How else do you expect me to play melee?

Mitsubishi made TVs?

Yes
Sometimes I watch Outer Limits (classic) or play PS1 on it

I have a 16 inch i only use to play rock band/guitar hero on

poor girl is sterile now

got rid of mine a while back

Why didn't they offer television sets with monitor resolutions?

Mitsubishi is a Zaibatsu, sort of like General electric making airplane engines.

I did temporary work over the summer with no cellphone service and my only source of entertainment was a 20" CRT and an original xbox.
I watched Phonebooth and a Knight's Tale and played Halo

Yup, for VHS, DVD, the occasional game on the Dreamcast and PS2 or divx rip of some obscure shit after hooking the PC up.

>temp work
Imagine signing up to get cucked

i still have a 25" someone was throwing out from a place i used to live. mainly use it to play old consoles, but thinking about getting rid of it

45 of them.

my dad repairs tvs so I have couple lying around the house
also parents bought neighbor house but no one lives there so it's full of crt tvs, half of them are broken, but the other half is working, people just bailed on them

>>/vr

Mitsubishi made many many things, user

They make everything from vibrating dildos to nuclear reactors.

I've got a 4:3 "HD Ready" CRT rear projection tv in the basement. Does 1080i but only through component video, no DVI, VGA or HDMI.

I do like how CRT and even Plasma is a little more forgiving with poor quality video than LCD.

they did
I knew a guy that had a 32" crt that was branded by Dell or Gateway back around 2002ish

I do not remember the resolution however but the txt in windows was clear enough to read just fine

Imagine not having reading comprehension

>that dildo

SOLE

Trying to get one, not having much luck of it.

this. my TV won't play ps1 games; ps2 games work though.

i bought a CRT for $5 from some black guy who 100% stole it. he had quite a large stock of them behind "his" house and when i asked where he got them all he said "he finds them". good times

What did he mean by this?

I don't know, I can't read.

based

well i see CRTs out in sidewalks all the time, so maybe that's how he gets them.

Anyways, I would get one, but i have no space for it.

They make turbochargers, too.

Does it come with s-video? Its a vast improvement.

Here it is with my dork face removed
Thread needs more pics

How many people in this thread see CRTs as a relic from the earliest years of their life and how many simply remember when that's just what TVs and computer screens were?

>are you young or OLD??
I used a crt until I was 26, at which point the mandatory digital changeover occured.

Yes but I only play my OG Xbox on it

Play my old consoles on it.
It has a built in VCR but that part doesn't work.
Pity since VHS on CRT is Maximum Comfy.

One in the garage specifically for light gun games.

are CRT sets still being produced anywhere by anyone?

seconding this. I'd love to get a hold of one but I'm not sure about buying some old, used up thing on ebay. Surely there is some company manufacturing retro tv's?

I had to help throw away my grandma's 33" CRT over the winter and that fucking thing must have weighed close to 100 lbs.

When the digital change occurred we just plugged some shitty freeview box into the tv. My parents still have a small CRT in the kitchen actually. I know it is technically inferior but I love watching movies on that thing, they just feel warmer somehow

I have one. I think it's 15 years old

it looks like a little sihti

YOU JUST KNOW

Sounds comfy

I love CRT's, but I'm poor and nojob so I've got a lot of them for free over the years and then sold them off for like $40-60 profit to gamers who want s-video or component.

Now I wish I kept one for myself, they're harder to come by now in my area. I particularity love the little 13" CRT TV's, they typically have a sharper image and the screens aren't the flattubes so the geometry is always a bit better on them. It's really comfy watching old movies and playing old games on them.

Git in yer sushi boat and git the hell outta here

Theres a big trinitron in my dads storage I used all through childhood I plan to get out once I have a house, but for now I use a 720p panasonic plasma I found on cl for $20. Now that I have it, plasma isn't as holy grail as people made it out to be imo

I never had a plasma but from what I hear it was the OLED of its day. Good blacks and good motion clarity but doesn't get bright so it's useless in a well lit room.

Its definitely not as good as oled is, but I'm sure compared to early lcds yea it mustve been night and day

How do you prevent getting a roach infestation from buying some faggot's CRT on craigslist or picking one up on the sidewalk? I've seen too many pictures of nests being in those things, and old consoles too, that I'm incredibly hesitant to pick one up. My old CRTs burned out or something and I didn't want to pay for repair so I chucked em.

same. mine sat there for a while and i threw it out a few weeks ago.

the brand was literally changchong lol

Just use some Raid and set up those traps the first week or two around the perimeter. Unless your home is already a pigsty you should be fine then.

You could just open them and check before you bring them in the house

They also make cars, projectors, and AC units.

>have an old 1985 zenith in storage
>also have an old ass vcr with a working remote in storage
>break them out and watch old SG1 episodes I recorded 20 years ago
>my vhs copy of road warrior has become lost

I’ll also eat child hood snacks like peanut butter and crackers or toast and sweet iced tea.

still the best way to watch sd 480p.

Those little shits hide anywhere though, the smallest nooks and crannies. Plus, I heard opening up a TV can shock you. I'm not an electrician.
Seasonal roach sightings are normal where I live. For about 6 months of the year, there will be at least a few a day, no matter how clean and spotless the house is. I've also heard some roaches can be resistant to raid and some have developed a distaste for the bait in roach traps. What if I bring in a bunch of superroaches?

>Plus, I heard opening up a TV can shock you
Why? I know that tech can be pretty interesting but if you know what to expect I'd say that shock is quite a strong reaction to some wires and tubes

>Anybody still have a CRT?
Yup! I have a few. Mostly for gaming although I was given quite a few vhs tapes and watch them on it also. Pick them up while you still can anons. I *predict* they will be worth some money here in a few years.

Lots of sources online told me that trying to dig around the back of CRTs can shock you with lethal voltage.

I'm gonna come clean with you. I tried to make a joke, it was a reach I know. I don't blame you for it going over your head. If anything, I probably didn't word it right, and I need to reflect on my poor use of prose. This is why I need to read more. I am sorry, user, to have wasted your time.

I had a Mitsubishi too. It broke years ago but I can't bring myself to throw it out. Too much sentimental value.

Me.

I see the joke now. I'm sorry user, don't blame yourself. It is me; I couldn't see the humor in your words and I apologize for making you doubt yourself. Keep going, user! I'm the big dummy here.
