I think a big part of the show was to have the characters sort of switch places as their arc progresses. Like we all hated Hank in season 1 but by the end you're supposed to like him. The reverse for Walter except that clearly didn't happen.

I kind of feel the same way about Kim in Better Call Saul but Kim is at least a likable character. They both get a lot of screen time dealing with relatively mundane problems. The difference is that with Kim I want her character to have more to do while with Skylar I just wanted to Salamancas to off her.
