's like Matt & Trey decided to step away from the show.

Source: have seen every episode atleast 100 times.

When Randy became the main character. If you like Randy, you should kill yourself.

crappy animation was literally half the show's soul, i hate them so much

It's even more insane when they made the episode shitting on Spielberg and Lucas for fucking with their old films. Hell they even had a part in that same episode where Matt and Trey parody it with the whole remaster of the first episode.
Harvey Dent was right.

>Seasons 3 - 8 was kino. The next 10 seasons was a mixed bag. Everything after 17 has been a trainwreck.
Are you talking about South Park or The Simpsons?

2012 election episode. It was at that point when everyone became aware of how the show was produced and they got too up their own asses.

not verbatim

Tegridy farms. Randy is the Joey of South Park now.

Sorry. I meant the 2008 election. I just couldn't wrap my head around the show ranging from mediocre to bad for that long.

they realized that randy is popular and focussed way too much on him
