Is there any significance to Mayrin's head scarf? We don't see any other vapra with similar attire, the closest being Seladon with that bundled collar.
Is it part of the standard all-maudra getup, adventure garb for sun protection that she wears from habit of past adventures, or does she just wear it because she's old and hiding age?
It's probably just lazy artists but I wonder why the same outfit in the new comic as the last reason wouldn't work.

Dark Crystal really isn't cosplay-friendly, is it? The skeks are difficult and expensive to make, and the gelfs and podlings don't mix with real life human proportions.

So it is safe to assume that Netflix will never renew the show now?
No, I assume they're waiting to see how the merchandise sells before releasing season 2. It's the only reason I can think of for their silence in renewing or canceling the series.
I wonder if people just sub-consciously pet the skeks when they pass them.
Also I've noticed that in the pictures from the sets, they talk to the puppets and look them straight in the eyes as if they're having a conversation with a real person. They're not going to the side and lifting the skirt up to talk to the guy inside.
It's funny seeing people who know full well that they're puppets still getting lost to the immersion and most likely without realizing it.
They're just that well made. I guess people inside them get lost to the character too.
Man I wish we had hours and hours of footage from the set. Would be fun to watch their antics.
It probably doesn't help that the puppeteers seemed to enjoy playing around in character, like they did in the bloopers
It's too much effort to get in and out of them I think, so they just stay in them all the time. Getting very sweaty under those studio lights.
