13 - Demons of the Punjab
The best 13th Doctor episode is Twice Upon a Time because it has a better Doctor in it for nearly the entire run time.
I genuinely struggled to find an episode from 13's run I enjoyed - Woman Who Fell to Earth, I guess? Kerblam, Demons and Tesla were all okay I guess. But Orphan 55 was the episode I found myself enjoying the most while it was on, except the ending of course, but I can ignore that
There's a few I, at the very least, enjoyed—even if they weren't even good per se: The Woman Who Fell to Earth, Rosa, Demons of the Punjab, Kerblam!, Nikola Tesla's Night of Terror, The Haunting of Villa Diodati, and Ascension of the Cybermen (maybe)
I was so thoroughly annoyed by the time Kerblam and The Witchfinders because I realised this show was not getting any better, that it made it really difficult for me to enjoy anything going forward. I only really half-watched episodes after that, chatting about them with my mates on discord while they were playing out in front of me. I've never done this with any media before - I like to really appreciate what I'm watching, engrossing myself in it entirely and blocking out all distractions, but Chibnall Who is just something else. I only watch it out of brand loyalty, and the hope that it will eventually improve
Are we doing the DOTD rewatch?
Reminder that it got Moff off his twitter exile and the madman wrote a new introduction scene featuring a "much-loved Doctor Who character", yet to be revealed.
Yeah, I'm fucking hype. I'm hoping it's 12 or 11, or maybe Clara. I'd take 10 I guess
>moff wrote a new introduction scene that was shot and edited remotely
it's going to be the best writing in Doctor Who since TUAT
It's gonna be someone Moff's friend's with, someone he could get a video from in such short notice.
But if it's 12 or Clara I will scream. Shit I'll even take Missy
Imagine if it's 13 and Moffat writes her better in 20 seconds than Chibnall ever did in 20 hours
Wait, what is Moffat writing? Just his own fanfiction now?
Why not, eh? love seeing Hurt.
>eaturing a "much-loved Doctor Who character"
HE'S BACK
>now arriving to:
>LONDON
>LONDON
>LONDON
>LONDON
For a show about time and space travel, it sure is obsessed with one extremely specific location that existed in an extremely specific time period on a turbo specific tiny blue/green planet
So why DID the Tardis fuck off in Empress of Mars?
Moffat Reveal: 6:30pm (UTC+0)
DotD Rewatch: 7:00pm (UTC+0)
Nah it's gonna be one of the Osgoods
Any reason in particular why you guys liked Demon of the Punjab so much? It didn't really stick out to me as that great an episode, but if it's a common thing on people's lists I must be missing something
could we restream it on cytube?
I'm down for it. I still need to get around to those UNIT audios with her and Kate.
It's an intro to the 50th, like the one with Tennant and Smith and Hurt. But it was all shot remotely and features a yet unspecified character.
I'm betting on some side-character from the 50th, like Osgood. But I'd fucking KILL to see 12, Missy or Clara again.
>13 is a false Doctor
>Nardole was the Doctor all along!
Wtf when's this happening?
is it gonna be the first doctor? is he also gonna ''redpill'' the audience before the showing?
Holy shit if it's Nardie I will be so happy.
I can't believe we're so excited for a fucking 2-minute intro written by Moffat for a rewatch.
We know it's gonna be the best Doctor Who content in years, but still
Everyone watches at home, twitter will be live-tweeting, some people will be streaming together, etc.
Moffat wrote a new intro for it as well, it will be put online 30 minutes before we all start watching
has the times
It's a good general, near-pure historical which tackles a serious issue without falling into preachy territory.
Unironically would rather just go back to using old quarries or factory buildings, and pretending it's an alien planet. People are afraid to let the audience use their imagination now.
Characters feel like people, genuine human drama, almost feels like a pure-historical and 13 is the most Doctory she's ever been
Man I loved Osgood. She was one girl Moff didn't sexualize in gross way.
BROS WHAT IF IT'S ECCLESTON?
HE CAN SHOOT A 40 SECOND VIDEO ON HIS PHONE
The introduction scene will be The Curator talking nonsense for 2 minutes before walking off screen.
And it will be glorious.
Best girl. I'd love for the Doctor to travel with someone close to being his intellectual equal again. There's a reason that we all, deep down, know that Liz was best companion.
>Tom babbling nonsense for 2 minutes
already better than all of Chibwho
I hope against hope that he don´t put 13 in there :/
It would be just the sort of thing That BBC would try to do.
Almost nothing about it was historically accurate.
I'd like to see that because I know Moff would KILL writing 13. I'd be a minute-long video but she'd be better there than in all of S11/12
>tfw the Wedding of River Shit burnt you out so hard that you missed the opportunity to see it at the cinema
seething Hindu nationalist detected
Watch with literally everyone today, user.
If we're all going down the nostalgia hole, here's the original livethread (and sticky!) of the 50th
archive.4plebs.org
what channel is it being shown on?
stream it
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
>"Good evening. This is the Doctor speaking, the original you might say. *clears throat* FUCK niggers and FUCK trannies, that is all."
where from. what service?
Everyone's supposed to watch it at home, but I'm sure we can get a stream going
>MOFFAT'S NEW SCENE IS BEING RELEASED ON CHIBKEK'S BIRTHDAY
Bros it's too perfect
I hope the scene is just Moffat announcing he's taking back Doctor Who
UK options are iPlayer or Netflix. Don't know about foreign options; you could just pirate it.
>i'm actually looking forward to a new piece of doctor who media
What the fuck is going on?
yeah if youre in america unless you want to give amazon too much money just torretn it or if youre lazy go to 123movies
thanks, i thought it would be a streaming service but I've got access to the iplayer.
I think I still have the DVD (lmao remember those) from the 50th somewhere around here. I'll join in with the lads.
And it's a 30 second/2 minute video shot at home. The state of ChibWho right now
Betting £10 on it just being a recording of Katy Manning being adorably batshit insane as per usual
So much salt
