yeah no one gives a shit anymore. HBO killed it. lol.

So he wasn’t working on it before? What a lazy faggot, why do ASOIAF fanboys still give this clown excuses?

the important thing is he will outline the tax policies that D&D didn't

Attached: image.jpg (446x446, 40.16K)

Don't believe the fat fuck, he's "working" on his fantasy football shit.

shmorky is not a meme

His next excuse is he can't do any work because his word processor might be infected with coronavirus.

>corona gives us wind of winter

Wildest twist yet

He will totally blame his asian cleaner lady

I don't see why anyone cares anymore. Whatever he writes can't be good enough to cover for the amount of time he's been writing it.

this isn't tv related

He's got a major uphill battle because Even I honestly don't know if I'm going to bother to read Winds and I'm someone who read Game of Thrones in middle school back in 1996 when I was 10. I clearly remember walking down the street to the book shop with my parents after watching Space Jam and seeing the book on the rack and picking it up and starting to reading it on the way home. For some reason this is a formative childhood memory of mine, that series was for me what Lord of the Rings was to my dad, but I don't even care to see how he ends it at this point.

>He will die before finishing it, right?
Obviously. Just look at him. And remember the fact that he's working on the same book as when the show STARTED.

thread done

Pretty sure he was working on Dance when the show started. He didn't work out the Mryish Knot until the second season was in production.

Bran and Gendry and Rickon and Joffrey and Tommen and Jojen and Dickon and Lancel and Loras and Robin are relentlessly handsome.

What are the chances that fat fuck simply forgot what he wanted to write? I'm a young man with a decent memory and I barely remember shit from ADWD, its been almost a decade, and Martin is 71. I highly doubt that he rereads his own shit too often

If he was competant he'd have notebooks about characters and the plot to keep it all consistent

The showrunners demanded he finish the books while at the same time they were fucking his story up. They were shutting him out of the creative process but didn't care because the were convinced they were the reason for the shows success. He held off on the books to fuck them over.

Why do people get so up tight about when the books come out? Just live your fucking lives and I dunno?...read other novels?

He will finish Winds, it will be good and will rekindle the fans' love for the franchise.
About 4 years later he will release a sequel to Fire and Blood, and then he will die before finishing A Dream of Spring.
His editors and those guys in charge of the genealogy and continuity will finish it for him, claiming it was almost done and that they only contributed with minor details here and there. The ending won't be a trainwreck but it will be very underwhelming. Critics will try to find ways to praise it, but it won't stick. Furthermore, the difference in writing style, lexicon, wordcount, themes, etc. will be obvious to the diehard fans, and they will eventually figure out that the whole thing is closer to fanfiction than a genuine GRRM product. After that, the franchise falls into obscurity and never recovers.

He has Ty Franck.

The only thing that killed this series is taking 10+ years on one book which is symptomatic of GRRM not being able to write an ending as tWoW will have to shape up the endgame for the final book and he can't decide how it should unfold. Endings are hard to do and more times than not are unsatisfying unless you can be happy with a "and they lived happily ever after" which obviously GRRM would let himself die before writting anythng like that.

He might complete Winds, but he'll never finish Dream. Writing Winds will have taken him at least 10 years, and a lot of it was material that was already written for Dance. Another 10 years for Dream and he'll be in his 80's, and living much beyond 80 is optimistic for a man his size. Even if he remains healty he'll slow down even more with age.

This

Also, the fanbase remains extremely skeptical that he'll manage to finish the series with just two more books.
I'm of the same opinion. The last two books were just chock full of new characters, worldbuilding, they felt like the beginning of a second act.

of course he's going to die before finishing ASOIAF. he might even die before finishing TWOW with coronavirus going around and him being a 75 year old morbidly obese man.

he was already starting to slow down and make excuses before the show came out, but he really took it to a whole different level when he became rich as fuck and famous. dude has taken 10 years to write 1000 pages when he had 300 pages already written cut from the end of the last book. if he only wrote a page a day he would have been done 8 years ago.

This. Depressing as fuck that the show is the only ending fans will ever see. Serves the fat fuck right for signing on with two guys who had no writing credentials and only let them make the show because they correctly guessed who Jon Snow's mother is, when anybody with access to Google search could've told him that.

Fire and Blood 2 is literally last on his ASOIAF to do list.

Basically what happened after Last Jedi too...

I was a relatively casual lifelong fan of the movies and a few games they made (late gen x) never saw OT in theaters. I didn't buy merch but I always watched ther movies and drug some of the lore...

>See Last Jedi
>Walk out kinoplex wondering wtf I just saw
>Try watching it again about a year later
>Make it until I remember the slow speed space chase and lobbed cannon fire
>I guess I'm done.

Watched Mando on a friend's account. 6.5/10
Might pirate next season but no one gets my boomer buxx anymore

Wasnt it supposed to be "basically done" by now and he were to appear at a con with the book?

You can have Gurm use his self-quarantine to write any ASoIaF material you want, nuncle, as long as it's a compendium of irrelevant trivia like Fire and Blood

At this point fans have pretty much written the whole of Winds of Winter in their heads with Rickon and Davos riding in on a giant goat to defeat Aegon VI

Right now it is, but after Winds he'll have to write the most challenging book of his life, and he'll try to relieve the pressure of time and fan expectations by releasing a safer story with less stakes. He'll use it to buy time and delay the inevitable, like he did with F&B part one.

when the show started production? yeah he was still working on dance. when the show started airing the book was already finished and it came out a couple months after the first season finished.

Bascally done could mean just the manuscript which is then read over by his editor and anyone he likes to consult. It could be another year of editing before a finished product is ready. Altough I'd like to imagine his edito just saying fuck it and releases a book full of typos and grammar mistakes

he said last year if the book wasn't in his hand by worldcon they could lock him up in a room in new zealand until he finished it. i think worldcon was supposed to be in like 2-3 months, at least before coronavirus happened.

considering he's still writing and it takes at least 3-4 months to edit and print a book of that size there's no fucking way he would have had the book ready by that point.

>every preview chapter released was cut from ADwD
>editor confirmed she only has ~200 pages confirmed
>he took 10 years to write whatever the fuck he wrote so far
>he needs a quarantine to "really" star working

I don't believe this fat fuck.

>Endings are hard to do
Not entirely true, depends entirely on the writing process. A good ending should snap into place and make every piece before work as a whole, it should be the final gear that makes the whole thing tick. If you were just randomly making parts without planning out what you wanted to make of course it's nearly impossible to craft a working ending. But if you knew from the beginning you were making a watch and planned every part to make a watch that ending will write itself and that ending will work.

If you're the type of writer who just makes it up as he goes along and hopes by the end it'll be a watch then it's nearly impossible for thing to work out in the end.

It's literally impossible for this book to exist at this point based on what the lying cunt has said about it.

>work on winds of winder
ahahahahahah
ahahaha
ahaha
ahahahahah

where to i go to bet on whether or not he finishes it

Attached: 1514854448897.png (1280x720, 912.79K)

We all know he's secretly working on finishing Elden Ring during quarantine

Attached: 1579164737138.gif (340x410, 452.22K)

He's written a skeletal structure for both Winds and Spring but keeps making edits to satisfy his inner autism about delivering a book upto fan expectations. It's why he's put it off so long, his books were never supposed to be this famous and now that they are he's afraid of tarnishing it's legacy with a lukewarm product.

He probably keeps making minute little changes here and there which are connected to other events a 100 pages before which are in turn related to something that happens 250 pages behind and is referenced 300 pages ahead. I'm pretty sure he's sitting on 2000 pages of content trying to figure out how to divide it up and sort it out to make it perfect. Once Winds is done, Dreams will be only a year or 2 ahead.

Also AFFC and ADWD were great books and anybody who thinks otherwise is a filtered brainlet poser that shout stick to Captain Underpants or something.

>Once Winds is done
>Dreams will be only a year or 2 ahead.

Attached: 9780717168231.jpg (250x400, 27.06K)

He has thousands of pages sitting pretty right now. Winds is not far ahead, probably come out later this year. All he's been doing now is making changes to the plotlines and editing out bloat for Spring. He's probably made major changes to the original plot of Winds in the past decade, all it needs is a little finishing touch, a little crossing of T's and dotting of I's, and it's done. It's around the corner, I can feel it, this is the year Winds officially comes out.

there's always an outline and a lot of notes when you write stuff, lad

He has thousands of pages worth of content sitting in his computer. If he's figured out Winds, it means he's got a clear shot at the end and all that remains is using whatever he left out of Winds to stich up Spring. Hell he could probably release Winds and Springs together this year as a surprise, but if he doesn't Spring won't be long after Winds.

>Hell he could probably release Winds and Springs together this year as a surprise, but if he doesn't Spring won't be long after Winds
I can't imagine being this delusional

It's because you're a casual poser fuck. This is GRRMs magnum opus, his response to Tolkien the Hacks retarded bedtime drivel. That's like saying what if Da Vinci forgot about painting the Mona Llisa any furthur after he was half way through, it doesn't work like that.

>1996
>1999
>2000
>2005
>2011
>20??
How can one man be so slow?

>tfw lost interest because it's been so long

It's plausible, Winds was halfway done 10 years back and he's probably taking this long because he's done both Winds and Spring and he's just applying the final touches now. Pretty sure 30 years is too long a time to spent on a single series and he doesn't want to continue on any longer so he's gonna dump all he has in one go.

Good. Posers don't belong in this fandom. You probably jumped on the bandwagon after HBO released the third season to GOT, true fans would never abandon this series.

That might be the case for some straightforward one-off novels and short stories but even if you have an ending that "fits" most of the time stories don't end in a satisfying manner, rarely does a long running story ever know when to call it quits and put a stop on it because there's just too much to tie up, it's been the case for pretty much evey long running tv series.

the two people that used to be book fans dropped it for other things. they already assumed that George won't finish shit and moved on. the fat fuck should stop trying to give false hopes.

>some people though that Winds would come in 2016

i doubt he will survive covid-19

Surely he's got a lot done over the last 10 years. Got to be close to done by now!

Attached: 41b296d2a43b6ec95faeca37fdbbdae4.jpg (727x1027, 92.06K)

why would he be working on that? he only provided story, so his job finished a while ago. at most he might receive a couple emails about story elements.

lol. sunk-cost faggots actually believe this.

I see you're familliar with Dune.

I want Fire and Blood 2! I demand more Targkino

i love how his legacy changed from edgy tolkien credited with the biggest book-to-television adaption in history to guy that never finished the only book series he was known for and an adaption that was hated and forgotten 3 weeks after finishing

This.
Dance of the dragons > War of the 5 pretenders.

>tfw we getting Bannerlord before Winds

Attached: 1572555624081.jpg (256x256, 11.02K)

why the fuck wasn't he writing everyday beforehand

You cant rush art

This is only true if you're looking exclusively at TV and nothing else.

GET BACK TO WRITING ELDEN RING YOU FAT FUCK, AT LEAST YOU CAN COMPLETE THAT BEFORE CROAKING REEEEEEEEEEEE

>tfw they got off the boat before winds
