Idiocracy
It wasn't supposed to be a documentary

love liza

Certain dated animation gives me an existential terror. Things like the rankin-bass hobbit and bakshi stuff

It wasn't their intention at the time, but this:

Alien 3.

it can't be since it has a retarded poster

Why is this depressing?

The Man Who Sleeps

WW2 in Colour.

I'd say Satantango, but it's also oddly hypnotic. is depressing but also pretty brilliant. Still Alice is devastating.

The day the clown cried

No, but seriously, Downfall is the most depressing film.

Melancholia portrays depression pretty well imo
Come and See was really bleak
Leviathan
Detachment

My life (1996), starring myself as the main and only character. A 23 years long movie that never hit the threaters

Ehh I don't really like LGBT films

This was the most pretentious movie I've ever seen. The epitome of 'woah dude, so deep'

let me guess... directed by Linklater?

Der Untergang.

He said depressing, not most reddit film.

First thing I thought of

Requiem For a Dream

A Ghost Story

>Leviathan
Seconding

I just finished a hidden life and I was expecting people pointing at the sky, random kids playing and shots of grass in the wind but I wound up depressed as fuck. Jesus christ.

I didn't find it terribly depressing, but I realized how much of my life was summarized by that movie. The character seemed to be OK with it, though, and so am I, mostly.

I don't remember if this movie is actually depressing or if it was just me but a few years back I was at point in my life where I was suffering from crippling loneliness and depression, I lived by myself in a shitty one bedroom apartment in the downtown of a big city, had no friends and had crippling social anxiety so I couldn't talk to people. I had to shut it off halfway through because it was reminding me of how alone I was. Went for a walk at 3:00am on the empty streets of downtown to take my mind off of suicide.

He was okay with it until the end when he cracked. It hits close to home for me too, hence why I like it.

This was fucking depressing. Makes you question the nature of humans.

Another movie is Snowtown out of Australia. A movie about bogans so distressing that people walked out during screenings. .

Doesn’t help that it’s a true story, and they interview the author

Best part of this film was when it cuts to her defense attorney and he just kind of shrugs and looks away. Dancer in the Dark is fucking hilarious.

You got pleb filtered my fellow user. Watch it once again when you hit 30 years old, or have watched more than 1000 films. :)

I always laugh at the edit of this absolute garbage documentary. Also, the people interviewed looked like stupid and allienated peopl.e

Excellent movie. One of my favorite by Bergman.
