Just watched Stargate SG1 episode 1 yesterday and it was kino. How many episodes of it should I watch? Does the series have a conclusion? Which episodes should I skip? Any order to watch?

you can't skip anything it all matters just power through and play games on an emulator split screen or on another monitor or some shit
GOOLD?
You should watch them all, except maybe for a couple of season 1 episodes that were bad and retconned. The show is episodic, but has very strong continuity, you'll see old stuff return all the time. Essential season 1 episodes are first 3, last 3, Thor's Hammer, Torment of Tantalus, Enigma, Bloodlines and Singularity. From season 2 onwards everything is good enough.
It eventually concluded in 2 DVD movies, but it also concluded its initial story in season 8. 9 and 10 are almost like a spin-off.
You should watch them in order. You should start watching Atlantis concurrently with Season 8, if you are into this sorts of things.
posting for hot tok'ra tits
Just a warning, the 4th episode is the worst episode in all 10 seasons.
It's shit
based gooldposter
oh yeah, atlantis kind of sucks but still has parts that make it worth watching
doctor balding asshole is good character, and jason momoa before he was anybody, when it seemed like he would never be anything more than an ensemble player in a shitty spinoff scifi tv show
Is infinity bad? Alien designs look cool, how many aliens appear in stargate?
I think it's bad. And it also spun off early season where lore wasn't established yet, so everything is different.
I don't think anything from Infinity ever appeared in main show.
stop when you're sick of it. Pick up again in a month or so.
Personally I got burned out when Dr.Jacksom "died". I then skipped right ahead until Farscape actors started a new arc (which was pretty fun to be honest, I wish they would've gotten more seasons).
>dismantles your puny Tau'ri arguments
infinity doesn't exist
universe sucks then kind of gets around to figuring itself out by the second half of season 2 but it was too late, probably not worth saving anyway
Is he /OURGUY/?
Indeed
DUDE WEED LMAO
Prodigy is worse.
>just power through and play games on an emulator split screen or on another monitor
the patrician tv watching experience.
it gets its groove at season 3.
there are weak plots and episodes season 1 and 2, but there are great episodes too, like Daniel bodyswaping with an old scientist, I think its middle season 1.
9 and 10 are watchable but it feels very different, but still much better than atlantis 4 and 5, but atlantis is good from season 1 and then gets progressively worse.
universe is "we want battlestar galactia audience", but there are some good moments, then it gets kinda good and gets canceled.
>Does the series have a conclusion?
Last episodes of season 7 gives you massive payoffs.
ps. Everything said above is an absolute truth and should not be contended
considering the sjw shit that is being shitened out now, it is fucking gold.
mongol sg1 episode >>>>>>>>>> captain wonder marvel woman
How do you guys feel that MGM wants to reboot Stargate as a movie trilogy?
they won't
watch all of it
It's the reason Stargate has been in limbo for years. People have been wanting to continue the main line gate series for ages, but the MGM jews keep holding out for an Emmerich sequel that never happens. Although given what has happened to Wars and Trek we probably dodged a bullet.
>Does the series have a conclusion?
Season 8 finale Moebius (part 1 and 2) is a really good end to the show. Its a really good episode even though the show is well past its prime at that point and it has a comfy ending.
Season 8 itself is meh though and it brings back a villain who should have died at the end of Season 7. The season 7 finale is real action packed and in some ways a better end to the series but it ends with one of the main characters in limbo so you really need to at least watch Moebius to give the show a good ending.
Season 9 and 10 are basically a different show and they're meh. I don't hate them but they don't really add anything aside from episode 200 which is a laugh riot.
I've got my eye on you Quark.
They stated that Emmerich isn't back, he said they want to reboot the whole thing as a movie trilogy without him.
They missed the opportunity with Independence Day. There have been 17 seasons and 2 movies of SG-1 etc. since then, it is absurd to do a semi reboot now.
Just like TNG the first season or two is rough, with wide swings in quality of the episodes. But afterward it becomes great, one of the very few long running series with an amazing continuity and sense of progression. Almost every one-off episode gets a follow up or mention later on in the series and slowly over time SGC gets more and more powerful using tech recovered in earlier episodes until they are extremely overpowered. Imagine XCOM as a tv show.
Its best to watch the show in its entirety.
they'll probably do it again because of the rights bullshit.
anyway SG appeal was comfy sci-fi/philosophy/humanity fuck yea. And in a way it was done it can not be trasnffered to film media.
Controversial opinion, I think Stargate needs a reboot.
I love SG-1 but it really did everything it could with the franchise. By the end of it humanity has ships that can cross the galaxy in days and the Stargates themeselves are redundant and the show is turning into Star Trek. I think it was a logical place for the show to go basically showing humanity turning into a spacefaring civilization; but in the process it lost the charm of the original premise with humanity as scrappy underdogs with inferior technology trying to fight God like aliens.
The best way to reboot SG-1 is to set it in an alternate universe (which are canon in SG-1) one in which the Stargate program didn't get funded in the 90s and is just now getting off the ground and the characters from SG-1 went on with their lives. Carter is a Nobel prize winner, Teal'c is still first prime of Apophyis, O'Neil is top brass (or maybe just retired) and Daniel is selling books at Scifi conventions. Then you introduce a new team to go through the gate and you can use the old team as cameos maybe even do a crossover episode in the original series universe. And this time no fucking "ascended beings", I hated that bullshit.
Although frankly with the state of modern Hollywood I don't trust them to do a decent job of it.
That's an interesting idea, but it feels pointless. I'd just go into a new galaxy. And actually make it matter this time.
If I was making a continuation to Stargate, I'd make it like Atlantis, but with supply of Universe or even worse.
>but it really did everything it could with the franchise
there is always the story of stargates becoming public information
Weird science
>which episodes should I skip
Watch_All_Of_The_Episodes_/trek/.jpg
Fuck off retard. Watch it all or not at all.
>Controversial opinion, I think Stargate needs a reboot.
It already did and it sucked and people forgot it got a reboot.
>it feels pointless
It is pointless, its just an excuse to make more episodes with humanity as the underdog, the Stargates as the only means we had of traveling off world and the Gao'ld as all powerful villains. That's when the show was at its best.
>you'll never write a book or make an OC sci-fi show that people discuss on Yas Forums whilst other people want to make spin-offs or prequels or sequels to and you can read everybody talking about your lore and fluff whilst pretending you're a random person talking about it with an air of authority, hidden, but confident in your posts only for somebody to call you a fag and copy and paste a wiki article instead
Feels bad man.
He is not like us.
Should have tried to dial them back a month later to see if the Space Soviets had dug up the gate from the Space Fuhrer Bunker.
This is one of the episodes that makes me want a spin-off on hard mode. Like, in here they went to Nazi planet, decided "Fuck it" and left. What if they couldn't just leave? What if they went to a Nazi planet, and had to actually deal with the possibility that Nazis could find their home world and kick their ass, or just needed their support bad enough. Maybe not Nazis outright, but ambigiously enough, like they never found out who was the bad guy in their ongoing war and had to decide if they want to blindly deal with country that controls Stargate or fuck off.
>DUDE WE SPENT 30 MINUTES ON THIS PLANET AND KNOW ONE SIDE IS PURE EVIL FASCIST NAZIS SO WE JUST ABANDON OUR SHOW'S THEMATIC GOAL OF LOOKING FOR ADVANCES TECHNOLOGY TO SAVE OUR OWN PLANET SO WE CAN HAVE THE MORAL HIGH GROUND EPISODE LMAO
The dumbest part is that at the very end Odo turned out to be a total coward and was outright going "I'll give you any technology you want just save me personally and take me with you" and they still say no? I mean fuck, you could have always just double-crossed him after he gave you the fusion reactor tech.
I mean the smart move would have been to call for reinforcements from Earth and then just started blasting.
But the writers wanted it to be a moral choice.
Season 1 episode 3 now, should I watch 4 next or skip?
It's trash, I would either skip or just put it on in the background and do something else.
Do you count Children of Gods as 1 or 2 episodes?
Watch everything or watch nothing.
How the fuck is it even a question?
Jonas Quinn >>> Daniel Jackson
>How many episodes of it should I watch?
ALL OF THEM
mah nigga
I'm glad I'm not the only one. It almost put me off the show.
as 1 episode, 3 is the worst one then? With the shavadai
Honestly, what's so egregious about it besides the on the nose muh stronk women. It's just another Canadian woods episode like so many other.
>SG-1 thinks they dislike Teal'c because he's an alien
>it's actually just because he's black
kek
The fact that it's a low effort Canadian woods episode at the beginning of the show. I thought it was going to be like this forever.
>that stupid gaudy indian bauble filled headdress that's somehow supposed to improve a woman's looks
almost ruins the appeal of the cleavage
Wait what
the series finale is a great episode
Always thought myself that it could move more towards internecine conflict with other human powers and the Jaffa.
The Tau'ri with both Asgard and Ancient tech at their disposal, and everybody wants a piece of their inheritance.
Also Goa'uld insurgents.
